Love the fact that a sub 200$ mic has the lowest noise floor, and has had the record for a few generations
I love my nt1 very much, good idea to make it in more colors, but that color range make them look juvenile, We all want a Gold plated Nt1 😍
I hope they'll just add some classier shades.
At my studio, we keep a wide variety of microphones including ones from Rode, Neumann, Audio Technica, AKG, etc. My favourite mics are the Universal Audio Bock 187 and the Rode NT1 just purely based on my sound experiences on countless recording sessions with vocals and instruments. Rode have done an awesome job, but some of our clients prefer our high priced mics because of their notion that more expensive must mean better. That’s why we like recording people who have no idea about microphones. This way, we can find what works best based on sound alone regardless of price. The NT1 sure is a great mic!
Hey @sunnyboner676- we're truly flattered that the RØDE NT1 stands among your favorites in such a prestigious lineup - it's a testament to the dedicated craftsmanship we pour into our microphones. It's fantastic to hear that your unbiased approach to sound captures the essence of what we believe in: delivering top-notch quality, regardless of price. Keep trusting your ears, and thanks for the RØDE love! Looking forward to many more sessions with the NT1 at your studio. 🎙️🎶
This is the microphone I recommend to everyone for a home studio setup. Now, if we ever get something like a 2-in/2-out interface with those Revolution Preamps, I’m buying day one (the Procaster series is overkill for my needs, but dang…I love the quality on those preamps).
Thanks for the suggestion @lucabraccio! We know this is something lots of folks are looking for, so we'll pass your suggestion onto the team.
i bought mine literally a month ago and now theres a variety!!!! dang
Bought mine yesterday. Sounds great.
That's wonderful to hear John! Thanks for choosing RØDE 🙌
I'm glad to see the Big R decided to branch out with different colours for their flagship microphone. :) It's about time colours other than plain old black and silver had their day in the limelight - personally, I like the light blue and green looks. :)
Me encantan los colores, ya pedí el mío en color rosa para mi estudio🥰

Thanks for the cutting edge summary @Radiodotco!
I got my NT1 sometime around 1998 : )
Glad to hear it @petea! There's a reason classic mics like the NT1 maintain their status over the years- they've got talented users like yourself using them to push the envelope! 🎙️
Cool ❤
Tom Buck's blue.
I was hoping for an orange NT1, in fact I expected the same colors you already have, to differentiate who's connected with what.
I want Heen edition
The audio in this presentation is excellent! Can you please confirm that it is the realistic output of NT1 5th generation Mic? Thanks
Hey @EnlightenAstro- yep, we can confirm that the NT1 is the source audio for this video.
@@rodemic Excellent, thank you!
which generation is this series!? i love the older 4th gen but just bought a 5th gen after my 4th gen stopped working but would love another 4th gen in red! let me know.
This model has the same capsule and sound as the NT1 5th Generation, but can only be used in XLR mode.
Hi does connecting it to the audio interface give more quality compared to using the usb connection?
The quality of both should be very similar provided you are using a high quality interface as a preamp!
So affordable! So this specific mic would be great for recording an album??? It is that good?
Hey @iamstacs- absolutely. There have been many famous albums, singles and other performances recorded with mics in the NT1 series. It lives up to its legendary reputation!
Hello sir, I’m not good at English, I want to ask you one question
Nt1-A, Nt1 5 generation and Nt1 signature which one? I use to record vocal only. Thanks
Hey there @chheatchhiv7686, hope you're well! There are very small differences between the NT1-A and the other microphones you mentioned, so really there is only the question to ask yourself, which is, do you have a device which can convert XLR audio to your computer? If not, the NT1 5th Generation will be a great fit, as you can plug it straight into your computer. The other two will need a XLR USB audio interface.
@@rodemic I have interface use XLR. Thank you very much for your feedback.
Ciao, ma questo modello signature è stato completamente riprogettato rispecchio al vecchio nt1 nero? Grazie!
Hey there- this mic and the all-black NT1 4th Generation use the same capsule, so they have a very similar sonic profile. However, the internal circuitry in the NT1 Signature Series is even lower, which allows it to reach an immensely low self-noise of 4dBA, compared to 4.5dBA in the 4th Generation.
@@rodemic because the cost is lower?
Can you please confirm that does the Signature Series have 32-bit float like the 5th gen or not?
Hey there! That's a tricky one to answer. It's an analogue XLR microphone, so whether or not your digital recordings using it have 32-bit float will depend on what audio interface you're using. In comparison, the NT1 5th Generation also has USB mode, so it can be used as a digital USB microphone with a computer directly, so your recordings will have 32-bit float.
To put it another way: only digital microphones and interfaces can have 32-bit float, so the NT1 Signature Series by definition can't have it.
@@rodemic Thank you so much for the well explained guidance. Just purchased mine signature series and looking forward to receive it! 🤩
does this nt1 signature series sound like the "old" nt1 or does it sound like the "new" nt1 5th gen ?
Hey @InaktiveUser, it uses the same capsule and has the same sonic profile as the NT1 5th Generation.
does it work with MAC OS Sonoma? My podmic usb stopped working
Hey @moizter, these are XLR microphones, so you'll need a USB audio interface like a RØDE AI-1, or RØDECaster in order to use them.
When Apple launched Sonoma, there were some compatibility challenges for RØDE users on Intel-based Macs, these have been resolved by the release of 14.1. If you've updated your Mac to the latest version, 14.1, and you're still having issues with your PodMic USB, please contact us here: rode.com/en/support/contact
Pls can you guys make the nt 1 series smaller....?😢
Thanks for the suggestion for an orange colour, @PawFromTheBroons! Will pass that onto the team.
@@rodemic Wrong comment?
Hey Rode, could you release a silver one?
Hey @baxthered, we aren't releasing a silver model for this product at the moment, but you can get a silver NT1 5th Generation!
@@rodemic or a white one like the vintage one to confuse Reverb lol
Nice colours Apple (cough), I mean R0DE.
Hey RODE! I just receved my NT1 Signature Edition! Mic is sounding great! However, i'm getting some low end build up below 50hz that seems to be baked into any recording i'm doing. My other mics don't do that. Could you help me this? I've sent in a support email. Thanks!
Hey @dinhewage288, thanks for letting us know about your experience and thanks for getting in touch with our service team as well. They've got lots of experience dealing with challenges like this so they'll be able to help you out. Thanks for hanging in there!
Were have you been Ryan?
Can i use togheter nt1 5th gen with ps1+ ?
Yes you can!
Cool. Good sound !
What cheap sound card can I use with it ?
Hi Rode. You have a repeated typo! At 1:49 and again at the 2:28 mark, you spell condenser 'condensor'. Cheers😉👍
The only thing we ask for are NT1's that actually work. There is an issue that have been affecting the NT1-A for many years and still happens on the 5th Gen versions, mics that doesn't work, or may work randomly, you may be working with it and then suddenly stop working and won't work again maybe for days!
Now with the 5th Gen version, this failure happens no matter if you're on XLR or USB mode...
Hey there- our NT1 microphones are some of the most reliable studio condensers on the market, and we take these issues very seriously.
Our NT1 microphones like the NT1-A and NT1 5th Generation have 10 years of warranty from us directly, so if you're experiencing any issues with these products we recommend that you get in contact with our support team here for a repair or replacement: rode.com/en/support/contact
Now you can by a red Røde ... or as we say in Sweden. En röd Röde. (our Ø looks Ö ...) ... I am really curious on why an Australian company chooses a name with a Danish/Norwegian Ø???
Good question @SanoyNimbus! The short answer is that when our founder started this company, the "Ø" in the name was a way of paying homage to his family's Scandanavian heritage.
RODE Connect app too much bug in mac,fix it ple
Hi @mightliu- sorry to hear RØDE Central is crashing on your Mac. We recommend deleting the app and installing it again off our website. If this still doesn't work, feel free to get in contact with our support team here: rode.com/en/support/contact
well they sold out pretty fast :D
We'll be restocking the colors in the next few days! We'd recommend joining the waitlist now if you'd like these coloured variants of the NT1 Signature Series.
Why don't you sell this?
Hey there, we are currently selling this mic through our website and also through our distributors. You can learn more here: rode.com/microphones/studio-condenser/nt1-signature-series
No white one ;(
You'll have to get the white PodMic instead!
The pod mic is a soup can. I cant believe there isn't a white nt1 to go with the white psa1+.
Sigh
Its like companies don't even speak with their customers any more.
Aaaaand they're gone.
If you're talking about the colors, we've just restocked them @edclevel402! You can find them here: brandstore.rode.com/products/nt1-signature-series
Its a scrap. twice the microphone is dead. Every time we have to send it to the service partner, but the mic will come with same problem will occur. 10 year warranty is only on paper, If you can't repair a new mic which had a problem please do not fool public.
