I always liked Dophin, while she was kinda obscure. I think her best moment was when she ask her husband Tempest to quit 90s Titans so they focus on their relationship and their son. It show layers to both characters. (Both continue to fight crime in Aquaman's title with minor and major appearance after that.)
Even as a comics reader, I can't say I know Dolphin. I absolutely loved her in Young Justice though. They did a really job establishing her character and building her into the world. Here she just feels like Kaldur's little sister and it's amazing.
She's a minor Aquaman character. Not all that important really. She helps out here and there, but honestly, the most notable thing about her is that she dated Garth/Tempest for awhile
I mean why doesn't she reveal her name, it wasn't a problem wirh Kal-dur considering his biological father and its very unlike the atlanteans would judge her for what she's done in the past considering their very accepting of others.
Considering she has completely abandoned her old life in order to become an Atlantean, I think it's safe to say the issue isn't what she's done in the past; it's what her family has done, continues to do, and how they see and treat her. She implies that she wasn't treated well in Mumbai, and if she really has just dropped her old life as a teenager from India to embrace being a young adult from Atlantis, it's safe to assume her family is part of why she's happier where she is now. Now she's far away from them, where they basically cannot reach her without growing gills of their own - and you can tell just how safe she feels because of it, never mind the whole "surrounded and best friends with Atlantean Royalty/Famous Superheroes" side of her protection lol
i think she just wasn’t sure if she wanted her old name or a new name but she ends up choosing her name (delphis) once she got more accustomed to atlantean life

When they first met her, they wanted to try and establish communication so they could try and get her back home - a hero's first instinct upon seeing a lost child, however old is, "their family must be worried sick for them, let's get them reunited.." However, Delphis knows that giving info about her old life means potentially reestablishing those connections. Remember how worried Violet was to go to her biological parents even though she didn't know anything about them? We always knew exactly why Violet was nervous, but the most we've gotten from Delphi has been vague allusions on the same lines as Joshua Sweet's warning about The Mole's backstory from Atlantis: The Lost Empire ("Trust me on this one - YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW. Audrey, don't tell him. You shouldn't have told me, but you did, and now I'M telling YOU; you don't wanna know.") Violet didn't know what she'd be returning home to, but from all of Delphis' actions and behavior, I'm willing to bet her family are either egregious classists in the caste system India is known for, or they're like an Indian Mob/high power gang.

This is what I love about young justice, so many obscure heros and villains that I never thought I'd see on screen and in such a good animation style
