At best, she's 18-19 in season 3, but even with knowing that there are certain scenes in S4 that feel kinda odd, almost like Kaldur and Wynnde are about to invite her into their relationship. Thankfully I don't believe that would be done.
SHIIEEET. 'Ol man Greg, aka Uncle Ruckus, wasn't _about_ to let that go down. During seasons 1+2, did you notice how Kal'dur was the _only_ guy not getting any action? That is, not until Rocket showed up. Greg and most of the other Hollywood writers tend to have a "Plantation" like mentality. Of _course_ they'd rather pair him with some guy, than with some _non black_ female. The same goes for Static+ Cyborg. Be thankful that BL was able to break off a piece, even if it was a short relationship. It's possible that at least one of the writers had a stroke during that scene. 🤣
I feel like they spent both too much and not enough time with this character... She could have been a good medium to segue into into Atlantis, which they did use her for, but then they had her give this deeply insightful speech to Kaldur about his doubts which leads us to think she's going to play a role in the rest of the season (or at the very least least in his arc)... And then they just cut her off of the script. She's right in the middle of "too much character development" and "not enough use of a character".
apon a second viewing, beast boy closed his eyes when he was effectively using his nose/face to push her (by her booty lol) into the bioship. what a gentleman XD
Not really. Imagine how much more you could explore underwater and how many things you could see. Anything else would just make you faster or stronger or be able to fly which really isn’t all that.

From personal experiense sea water is pretty good at closing small wounds. Helped me twice. Just a very small scar now. Before that i would not believe skin could grow so fast.
In a sense she did. A big part of empathy is being able to pick up on subtle ques to someone's mood and piecing together the clues as to what lies behind it. Dolphin noticed that Kaldur became unhappy when the King mentioned Professor Ivo, and was able to figure out that the reason was Kaldur had lied to him about something involving that. However, it may be that she was already naturally empathic (meaning she could already do this) before the Muta-gene was activated.
If i remember correctly, Calvin Durham was a manta soldier genetically altered for an undercover mission in Atlantis, but met Kaldurs mother and defected. Not clear on how Manta became Kaldurs father, though
0:50 Beast Boy just showing his face on her ass, my man knows what he likes and I can respect that. She on the other hand looked highely surprised about it, and then beeing looked up in a strange ship while BB has a creepy dolphine smirk on his face might not be the best thing in the mind of some one who just had been kidnaped.
Someone else pointed out that Beast Boy kept his eyes shut while he pushed her to Bioship, also he ain’t creepy at all he’s happy at a successful rescue!
Did no one ever think how weird this scene is? The pacing and action. Presumably, Kaldur meets girl, none of them can understand each other, but kaldur knows she wants to go to Atlantis. They arrive, and only then, does kaldur use translation magic 🤨 Oh and also, in all that time, no one has run a background check on her, find out her name, wheres shes from etc. "Oh you never introduced yourself" And she's also used as a device to ask a question that the answer can be self-evident.
I think it was implied that her relationship with her parents or other relatives is toxic since she’s been lied to (possibly a lot) and probably didn’t have many human friends before being rescued, but a background check on her would have still been nice since they did one for Halo.
@@MiraculousHolder365 ur just assuming they didnt. If they had a verification wouldn't they ha e tried to put her there first and then move her later if needed? It was just never found. Remember that all metas were almost always kidnapped runaways.

The design of her character reminds me a lot of Disney’s Atlantis the lost empires princess…I think her name was…Kida like a short form of her full name but I love the design.
I wonder if those power suppression collars would even work on her. Those are some hefty physical changes, kinda doubt one would make her able to breathe air again. Though maybe a device like what Abe Sapien from the Hellboy movies had might work.
The inability to breathe out of water may present a problem, but Triton of the Inhumans had a similar disadvantage which he corrected with a breathing apparatus
She may not be seen much about water considering the nature of her powers but maybe they were searching for solutions when at the teen center they could always give her a spongebob style helmet 😂 but she’s definitely a character the writers like

When I first saw Dolphin, I was like "YESSIR, my man Aqualad finna get all up in that 💪🏿"
Then I saw the end of the episode, I was like "Nevermind 😮"

I feel like they will have her appear in kaldur arc in season 4
@@bashengatheblackmanta7003 correcto mundo!
They tend to circle back around to arcs after a while. Hopefully her presence also helps him find peace about aqua girl too
I think that’s a plus for the show though. Everyone has great character moments
apon a second viewing, beast boy closed his eyes when he was effectively using his nose/face to push her (by her booty lol) into the bioship. what a gentleman XD
shhh
She nice tho
It’s nice that they’re so warm and welcoming to someone from the surface world
Beast boy: Are these...gills?
Me: No she's growing a second pair of ar- YES THERE GODDAMN GILLS
Simping over a cartoon character smh lol don't go jumping in the screen and killing him now 😂.
Imagine getting kidnapped to get powers only to get awakened... as a fish, biggest let down ever
Not really. Imagine how much more you could explore underwater and how many things you could see. Anything else would just make you faster or stronger or be able to fly which really isn’t all that.
Eh, could be worse. It’s better than someone like Neutron.
@@bread6830 she can’t go back to the surface my dude
Also being called “Dolphin” even though dolphins breathe air not water and simply hold their breathe under water like a human would.
At least she aint gotta be afraid of tsunamis anymore
0:38 Beast Boy turning into a dolphin probably gave her the idea calling herself "Dolphin". I like it. Goes well for someone who fights underwater.
Beastboy assumed that she was a saltwater fish /j
I was just thinking that 🤣
damn I didn't even think about that. If she was freshwater then she would of exploded.
@@hunterl5802 is that what really happens 😆
@@johnnyboy4948 Ya lmao, thats what happens when you put SOME freshwater fish in saltwater, they explode but most of the others shrivels up and dies. now if beast boy threw her in fresh water then she would bloat up and straight up explodes

Yes, I'm sure all that *salt* water would do wonders for open wounds.
@@JaelinBezel 😱
From personal experiense sea water is pretty good at closing small wounds. Helped me twice. Second one was a deep chemical burn, small but looked awful all wet and shit, bled too sometimes, doctor did some stuff but to little avail, sea water closed it in a week after i got wet by mistake and noticed progress. Just a very small scar now.
Before that i would not believe skin could grow so fast.

Did she gain empathy in addition to her new physiology? I never understood if that was her power or otherwise?
she is just good at reading him and or others
@@zeokingsilver Yeah and if shes like the comics, she should have Bioluminescence powers as well
@@SubzeroBlack68 hard to say there are two different versions of her in the comics and who knows which she might get the powers of
@@zeokingsilver she might get more power later
In a sense she did. A big part of empathy is being able to pick up on subtle ques to someone's mood and piecing together the clues as to what lies behind it. Dolphin noticed that Kaldur became unhappy when the King mentioned Professor Ivo, and was able to figure out that the reason was Kaldur had lied to him about something involving that. However, it may be that she was already naturally empathic (meaning she could already do this) before the Muta-gene was activated.
I wish they would bring this character to live action.
They are
Wait….one of Kaldur’s parents were from San Diego?!?! Alright, that’s what’s up.😎😎😎😎
That his step dad his real father is black manta
If i remember correctly, Calvin Durham was a manta soldier genetically altered for an undercover mission in Atlantis, but met Kaldurs mother and defected. Not clear on how Manta became Kaldurs father, though
@@jacobjantke6886 We also don't know if she's Kaldur's bio mom or adopted mom.

Dolphins are creepy. Learn about dolphins attacking humans (it does happen) and you'll see what I mean.
dolphins like fish, and it unfortunately smelled fishy.
They arrive, and only then, does kaldur use translation magic 🤨
Oh and also, in all that time, no one has run a background check on her, find out her name, wheres shes from etc.
"Oh you never introduced yourself"
And she's also used as a device to ask a question that the answer can be self-evident.

I would like to know just what the hell she ever saw in Black Manta? She seems so loving and gentle in spirit, completely the opposite of a violent mercenary who might also have a speciesism-complex with Atlanteans.

Why name yourself Dolphin if you literally can't breathe air? Did this girl flunk marine biology
lmfaooo
Maybe she just likes dolphins. Or maybe it's her way of thanking Beastboy (who was a dolphin at one point), who originally saved her
Her name always bugged me when I first heard about her in the Aquaman comic.
There is a fish known as Dolphinfish (or Mahi-Mahi). It's a green-blue fish with a big billboard-brow.
chill out mistertwat
Glad the producers included the "Sub-Diego" story arc in this series...

The design of her character reminds me a lot of Disney’s Atlantis the lost empires princess…I think her name was…Kida like a short form of her full name but I love the design.
she is giving me ALLURAAA
Thanks for uploading.
Wished she had more powers than just underwater breathing. Would've looked epic.
1:34 Just realised that's the voice of Rampart from Apex
Wow, holy shit it always eluded me somehow that Kaldur was holding hands with the other guy xD
I wonder if those power suppression collars would even work on her.
Those are some hefty physical changes, kinda doubt one would make her able to breathe air again.
Though maybe a device like what Abe Sapien from the Hellboy movies had might work.
Beast boy really just copped a feel 0:51
OK off topic cuz this vid is abt dolphin but like I need more Garth screentime😭😭😭he is my favorite aqualad😭😭😭😭😭😭
It was obvious that she'll get a spot in s4
The inability to breathe out of water may present a problem, but Triton of the Inhumans had a similar disadvantage which he corrected with a breathing apparatus
Thought it was canceled
She may not be seen much about water considering the nature of her powers but maybe they were searching for solutions when at the teen center they could always give her a spongebob style helmet 😂 but she’s definitely a character the writers like
