That exhaust sound was truly terrible, your version. Ha I took a test ride on a 2015 with 6k miles a couple of days ago. Bike rode nicely with smooth gear shifter. I wish it had a few accessories like luggage, engine guard, skid plate etc. Those things really add up as well you know.
I wasn't sure if you where joking or not.. I mean some of the points I was thinking, really lol.. I have a 2019 nc750x and I love it.. The exhaust, defo replaced that as it didn't make any sound..
Just entering my 18th month of owning my 2013 NC700X. Fortunately, the previous owner had taken the effort to amend more than a few of the shortcomings shown here (raised bars, suspension, windscreen, slip on exhaust, new seat, bark busters etc.) And answered a ton of sound advice. I have also added 20,000 plus more miles in that year and a half. I wake up every morning thinking about the Perfect Motorcycle parked out in front waiting for me...Thanks for sharing our shared Bliss.
I’ve been riding the same bike for 3 years too. 56000 kms. Just got back from my yearly trip to Sydney from Melbourne along the coastal route. Had a very sore bum at the end of each day but apart from that it was a great ride. I commute daily in all weather conditions. Awesome bike.
This was the video which helped me to decide on which bike to buy. My finalists were BMWGS800, Yamaha Tenere & Honda NC750X, of course I always had a soft spot for Hondas all my life. After watching this video, I went straight to my Honda dealer and became a proud owner of a 2020 Honda NC750X DCT. Your videos are my encyclopedia Brittanica for maintenance refrences. I have looked at many other vlogs but your videos are the best for novices like me. They've given me the confidence and a joy of new hobby. I love how you give step by step guide and the details you go through. I'm sure there are many out there who are grateful like me. Thank you so much.
Thanks mate. I agree it’s a joy of ownership to be able to work on your bike as well as ride it - something rare these days with bikes packed with tech.
Humour aside, you must remember that this bike is built to a budget - it is good value. The real faults are the LCD display, the skinny pegs and the fuel filler location (The tank position is good, but I'm sure the filler could be positioned so that one doesn't have to lift the pillion each time-which is a real pain). Good video - many thanks from Devon, England!
I had an F650GS BMWAnalog gauges I blacked out my very small wind screen So my phone GPS and indicator lights would be made highly visible. and since my bike was stolen last week I’m looking for a replacement and thought I’d check it out. I didn’t know these existed, I think they’re better looking than my GS.
Hi. I'm from Russia. I drive an old Honda transalp 650. He is 20 years old. And what I should say: "You eat too much." I mean, you have a really good bike that I can only dream of. And your 20+ small problems are not really problems. I'm sorry if I offended you. And I'm sorry about my English. Respect for your Moto journey! I like it too. Have a good trip, my friend!
It was my NC750X 2014 models 90 000km birthday about a week ago. If it weren't for all these faults, it would have been a perfect bike, and we all know nothing in this world is Perfect :-)
Couldn't believe it and am glad you were just having some fun. One year ago I was looking for a new bike and came across your reviews and mod tips. The honest commentary was a factor in my final decision. I picked up my bike last November and have just over 5,000 miles on it. All the luggage pieces, center stand, front fender extension, and the balance of tools to the factory kit (US models don't come with the wrenches to adjust the chain) were added. The center stand and tools should be standard equipment in my opinion. For my riding, I found it best to simply take the wind screen off. Looks a bit odd, but the buffeting is completely gone. Thank you for all your posts. Of the previous bikes I have owned, this one has been the best fit for me. It's a beautiful fall day here in Connecticut and time to go add some miles. Thanks again.
Another great video, keep em coming my friend, people will only understand how great this bike is when they buy 1, that's why Honda only made 3 changes to the 2020 model, 1. New shade colour , 2. Traction control. 3. Extra 500 rpm, they know they made a great bike and a great seller, so why mess with it..
whew... I thought you were going to sell it. Just bought mine and you are an inspiration. On the negative side my Honda dealer couldn't find a radiator guard or a skid plate in their catalogs here in the U.S. Guess that's why the Africa Twin is double the price, all the little things plus the displacement and horsepower. Couldn't afford the Africa though so I will make the best out of it.
I got 10,000 Kms on my 2019 NC750X in 3 and a half months. It is my forth and last motorcycle. I will never drive anything else now. Amazing engineering by Honda who have produced the funnest drive that I have every experienced. From running errands down town to a two-week drive down the US Eastern Seaboard; it does it all. I am glad that I watched your video to the end (haha).
I've recently purchased a 2013 DCT with very few miles, and I find those same reasons the cause of my monthly window shopping phenomena however, after close inspection of would be potential threats to my reliable NC I end up returning home with the same bike, nedless to say I find myself changing atires often and returning to the road and enjoying my NC. Till I can afford a second bike which is the only sensible thing to do if you only have one bike the NC shall remain in my possession.
So many bikes are like this, my Vstrom is the same, it's similar to buying the base model of a car, some of these 'extras' would cost the manufacturer pennies to fir at production.
There is no perfect bike. I agree with your list, specially the seat's hardness... But for everything you get for this bike, imho all these faults won't change my mind: the NC is a terrific allrounder and it's definitely a keeper for real world riding. Cheers for the vid!
I absolutely love my nc I have had 14 road bikes and for the money I love this the most. I am saving for a fork kit and rear shock. Most under rated bike around i actually rank it up there with my old TDM 900.
Hshahaha 20 personal modifications. I love my NC750 and its simplicity, great handling, bright light, good brakes, quiet engine, crazy cornering qualities and very low operation cost.
Great and honest review! I owned the NC700 and traveled around the the eastern US. I loved the bike but couldn't get used to the seat feel so I sold it. Sadly, I still miss that bike! Honda did a great job on the motor and styling. I agree with your mods 100% and wish Honda would improve in those areas. I would own another one if the seat were all day comfortable. Thanks for the video!
Thumper McKenzie - thanks mate. As this was a bit of a spoof, I need to say I don’t mind the seat! I’ve done over 60,000km to date and some 1,000km days and have no plans to change the seat. But I know a lot of people hate it.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff , I have talked to others that feel the same as you. I am currently on a Suzuki Vstrom DL1000 and still had to modify the seat on that. I guess I have a soft bottom end! I have ridden to every state in the US except Alaska so I do some long days in the saddle. I do miss that Honda and have been looking at after market seats for one that might lead me to purchasing a NC750 in the future. My wife rides a Honda CTX700 and has currently 106k miles on it. We ride a lot!
Have done most of these too except the fork adjusters. Have had my seat re padded to little affect...lifted it up too with little affect. And put a sheepskin on seat to some affect but its still a torture instrument. Have lowered the rear suspension which has made the handling much more sure footed along with the pilot 4s fitted which are still very good after 7k miles...
1: Absolutely right. 2 Absolutely right. 3. Absolutely right. 4. Absolutely right. 5. Not a big deal. 6. Not a big deal. 7. Absolutely right. 8 Absolutely right. 9 Not a big deal. 10 Absolutely right. 11. Center stand? Buy one! 12. Buy one! 13. Absolutely right. 14. Really? A terrible stock seat? 15. Buy a new can. 16. Absolutely right. 17. It’s one of NC’s best features, no? 18. Absolutely right, like most bikes. 19 So Absolutely right! Especially on the 2021 model! 20. Yikes! I suspect that’s a manufacturer’s defect. 21. Absolutely right. 22. It’s a NC. 23. It’s an NC!
Phew! I really thought you've got tired of this wonderful bike :-) Nice to finally hear that the change only was into your motorcycle gear. Ride safe! :-)
I agree with all your sentiments - and still think it's one of the best all-around "if you can have only one bike"... And I've ridden for over 50 years and crossed the US on Goldwings, had sport touring bikes, Kawasaki Concours, dirt bikes, etc. I commute 44 miles almost every day - and love the mileage... I can go 600 miles in a day on my older Goldwings - not so sure this bike would see me in the saddle that long... but very happy with my choice.
My NC750X is 4 years old and came with heated grips and top box. I have found the bike to generally be a reliable workhorse for comuting and touring. In my opinion it is a good all-rounder with some faults which unless corrected would put me off buying another. The front forks are harsh and transmit every round bump through the handlebars. The display is ridiculus. Most of the digits are too small to read in both daylight or the dark. It is like a modern mobile phone in having loads of features that might be of use to some people but not all. It is menu driven by two buttons. If you hold one of these buttons down for too long everything useful gets zeroed or changed. The display was actually clearer and easier to adjust on the earlier NC700 model. I am 178cm (5' 10) tall and can only just touch the ground with both feet. I invaribly catch the passenger hump with my boot when getting on or off the bike. I can lower the back end a little but this will affect the sterring head angle. Unless Honda change the ride height I will not buy another.
Following up on my ownership comments of two years ago......I purchased a 25mm lowering kit for the rear end which has made getting on / off much easier. The front end would not move a mm so had to be left. But this was a one gain two losses move. The headlight turned into a search light for aircraft and the main stand became impossible to use. The owner's handbook was useless for adjusting the headlight beam angle but TH-cam was very informative. The second issue was not fixable and also made the side stand less than safe. Last month I fell over in car park after putting my foot down into a large pot hole. I then found the bike was too heavy to lift up on my own. I have just renewed both tyres at 11,500 miles of use from new. My Norton 961 chewed through two sets in the same time. The rear chain has been adjusted twice and may need changing soon.
I agree with most of your points, and I have adopted pretty much the same workarounds. I disagree about the LCD display, though. I think it is very good and easy to read under any conditions (mine is the 2018 model, so it could be different). And I don't need heated grips at all, since it never gets really cold around here. Another point: I think the brakes could be better... Anyway, same as you, I truly enjoy my NC750X :)
Perfectly correct in all your comments Honda do take a real long time to listen to us NC owners - we have to spend £1000 or more to make it the bike it should be- never mind just building it to a price point- but once we have put the essential extras on its a brilliant bike to own and ride.
I got a pair of puig shorty levers, foldable and adjustable (also red, to match the bike), they look great. Thanks for a fun video and enjoy your trip. I think I've pretty much changed everything you've changed on my NC750S.
Yes I have had mine for about 3 years now. Agree that the bike could have come out of factory a bit more aligned for adventure style riding. Better seat, larger fuel tank, fuel filler easier to access, better suspension front and rear. But for the money you outlay for a new bike you can add as you go. Keep the wheels turning. Cheers
Could not agree with you more ESPECIALLY your final point. The LCD display does have one "advantage" though; in most light conditions it acts as a mirror so you can check that I have not forgot my helmet. For the clutch lever problem I bought a cheap pair of adjustable and collapsible levers on fleabay for £25 (added plus in being nice and shiny red like the bike). Best wishes.
C Cooper - ha! Had not thought of that advantage of the display. I actually tried aftermarket levers but didn’t like the “feel” so went back to standard.
Similar quality to my old CBR500R. the swing arm was a box section and I had to get a new chain and sprocket at 24,000 but it was locking up at about 8,000. I just tried to keep it clean and lubed till it was so bad it was getting weak and risked it snapping. Had it for 5 years but sold it recently as I want to go exploring. First stop I'm planning is Longreach and then across to Alice.
I've owned an NC750X for three years. Love it. Started watching this video and thought, oh well another whinger who doesn't understand motorbikes - well until the end of the video. Agree totally, minor issuers which need to be sorted but overall, a great all round bike which, despite it's average power, has good torque and a very respectable performance on the road.
Some issues have been changed on the 2023 version- but still have to buy the basic essential's- centre stand- front fender extender-larger screen- all other stuff are extras as usual- but its a splendid bike and is built to a price point.
Muhahahaha I liked the ending it's epic. And I was preparing to write about some of the faults Hahahahaha great video! Still there are good options for these faults: Heated grips they are optional at Honda NC750x you can have it, the seat you can buy a perfect confortable seat from Top Sellerie in France, windshield higher from Puig plus deflector, Top case and rack are also Honda Optionals. Power ... it does 0-100 Km in 4.4 seconds that's not so bad... Also the stock exhaust it's better than the scooter one 😁🤣 The Dunlop tyres are very good on the rain from my personal experience but they run fast at arround 12.000 Km in my case. I totaly agreed with radiator protection , foot pegs, and most of the rest..
All I've done is Puig windscreen with visor and Honda top case and centerstand. I make sure keep radiator clean. Nowadays I don't try to make it an all day bike with heated grips and cruise, I just stop more often and the seat is breaking me in over time. The main thing is the upright and alert riding position with core engaged, completely compatible the firm suspension and seat.
Fault number 24........the rider is perfect in every way.......lol.........glad to see you have "adjusted the bike" to suit your needs sir. For what it's worth, I have never found a bike with a stock seat that was all day comfortable for me, apart from a Harley Softail Heritage that I once owned.........and I got rid of that bike because it didn't really suit my riding style......
I'm glad I watched this until the end! It reminds me of my CB1100EX which I keep modifying in similar ways to fit better. But I won't get rid of it because I love riding it and am about to do so in just a little while!
"I'm only 190cm tall"!!!!!!!!!!! Ha. I suffer at the other end of the scale at 172cm tall. i have trouble reaching the ground even on a CB500X! Great video.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff None taken. It was a fun video. I think its fun personalizing our bikes to suite our needs rather than waiting for the "Perfect" bike to hit the market. Enjoy Tassie
Just viewed your start to taz... Hope y'all have a great trip... And another 45 years! I've looked at, and rode a few of these a couple of times... The DCT model would be for me. I truly enjoy your pace to life, and your ability to show your enjoyment. Thanks for using this bike, to share your life........
Got me. almost switched off. Own the 700x and love it with 110k km. to raise the bike front fork 1 inch extensions added. Brakes changed the brake rubber pipes to the braided kind and much better. Back seat fuel , used back seat as template and constructed an aluminium one using the same connection bolts and seperating the part over the fuel. cap to be able to get to the fuel cap but still lock it as you would normally. Added skid plate was also a life saver at times.
Just bought an NC750X 2020 and I'm 190cm like you. Do you have a standard windscreen below the extender or is that already a bigger windscreen? Great video, so I know what I should be getting to make it so much better. And the foot pegs, what brand are they? Thanks, Erik
Standard screen. But screen height is a very personal thing. I don’t like a screen so tall I have to look through it. As it is, it just puts the air over my helmet when at highway speed. Foot pegs? eBay. Listings come and go so just search Honda NC750x foot pegs.
Well, I'd never watched one of your vids before, but I have just bought a 2015 NC750X, so far I'm loving it. I was thinking "the guys a dope, most bikes would need exactly the same mods", until the end of the vid that is. As for only being 190cm's tall!!!! For those of us who still relate to feet and inches, that's 74.8 inches - just under 6'3" lol. One point on the bike I have noticed is seat comfort, I need to check your other vids to see if there are any top tips regarding that. Happy riding!
Phil Smith - thanks mate. Seat? I changed the seat slope (I have a video on this) and that was good enough for me. Lots of people complain about the seat comfort but I’m one of the rare ones who don’t mind it. I’ve had many worse and a few better (till the foam collapsed) so the NC seat is fine for me.
Have watched all your vids and liked them. The NCX is good all rounder but a little too big and cumbersome for me. I have four bikes and have just moved to the West Coast of Tassie. The roads around here are unbelievable. Motorcycle Paradise. So make an effort to come over here and ride the West Coast and Tarkine region. You won’t regret it. Safe travels.
Trevor Brew - thanks Trevor. We hit Tassie on Nov 3 and can’t wait. We have toured Tas a number of times over the years but never tire of riding in paradise. Love the Tarkine loop and plan to do it again starting from Zeehan and up thu Corina (weather permitting)
I recently saw a NC750X in a car park looked at it for some time thinking it could be a bike for me, not complicated, saw one of your reviews, economical + ease to maintain looked at Honda website and it's not listed, good one bean counters
The most boring dull machine I've ever owned. As a motorcycle courier I have done 30000 miles on my 2019 model and had done 46000 on my 2017 model before it was written off by an uninsured van driver. You know what though I love it.The only real modification I've done is raise the rear ride height by 20mm and fitted a centre stand.Does exactly what I bought it for.Rear wheel bearings and an ignition barrel that can't handle Scottish weather aside its a great machine.Love the videos by the way.Its nice to see grumpy guys like me on the other side of the world.Take care.
Good video on dislikes of this model...and I'm happy you kept it! I have the 2018 Dct with Abs version and love it! Not as many miles as you though but I plan on riding it further out than around..😁 town
NO. 23 - totally agree, I'm 6'1 and I can't find enough space for my legs....Also it seem that slope of front seat is causing issues almost all NC750 owners - not sure what Honda thought when they designed that horrible seat and won't ever understand the reason for that slope.
A lot of these faults are common to a lot of bikes hard seats screen too low mudguards too low etc. In UK every bike should have heated grips and hand guards from new. I like your sense of humour 😁
Took me a minute or so to realise the praise behind the lines. You must have had some tease from BMW or KTM owners, I would imagine.... Great stuff, thank you
I’m really happy with mine, my height is 173cm so I have no problem at all with the wind and with my position on the bike. The seat it is not comfortable, but from my side, only on long ride. Minimum 2 hours ride. The exhaust system is ok 👍. The tires are not good, I agree. I’ve put on mine Michelin pilot. Really happy with it. And you forgot to mention that you can store a helmet in front of the bike. I think that is really important and you don’t need a top box. 😉😉😉. Many thanks for the video 👍
I like mine but I honestly think there's a lot they could of done to improve it without adding anything to the cost. Here's a few things to add to the list: * The low fuel warning is flashing grey on grey!!! why didn't they make the speedo go red or something more noticeable? * I find the display impossible to control - there's only 2 buttons but you need a phd to understand it. * The manual might of helped but the writing is so small I can't read it. * Having different size holes in the front disk would allow better fitting of various disk locks. * When I turn the bike off my keys seem to always get stuck on that tiny bar. * Also, why doesn't the wheel lock work at 100% turn rather than turning the bars all the way then backing off 10 degrees? * The rear grab handle is smooth meaning bungee straps just slide around. * The bike really needs a belt rather than a chain Agree with your points on: * Wind noise - anything above 70mph is deafening to me. * The seating position - I can only take 2 hours before giving in.
Hi Adrian, like the other viewers I nearly had a heart attack when the unofficial ambassador for NC750s looked like you were announcing ‘It’s all over’. I’ve ridden my NC up and down the country, Perth and back and next year a trip around Oz. True, all the problems you mention are real but can be sorted. Warn us next time you are taking your trousers off!!
mcoulson111 G’day mate. Good to hear from you. Warn about taking off my Trousers? That’s not what you said last night! Woops - you said not to tell anyone.
You're a real moaner aren't ya...all bikes will have at least 10 to 20 faults as you call it .. makes me wonder how you lived with the bike for so long.. Are you married, have you any faults.. watch out your misses will probably swap you out 😃 However I'd love to buy your Honda nc..you've done a great job.... Even after all the faults in your videos, I just love your work.. 🤣 💯 % Much appreciated man .... !!
Ha! Thanks. You wouldn’t believe how many people think I’m serious about the so-called “faults”. I don’t think they watch till the end, or of they do, just miss the whole point.
In fact i did replace air filter today. After i watched youtube video how to do it. It was very easy tbh most painful bikes to work with is supersports where every thing is so cramped. Yes it awkward place for filter but wasn’t difficult at all. Just take your time that’s all specially with plastic panels
About the forks, there is an aftermarket kit to replace them all and fine tune them from YSS Shocks!.... Or better yet make a quick run to Ohlins in Sweden and get them to replace the stock shocks.
Not offended in any way, I do appreciate these kind of videos. actually i just bought one today with a dct, this way i do not have to reinvent the wheel once again.
The one fairly big positive you failed to mention on any of your video's is the fairing that helps protect your knee's & part of your leg's from the elements, especially if living in cooler climates-instantly noticeable. I don't like top boxes as I prefer to keep the weight low but you can get C bow pannier system from Motorcycle adventure products in Aus-easy to mount. You then have a choice of Hepco Becker soft luggage (lockable). Male C bow on your bike, female C bow on the bag's. Great system. AUD $319.00. It's slant is more towards a road bike than a adventure bike but doing what you've done with front guard extender & more versatile tyres you could do some off road with limitations. I don't know of any motorcycle on the planet that comes with hand guards, apart from maybe hard core farm bikes or off road bikes. Heated grips usually also an add on except on certain models of Triumph like the T120 Bonneville. Hope you're oxford heated grips go through a relay to protect your delicate battery. I had no problem with windscreen on NC750X I took for test ride-depends on your body height from waist. You may find those new pegs may catch on the ground if cornering hard. Centre stands mostly an extra except on Royal ENfield-they put them on as standard. At least you can fit a centre stand-I couldn't on my Ducati Scrambler.
I enjoyed the video and sound effects! You're points are spot on and looking forward to farkling Honda's great bike into my bike with similar upgrades. I put my deposit down yesterday on a 2020. What foot pegs are those?! I've subscribed to your channel and will also dig around for your sloping seat adjustment! Ride safe, sir!
OK some of these faults are options you didn't choose to buy or were not available at the time. What is improved on thr latest model in comparison to your bike? What might you consider as an alternative bike?
Loved the video!!! I have a 2001 Honda Shadow 750 ACE it has a low seat of about 27" I am 5'11" 195lbs, and when a lot of reviewers talk about this bike they say it's great for women, or beginners I am neither, I'm 59 I cut my teeth on a CBR 6 when I was 26. Is it powerful, NO! not compared to my VFR1200, it's a cruiser people kill trying to compare to totally different bike I get the ACE to ride around town, and I got the VFR for long trips, but I have camped on both, and I have cruised on both, and when I take the ACE on the highway for camping I just install my wind shield no problems I said all to say both my bike have negatives, and positive but I will not sell neither, I just adjust!!! Happy new year to you and your family! Be blessed in 2020, keep the videos coming!
Haha, that's the attitude. Lots of good problem solving you've done. What the bike does have going for it is that you're not going to find all the positives it has in a reasonably sized package with any of the other adventure bikes out there...
Yep. Tested the Africa Twin a couple of weeks ago. I have no problems with the NC handling but the AT was much better, more power etc. But then it is too tall, bad fuel consumption and costs £13k for the 2019 models being sold off now.
I loved the video Adrian, I'm surprised so many people didn't"get it", but then I think maybe English is quite a few people's 2nd, 3rd and 4th language and perhaps irony can be harder to spot (even if you did take your trousers off!). I think this is my favourite bike channel, far fewer knee dragging hoons and haters commenting. NC riders are a far more friendly bunch.
Thanks for the reply on the seat mod... I’m considering moving to this. Currently ride a 2014 Yamaha FZ6R. How is the NC750X at sustained highway speeds when traveling? Flow of traffic here on interstates in Virginia, US is 80-85mph. Would it struggle at that pace? Thank you, wonderful channel!, Oh, is that the stock screen? I have that same deflector on my FZ6R in conjunction with a Puig touring screen. Check out Seat Concepts for a seat kit too, did that for my bike, excellent!
Hi Adrian. When you installed the handlebar risers, did you have to lengthen the brake pipe, throttle cable etc? I bought a set of risers too, but when I released the clamp and tried to lift the handlebars, it appeared as though there wasn't enough play in any of those!
I looked at this bike a month ago, seemed cheap build, decided wha I wanted was another BMW midsize, ordered a 2023 F750 GS, best display on the market, real cruise control, quick shift and Quality build....
🤔 I’ve been looking at one just as a commuter. It’s 8 years old but only has 16,000 on the clock it has heated grips & guards, rear rack & box, rad guard, after market exhaust, fog lights, extended front mudguard and rear hugger, engine guards & seat modification. So a few extras for under £3,000 I may yet acquire it as it would fit my requirements. Thanks.
For those NC owners offended by this video please forgive my weird so called “sense of humour”
And there was me thinking you have fixed most of your faults why change it.
Roger McArd said he’s going to jerk you off with his arse cheeks for this blasphemy 😂😂😂
I wasn't sure if you where joking or not.. I mean some of the points I was thinking, really lol.. I have a 2019 nc750x and I love it.. The exhaust, defo replaced that as it didn't make any sound..
Fault no 21, the owner of this bike is a crybaby and too poor to buy an Africa twin

The display is OK in the UK. It's never sunny here.
Fat Roberto - ha! Good point.
It really is. This summer has been one to remember, tho mostly from the back garden 😥
😂🤣😂 You took the words out my mouth 👍
I had an F650GS BMWAnalog gauges I blacked out my very small wind screen So my phone GPS and indicator lights would be made highly visible. and since my bike was stolen last week I’m looking for a replacement and thought I’d check it out. I didn’t know these existed, I think they’re better looking than my GS.
Honda displays are very poor. You compared them with other brands offering TFT displays and Honda does not have that even as optional
My Australian sarcasm probably doesn’t translate. I don’t think these are faults.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff Ouch... It was sarcasm? ) I didn't understand it, sorry )
@@Mrak2k - no problem mate. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes for your own adventures.
Yep. You had me. I skipped to the end to make sure it wasn't so. Now I'll go back and actually watch the vid lol. Phew....
Thanks for the heads up on the swing arm, I'll rust protect it asap
How
It was my NC750X 2014 models 90 000km birthday about a week ago.
Dwight Davis - thanks mate. Good to hear you are also enjoying this underrated machine.
I have not owned a NC7-X, but I am an admirer. I was thinking most other bikes share most of the same faults.
Jeff Hudspeth - yes. Exactly my point.
I'm confused what did they change about traction control from 2019 model?
@@antiqas A whole protocol, which is "use the other finger to press".
😉
Rod Little - thanks. Many didn’t watch till the end but commented anyway!
"I'm only 190 cms" Hahahahaha. I love my NC700SA
Haha we are tall 197cm
@@tinolino58 i'm 197cm tall, should i buy this bike?
Branko Barac If you go with the above model „X“: YES
A video only for those of us that watch them all until the end... I was getting worried ^^. Enjoy the ride and stay safe!
My future bike and would love to do adventure stuff with my girlfriend like you guys!! We have the same vision, so blessed to find this channel
I absolutely love my nc I have had 14 road bikes and for the money I love this the most.
I am saving for a fork kit and rear shock. Most under rated bike around i actually rank it up there with my old TDM 900.
Adam G - yes totally agree
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff I really enjoy your videos if you are ever in Victoria and want to do the GOR drop me a line I will ride with you.
Adam G - thanks for the invite Adam. Will keep that in mind.
Hshahaha 20 personal modifications.
I love my NC750 and its simplicity, great handling, bright light, good brakes, quiet engine, crazy cornering qualities and very low operation cost.
Martin Kaufmann - yep. You summed it up perfectly.
As a owner of one Nc 750... I'm just like you, i know it's faults...but i still Love It =)
You almost got me.
I agree with some of the points, but I also love mine.
I put a air hawk sport on mine , now all day comfy !
Brilliant humour. Thank you. I needed that in these covid times.

Mike Eggert - good to hear that Mike. It seems it takes an experienced rider to appreciate how good this bike is.
Very good video 👏👏
I agree with just about everything you mentioned and in fact didn't trade mine for any more either 😉
I got a pair of puig shorty levers, foldable and adjustable (also red, to match the bike), they look great.
Thanks for a fun video and enjoy your trip.
I think I've pretty much changed everything you've changed on my NC750S.
I Love this guy, he's so inspiring especially in times when I've considered selling my Nc.
Cheers
Brett Payne - exactly. Thanks mate
Great things to consider before buying. How much did all those extra mods cost you?
Similar quality to my old CBR500R. the swing arm was a box section and I had to get a new chain and sprocket at 24,000 but it was locking up at about 8,000. I just tried to keep it clean and lubed till it was so bad it was getting weak and risked it snapping. Had it for 5 years but sold it recently as I want to go exploring. First stop I'm planning is Longreach and then across to Alice.
I've owned an NC750X for three years. Love it. Started watching this video and thought, oh well another whinger who doesn't understand motorbikes - well until the end of the video. Agree totally, minor issuers which need to be sorted but overall, a great all round bike which, despite it's average power, has good torque and a very respectable performance on the road.
tag491a - thanks for hanging in to the end so you got my point. 👍
Still there are good options for these faults:
Heated grips they are optional at Honda NC750x you can have it, the seat you can buy a perfect confortable seat from Top Sellerie in France, windshield higher from Puig plus deflector, Top case and rack are also Honda Optionals. Power ... it does 0-100 Km in 4.4 seconds that's not so bad...
Also the stock exhaust it's better than the scooter one 😁🤣
The Dunlop tyres are very good on the rain from my personal experience but they run fast at arround 12.000 Km in my case.
Thanks mate. Of course I’m not serious about these “faults”. As you say, all bikes have things we don’t like and can not-pick about.
I'm glad I watched this until the end! It reminds me of my CB1100EX which I keep modifying in similar ways to fit better. But I won't get rid of it because I love riding it and am about to do so in just a little while!
PracticingLiberty - thanks mate. Not everyone got the point!
"I'm only 190cm tall"!!!!!!!!!!! Ha. I suffer at the other end of the scale at 172cm tall. i have trouble reaching the ground even on a CB500X! Great video.
Moreorles Done - sorry about that. This whole video is a big “tongue in cheek” so no disrespect intended. 😘
Enjoying the Ride ! - thanks mate. Appreciate your comments.
Got me. almost switched off.
Angelo Hoole - I was interested to read what mods you have done. Thanks.
Love the heated grips and cruise control mods. Also liking the placement for your gopro on the windscreen, hadn't thought of that.

Great video. 🙂
Didn't they fix that on the 21?
@@brentbradley6711 I think they did
A lot of these faults are common to a lot of bikes hard seats screen too low mudguards too low etc. In UK every bike should have heated grips and hand guards from new. I like your sense of humour 😁
Peter Broadey - thanks mate. Glad you didn’t take it seriously.
Took me a minute or so to realise the praise behind the lines. You must have had some tease from BMW or KTM owners, I would imagine.... Great stuff, thank you
Thanks mate. My last bike was a BMW 1150 GS that I had for 13 years.
Here's a few things to add to the list:
* The low fuel warning is flashing grey on grey!!! why didn't they make the speedo go red or something more noticeable?
* I find the display impossible to control - there's only 2 buttons but you need a phd to understand it.
* The manual might of helped but the writing is so small I can't read it.
* Having different size holes in the front disk would allow better fitting of various disk locks.
* When I turn the bike off my keys seem to always get stuck on that tiny bar.
* Also, why doesn't the wheel lock work at 100% turn rather than turning the bars all the way then backing off 10 degrees?
* The rear grab handle is smooth meaning bungee straps just slide around.
* The bike really needs a belt rather than a chain
Agree with your points on:
* Wind noise - anything above 70mph is deafening to me.
* The seating position - I can only take 2 hours before giving in.
Michael Robinson - ha! Love it.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff I was so full of anticipation then! Anyway, looking forward to hearing/seeing how your Tassie trip goes.
Brill. Your dry sense of humour second to none. Honda took note of your vid and have changed nothing. 👍
You're a real moaner aren't ya...all bikes will have at least 10 to 20 faults as you call it .. makes me wonder how you lived with the bike for so long..
Are you married, have you any faults.. watch out your misses will probably swap you out 😃
However I'd love to buy your Honda nc..you've done a great job....
Even after all the faults in your videos, I just love your work.. 🤣
💯 % Much appreciated man .... !!
Ha! Thanks. You wouldn’t believe how many people think I’m serious about the so-called “faults”.
I don’t think they watch till the end, or of they do, just miss the whole point.
Man I love the end of your video very nice that’s love!!! I am with you great Motorcycle.
Too funny, loved it! I agree with most point and learned to cope with them on my own NC750X. Thanks!!
Not offended in any way, I do appreciate these kind of videos. actually i just bought one today with a dct, this way i do not have to reinvent the wheel once again.
The camera trickery for the "wooden seat" was funny. Actually caught myself laughing out loud. lol
Thanks mate. I got the pegs from eBay and it’s no longer listed.
Search eBay for Honda NC750X foot pegs should find similar pegs.
OK some of these faults are options you didn't choose to buy or were not available at the time.
What is improved on thr latest model in comparison to your bike?
What might you consider as an alternative bike?
Mark Bennett - the point I was trying to make was there is no such thing as a perfect bike and that I’m completely happy with the one I’ve got.
Great honest, professional, best nc750. Academy award for best sound. 😊
Any Name - thanks mate. Appreciate your comments.
Very well done, I don't believe that a bike with zero faults exists.
Charles Spadowski - correct. Glad you saw through me.
Haha, that's the attitude. Lots of good problem solving you've done. What the bike does have going for it is that you're not going to find all the positives it has in a reasonably sized package with any of the other adventure bikes out there...
Edden Rabin - exactly. Thanks for seeing the slightly hidden intent in this video.
Yep. Tested the Africa Twin a couple of weeks ago. I have no problems with the NC handling but the AT was much better, more power etc. But then it is too tall, bad fuel consumption and costs £13k for the 2019 models being sold off now.
You nearly had me going there, mate. Just taken delivery of a 2020 XD and I already love it.
Good on you. Not everyone “got” it 😁
I loved the video Adrian, I'm surprised so many people didn't"get it", but then I think maybe English is quite a few people's 2nd, 3rd and 4th language and perhaps irony can be harder to spot (even if you did take your trousers off!).
I think this is my favourite bike channel, far fewer knee dragging hoons and haters commenting. NC riders are a far more friendly bunch.
Chris Porter - thanks mate I appreciate that. Nice to know a few people get my weird so called humour.
Pastor Fred - here in Oz 110 Kph is the max so I can’t comment on sustained speed over that.
Yes std screen with the after market deflector.
I love your videos and your sense of humour keep them coming 💜🏴
Thanks mate. Appreciate you commenting.
If only Honda can listen to this review to move this bike to a new level .. what you shed light on can have small and cheap fixes by the designers
At least a 19" front and the seat. Oooh, THAT seat!
Ain't happenin'. Never does; never will.
love it!!your sense of humour is right up my street.
cameron mcrae - thanks mate. Unfortunately some people were quite indignant 😂
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff i was worried a wee bit your were gonna change for a different bike lol (cammy)
all reasonable nit picks. any of these get fixed for the 2022 model?
Not actually nit picking. It’s just sarcastic humour. This could be done for any bike - which was my point.
Good video. All bikes need owner input to make it suit.
Great bike as you have it made to suit you and your needs.
Hi Adrian. When you installed the handlebar risers, did you have to lengthen the brake pipe, throttle cable etc? I bought a set of risers too, but when I released the clamp and tried to lift the handlebars, it appeared as though there wasn't enough play in any of those!
Stephen Lang - I didn’t replace any cables. My risers are 25mm.
I did have to trace down each cable and release all the cable ties.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff Ok, thanks, I'll give that a go!
Great Video 👍....
I still have my 2012 with 38000 miles....
I looked at this bike a month ago, seemed cheap build, decided wha I wanted was another BMW midsize, ordered a 2023 F750 GS, best display on the market, real cruise control, quick shift and Quality build....
Oh man, Norman, this video was so cool. So fun. You are our (NC driver's) RyanFnine :)
Thank you for your video. It gets better and better
Rot Green - ha. Settle down. I’m not RyanF9’s big toe. I’m a big fan of his channel.
But thanks for the vote of confidence.
So a few extras for under £3,000
I may yet acquire it as it would fit my requirements.
Thanks.
