    We understand empathy just fine, we just don't have it. It's not that we don't recognize other people's emotions, anxiety, etc., it's just that we don't share them viscerally. Our understanding of them is disinterested and clinical. We still have access to all our rational faculties when we process that kind of information (like danger) which is why we don't panic and can stay clear headed.

      Yep, I view what others consider to be "psychopathy" coupled with excess intellect in me to be a gift. I couldn't possible fathom having an emotional palet that would make me lose my calm in stressful situations, or to be suceptible to prolonged sadness or depression. That would be hell on earth 😂

      There was this 80’s movie called “Deadly Friend”…it reminded me of what you’re talking about on how we see empathy. I guess seeing it clinically is better than not seeing it at all? It’s hard work you know…masking all the time. Some people have limits…

    I like it when people point out that not all of them are murderers, there is such a stigma towards psychopaths. We can't treat people like monsters when they did not choose to be born different. Temple Grandin says "The world need all kind of minds" and I agree, the example of the surgeon was a good one. We can all be useful, and there is bad people even among those that are considered "normal".

    • @kingsleyobi7057
      @kingsleyobi7057 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      That kind of mindset towards psychopaths is just wrong. They didn't choose to be built that way, yes, but it doesn't make them any less dangerous. They're dangerous and should be treated so. The thing is that they don't even care about how you treat them. They don't feel bad.

    • @kingsleyobi7057
      @kingsleyobi7057 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      There are crimes that may not be criminalized by the constitution. Things like manipulation, gaslighting, bullying, inveigling etc. Those things mentioned is not a joke to the victim at the receiving end.

      "psychopaths" are not a race that needs to be accepted and integrated. A psychopath is not a stray doggie looking for acceptance and warm cuddles. Psychopaths are simply people who suffer of a mental deviancy who need to be treated, hopefully in the near future when we'd be able to learn more about the human brain and how to fix such "bugs".

    I am a recovering Psychopathic predator. I was one of the worst. No guilt or remorse combined with pornography resulted in 30 years of countless people I hurt. When I think about it, its like im watching a movie because I dont want to believe thats its real but it is. It all changed after my girlfriend died. One day I took flowers to her grave and while sitting there with her I realized that the pain I felt from loosing her was exactly the same pain I caused so many others. Since then I attend church regularly and gave my life to God.

Even before I knew his diagnosis, I had told him “I feel like I could die right in front of you and you wouldn’t care. You’d have no emotion over it”. Me dying would not trigger remorse or guilt in him. Nothing would. So it’s interesting this opened your eyes to your own behavior! I’m sorry for your loss

    Psychopathy is a form of antisocial personality disorder and person who is not committing antisocial behavior is not a psychopath, but rather can posses other neurological anomalities which are similar looking as psychopaths from PET scan. It is false to tell that surgery or business leaders who have "cold blood" are psychopaths. Psychopaths are very different than you explain here.

      Nope.
      Psycopaths are the internal problems.
      Psychopaths lack pro social emotions.
      ASPD is behaviour. Normies without personality disorders also can be diagnosed ASPD.
      You can be a non offending Psycopath. You may lack the sadism 🤷
      Again, you are the one that's effectively bought into stigma or media level propaganda about a superhuman level of a cold blooded predator that simply doesn't actually exist to THAT degree unless that's the persona they have chosen. 🤷
      You chose a doctor. You adapted behaviour and emotions and fake them, even to yourself pretty effectively, you are me, it's okay to be different, loneliness doesn't describe the infliction this is. It's pure reclusiveness, even around people. That's Psycopathy... :(

But the ones who didn’t choose this life can still choose to be productive members of society who refuse to feed their antisocial behaviors and animalistic desires, with God’s help. I’m not saying I have seen this happen, just sharing a personal belief that it is possible. Regardless, no one but the Creator can judge the heart. I think we should have love for our fellow humans, even and especially the ones who don’t know how to love you back. That’s all I meant to say, but I remember my words weren’t flowing that day. Good content and it is easy to understand you, but then the music comes in and destroys the experience.

    Please check the theory of rajas, Tamara and satvik guans on which the varna system is based.
