Nice info. I don't have the quality of lakes that you have access to, but will certainly put this in my memory bank. Thanks.

Hreat video. I love this channel. It has a seminar feel with a lot of detail. I love the way you cover the specifics of each line of every bait you choose to talk about.

Enjoyed the video Randy. I really love throwing the Mega Bass Flat Slap, I would love to see the situations where you use the regular Flat Slap, the LBO, and the deep diving version. Keep up the good work, Mark

Randy, I know you were disappointed by the amount of views on some of your instructual videos, but for me they're invaluable. Hope you keep them coming. 👍👍👍

Never would have guessed your favorite would be a Mega ass. Don't guess you've ever heard of a #5 or #7 Shadrap ?

There's some kind of editing mistake in this video. It starts, then starts again, then returns to the original stream of thought.

I have more success on the Flap Slap than any of the other flat sided plastic baits. I do tend to use the balsa baits more in colder water.

Are these any good for South Florida? Our pre spawn is in Nov-Dec and bass are now mostly in the spawn phase and some are already post spawn 😉

Only thing I disagree with is the flat side isn’t as good after 55 degrees. I prefer flat sided or a tight wobbling crank bait over the square bills that have that wide unnatural wobble crank baits all year long and I don’t see a drop off in bites.

I use Sixth Sense flat sided Crush Flat 75X (5/8 oz) and their Flat Finesse F4 (1/2 oz). Both are squarebill cranks. Many options in colors and finishes such as matte, flashy, and translucent. The profiles match shad and sunfish. We use them in Maryland on the mill ponds, reservoirs, and rivers. Largemouth eat them in the summer. Rock (rockfish/striped bass) eat them too in the tidal creeks and rivers. Similar profile to spot and white perch. Blue cats will eat them up. Red drum (channel bass/ puppy drum) eat them. Work them with a pop and twitch when they hit the water after the cast. Crank them and twitch. Crank them and pause. Crank them thru wood and into rock. Hold on tight and enjoy the smash and run!
Thanks Randy for your details and inspiration!

What situations do flat sides work best

Shallow near the bank where the water starts to get deeper. If there is wood in these areas even better. I have one of the mega bass ones but also i love the strike king chick magnets. Cheaper and just as good.

Randy, You complain that no one watches you’re instructional videos, not all of us can afford to fish megabass lures. $20 for a crankbait or $25 bucks for a jerkbait leaves a lot of us out. Try including lures the average angler can afford and you will get my attention and I’m sure a lot of other anglers attention as well. You want more views, quit making videos just for the elite. They aren’t the anglers that need your knowledge nearly as much as us common folk!

Totally agree, he does this because he was sponsored by Megabass, he makes videos but TH-cam pays him too

Guys the video applies to just about all lures, if you have a flat side throw it. Everything isn’t literal. You don’t have to throw mega bass flat sides to catch fish. His information can be utilized with any flatside

This applies to all flat sided cranks...Doesn't mean megabass are the only ones that catch fish...It's his preference, so use the flats you buy & use his tips..that simple...people need some common sense

Pick up some bomber flat a's and apply what he said. You won't be disappointed and save yourself some money.

fishing up north you will get a few bite offs each day from toothy critters, can't justify 100 bucks in bites a day for sure.
