Bruce took one look at Inque as a solid object and recognised something was off. Inque noticed and is why she calls him a threat.

Bats was trained by the league of assassin before he started his gig. The Robins/Batgirl were under Batmans tutelage and always by his side during missions.
Terry was thrown into the pit of wolves on his first day alone with little to no training and experience only supported by an aging Bruce via comms.

Inque is such a good character. Too bad we didn't see more of her.
We do end up seeing more of her in the comics.
Design-wise she's an amazing character. Lore wise, the character is completely lacking. I feel like since villains are one of the best qualities to DC Comics, she falls flat as a Clayface clone without much to make her stand out. If her motivations were out of desperation or revenge, she would have been a more interesting character. Her sole motivation is greed.

Her behavior towards men and Deanna's lack of a known father both suggest that she was raped and that Deanna was born from one such rape. And she didn't want Deanna to have the same disadvantages in life that she did.

Honestly, Inque is so cool. Liquid body that can sink into crevices and teansform into different weapons. Not super OP too since she has a weakness to water, electricity, and ice if she isnt careful. A bit of backstory too on why she needs money.

@@xaracen7207 well I think the research that went into making Mr Freeze's body in Batman beyond was actually being funded by old Bruce Wayne but I don't see any references so I could be wrong but when Derek Powers got involved that research was turned over to a Miss lake she was the scientist that designed Mr Freeze's body but then when it started to fail she equally trapped him inside a room that was hot to slowly kill him The sad part is if they had simply told him that the body was failing and that they could switch him out into another body but they didn't My theory is that Derek Powers didn't want the idea that he was also trying to create bodies for himself to come out because that would have told the entire world that something was wrong with him
She was one of the better villains in the show. She should've appeared more often I feel.

The best villain
She’s like Clayface 2.0. Fast, slick and much more durable since she manages to survive her fights. Except she doesn’t shape shift that much and not seen in the rest of the season. Still I give her props on being deadly.

When you get down to it, Inque has an insanely strong power. 100% control of a fluid form allowing for precise sabotage, near invulnerability to physical harm, near perfect stealth capabilities.
So long as her work doesn't involve being at an aquarium or a dock.
It'd be interesting to see her fight a superhero like Firestorm who has transmutation powers.

Inque is such a fascinating villain. And I love that her strengths and weaknesses have similarities to the Clayface we knew in the DCAU. It makes perfect sense that Bruce is standing there all cool and steady with the hose while Terry is jumping around fighting her. Bruce knows exactly what to do from his own time with the cowl.
He doesn't though. Unlike Clayface, Inque isn't slow and clumsy. Matt Hagen was an actor, not a fighter, and he relied on his mass to get the job done. Inque on the other hand was a smaller and quicker target who's had years to hone her technique doing what she does. Even if Bruce were in his prime, he wouldn't have beaten her without some help

Inque is easily the best villain in the beyond series. I would love to see her come back in a new game or show. If we have a batman Arkham beyond with her as a major antagonist, it would be one of the best things ever!
I think Powers is more interesting being both Bruce and Terry's enemy but yeah she's still awesome tho

I honestly thought the whole slime villain tropes have been overly used like Clayface, Liquidator (Darkwing Duck), Hydro-Man, Venom, and Carnage (Spider-Man); but Inque makes it clear that it can still work with good writing and character traits.
Such a great character. She whooped Terry's ass and came back stronger each time. Her downfall (as with many other SUCCESSFUL supervillains) was probably her arrogance.
To this day she is me, my brother's and my cousin's favorite villain from that show. She could take down a LOT of popular characters nowadays but of course they'd likely weaken her in newer plots by sicking Aquaman on her or something.
In all fairness, Aquaman is one of the DC heavy hitters.

That was the point. Showed that even though had the best tech but non of the honed training Bruce went through, he needed to rely on his street smarts and friends to get the job done
Just as much as bruce does to. But batman always comes back.
It made it more fun to root for him. He for sure wasn't a "Mary Sue" or a "Gary Stu". Even with his training, if he didn't have his Bat suit, he'd be dead rather quick.

It’s not that she knew it better it’s just that Inque trusted her and was willing to take a shot. If Bruce had the same opportunity he could have done something similar.

The way Inque manipulates the weak guy is the perfect analogy of an arrogant bad girl. No matter how much she goes bad on him, he still does everything for her, but without him there is no power hence why she continues to do it.

The guy is an idiot, he released a dangerous criminal that he was in love with and had no problem with her trying to kill Batman just so he could be with her and get her powers, in a sense I could say he was a different take of Harley Quinn to her Joker, except he doesn't last the episode and his fate is entirely deserved and not worth seeing again, and once she is done with him she never needs him again. She didn't ask him to do anything for him, he is the one who did something on his own accord entirely, they never talked before until she was released by him, he had one sided conversations with her the entire time while she most likely would have prefered if he would just shut up.
Her animation is absolutely amazing

The animation quality is so stylish and crazy, considering its made around 2000
Season 1 aired in Jan 1999. They would've made during 1998. Final season came out in 2001.
I like how Inque is Terry’s “Joker” in some ways but also has a lot of similarities too Clay face really cool character definitely needs more screen time.

Batman Beyond is so underrated. All the characters are good & it has an interesting premise. I kinda honestly want a live action movie
Honestly most of the villains on the show were a bit lackluster except for Inque and maybe one or two others. But all in all it was a great example of how to follow up on the original story and create a proper next gen series. My favorite episode probably has to be when Terry is sent to visit Bane, only to discover a decrepit atrophy-ridden body that was once a monster of an adversary to Bruce.

For as progressive as DC claims to be these days, they're missing some big opportunities to have shows and movies feature very interesting villians and heroes from broader demographics in their absolutely huge back catalog.

Inque seems to be more ruthless though; and because of that might be more dangerous to encounter.
DC could make Batman Beyond live action and feature Inque as the big bad, or even an antihero like Mister Freeze looking to stabilize her condition
Though I would abhor it because DC would likely fuck up the Batman Beyond IP.
DC’s big issue is making cool ass characters and then abandoning them for money makers and just turning them into little easter eggs.

Alright so basically, in the Justice League Unlimited episode Epilogue, Terry (the Batman we see here) is revealed to be Bruce's son. Behind this is Amanda Waller, who used Bruces DNA to overwrite Terry's original father reproductive DNA, to ensure there would still be a Batman in the future, because a world without Batman is unacceptable. Terry only found about this later, he didn't know his actual father was Bruce Wayne, until the episode Epilogue. The reason for as to why Terrys parents were chosen, is because they were the closest match to Bruces parents psychology wise.

I had this stuff on VHS, watched it a lot, the ink movement as mesmerizing to me as a kid. The scene where she invaded batmans body was freaky as hell.

Terry killed more than a few of his villains and we got barely-sanitized onscreen deaths of numerous people. Beyond was built different.
Man, inque was such a cool villain. She a professional that more or less beats the hell out of terry every time they meet, isn’t afraid to bail if she’s on the job but IS petty enough to absolutely mop the floor with terry for getting in her way.
Also helps that they absolutely nailed it with the animation for her, the fluid in motion is always interesting to watch. The fluid isnt too “gloopy” slow moving like how i’ve seen a lot of other shows animate “goo” villains, even as a puddle inque always moves with speed, intention, and urgency.
Would love to see inque or another goo villain done in the same way in more animated media sometime.

Inque is the modern-day Clayface in Batman Beyond. The only difference is that she is a mercenary and she cares about her daughter.
I don't watch Batman but seeing villains like this makes me want to see it. I wish that instead of it all being the joker there were more interesting and powerful villains like this.
The Animated Series and Batman Beyond gave screen time to many (nearly all) of Batman's villains. I highly recommend both. They can have funny, intense, and incredibly poignant storylines.
Definitely the sexiest of Batman Beyond's rouge gallery.

Not shown, but Ink betrayed her pathetic assistant who for months was working as her care-taker while she was frozen. She gave him only half the formula. Causing his body to become thick plasma that couldn't even properly move around.

Inque was more than Harley Quinn from the start. She wasn't some obsessed follower who needed to take all of her bosses tricks. She was a cold, selfish and incredibly formidable foe with a unique ability that had to force old man Bruce to come out of the cave to save Terry's life
