Usually the social media theme comes across as cringy but it is done well in this. She is also a proper threat. This show and the Batman one did well with the characters. Looking at these and the latest live action DCEU, one wonders where it all went wrong.

It's strange to think that both her and Harley Quinn were original creations of their respective shows but while Harley became one the all time super villains, Livewire pretty much faded from mainstream comics despite having a great personality
She just needs a little bit more attention and a makeover to be more relevant. If a show could capitalize on that, she would easily take the scene again.

I wish they keep his human hairstyle but with the blue colour if she comes back in a new animated series.
Harley also had the benefit of being paired with arguably THE greatest all time super villain, Joker. Seeing how seamlessly she played off him AND Batman, you could see why she stayed. Livewire does have a solid personality, but she feels like a one-off villain. I'm sure someone could do something really interesting with her one day though.
They need to do more with her. Because Superman didn’t have female villains. Till this show

Livewire's origin in the comics was very different in the comics and after she got her powers from a thunderbolt after she tried to destroy the radio tower, she went after the ones who fired her at the radio studio who fired her for bad mouthing Superman!

Comicbook Livewire was a latent metahuman whose powers activated when she was struck by regular lightning. In this one, the lightning passed through Superman before hitting her. By passing through a super-powered Kryptonian, something changed with the lightning and it gave her powers instead of leaving her with electrical burns.

I always got a Harley Quinn vibe from her, and she had so much potential to be one of Superman’s memorable and interesting “villain”. Though for some reason I always thought she could so easily be a someone like Black Cat or Catwoman for Superman. I have to go back to see the series. It was one of the last cartoons I remember that was actually good and fun to see.

Realistically, Livewire is what I think J. Jonah Jameson would turn out to be when he gets powers to take on Spider-Man himself. Or atleast a version of him because I believe there are versions of him that does turn out to like Spider-Man at some point.
Actually there's a universe where JJJ becomes spider man and he learns that he must be accountable for everything along with holding others accountable for their actions as well

Theory is she always had a meta gene related to energy. But it took being electrocuted to activate it. Explains her physical appearance change since the gene also effected her skin and hair.
Have to come back here because I HATE what they did to her in that awful new animated series (and Silver Banshee too but this is about Livewire). They made her incredibly generic and boring, and she blends in with all the other generic and boring-designed villains. The thing I love about OG Livewire is that she was a regular girl, just some sleazy narcissistic radio show host. And the moment she got powers she went on a power trip as a selfish, joyriding bitch. And I ADORED that, it made her so fun as a villain.
I swear this chick is a hypocrite. She talks a big game, but she never listens to anyone but herself. Even as Livewire she can’t see that it was her fault. Now she’s a pure electric energy being who can do whatever she wants.

This is what we have ended up with and where we see the demands that there is sexism in the work place yet that's only for positions of power. Why do the villains seem to get control of their new found powers faster than the superheroes?
It’s easy to use your power as a weapon than to learn how to control it to protect and save others effectively with little damage to the area. Villains don’t care and just go full instinct with it so it’s just natural.
Superman has so many villains that get overlooked when WB does movies.

Interesting fact: In the comics for this series she and Superman become allies. She even saves his life.
Characters like these are well written foils to the archetypical masculine dynamic. Bane can brute force his way around Batman's gadgets, but eventually he can be coerced under his own lumbering weight
But Harley Quinn flirts with the lines Batman won't cross and ultimately proves that Batman has to resort to some kind of violence in dealing with her, whether it be a pair of hand cuffs or a net
With Live Wire here, she can't be punched or roped into submission. She is invariably what women want, an escape from mortality and the bounds of ethical obligations. This is what makes partaking in the fruit so dangerous. Instead of living harmoniously with nature and abiding within its laws, the resort to using knowledge to gain an advantage over nature, despite not having the discipline or self control to maintain it
What does a living embodiment of lighting want with money, other than to trivialize men for having to earn it? She sucks because for all that power and control she won't do anything useful or imaginative with it to let *us* know that she can be trusted to govern the lightning. Which is what you want out of a working circuit, a world that assures us of some baseline we can all aspire to work out in

Her problems with super as follows:
"He's never around when you need him!"
1. Literally comes to people's rescue at the speed of sound and stops crises all the time including going up into the atmosphere to hear cries of help or problems to go help people and has worked with not only the U.S. government to do relief projects but has worked with the UN.
"He only cares about himself!"
2. Literally puts himself in danger whether or not he is in actual danger or not to help others on thousands of separate occasions across the world and the universe and alternate realities. He tries to rehabilitate villains which has worked in the past. He constantly tried to impart good will and doing the right thing ideologies to others and set an example. He always thinks of others before himself sometimes to his detriment.
"Life is just too easy for him!"
3. Oh boy you walked into this like well polished glass. For one thing your struggles and Superman's struggles are very different so don't compare yourself to him or you will generally lose. Superman wouldn't dismiss the struggles you had to go through in life as insignificant and I agree that there are cases where a woman gets the raw deal but you lose all credibility when you're saying things from the comfort of your talk show booth without a care in the world criticizing someone for all the problems they're not guilty of. Superman has to constantly deal with not only physical challenges but mental ones as well. Because of his enhanced hearing and perception he has to constantly block out all noise and other sensory sensations that could overload his sensory system such as the brightness of the world the sounds that he hears the things that he can taste he has to constantly meet her all of his senses to keep himself in check. he has to constantly take care to not go to overboard when in a populated place as he could cause more damage than the people that he's fighting sometimes. Not to mention he always tries to uphold his moral code even in the face of truly monstrous individuals similar to how Batman also has to keep his composure and to hold true to his moral code. He doesn't let petty things get to him cuz he's above that and he's fought far worse so he's not going to let small things get to him whereas small things such as someone insulting you right to your face could get to other people. He has to try to set and be an example to others. He has other threats not only on earth but also in space that are gunning for his life. And not only that he has to help run and maintain things like the Justice League later when that gets established. So a lot of the workplace scrutiny that you have suffered I'm not going to try to denounce nor ignore but if you're going to take the time to compare yourself to Superman then you better be prepared for the things Superman has had to leap in hurdle over and see that wow a lot of the s*** I have to deal with isn't really anything in comparison which is why you shouldn't make the comparison.

It’s not like she’s an electrical tech expert or someone adept in science, turning herself in pure energy like that when her powers first manifested just isn’t logical…. It should really come with training

Why though? Turning into energy isn't something she had to figure out. At best it's like walking. We all learn how to do it with a little practice. At best she should have had problems maintaining the form for long periods of time, but she didn't need to be a genius to figure out how her own powers work.
Plus it's a cartoon with a limited screen time and she wasn't the main character.
