But as I watched his video I noticed a lot of emotionalism, ad hominem, and claims made that we (the viewers) were simply expected to accept as true. If you're in hyper critic mode against a movement you can always find negative things to focus on. However there's just as much positive if not more if he's actually TRYING to find it, which is highly doubtful in my honest opinion. Look up John Mellor. He's in Australia. To the Winger defenders...do you really believe Mike's claims are substantiated?
    Many of Mike's explanations of Pastor Benny's intentions and motivations rely on the pre-established assumption that "Pastor Benny is a bad guy," and therefore, they don't provide substantial proof. Instead, they merely assume his guilt and build from there.
    His "proof" really is convincing only to those who already agree with him.
    If you don't share his view, like me it just comes across as a series of assumptions and situations interpreted with a personal negative bias, dislike of the man and funny enough, cessationist-tinted glasses, despite him supposedly being Charismatic.
    And that's fine everyone's allowed to have opinions but parading these assumptions as facts will always lead to people checking you on them.
    And not to mention using these assumptions as valid reasons to hurl insults. That's frankly low-class behaviour you'd only really expect from a child, not an elder in the body of Christ.

And he lies. And he has a lavish, luxurious lifestyle. These are well-known facts that Mike also knows. You have clearly shown (in all three videos) that Winger is indeed making demonstrably, unverifiable claims, and that is all you're doing. Thus, many of the commenters below have misconstrued you as trying to defend Benny Hinn. The bottom line for me is, it is one thing to think that, on the one hand, Benny Hinn's style is off-putting and too flashy, and that he turns off a lot of people, and on the other hand, to conclude that he is a creep, a scumbag, a lying, evil man, who has blatantly used edited tongues to try and cover his mendacity. That Hinn is somehow being deceitful. Mr Winger states that the nice lady may have needed to touch or be touched like the lady who touched Jesus' garment. Matthew 9.20-22. However, Benny Hinn as a vessel of God is again kindly instructing all that man isn't the healer but that the Lord is. A touch my give people the impression that Hinn is doing the healing. If Winger's piece was so very inaccurate it ought to be very easy for Hinn to refute it. To date as far as I can see nothing of the sort has been forthcoming. On the contrary, according to Winger Hinn has been taking down some of the footage.
    "On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ "
    This ought to be warrning enough not to be taken in by everything purporting to be supernatural or a manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. Far too many Christians are, blinded by the word _anointing_ . I would not invoke other false teachers such as William Branham to support Hinn's ministry, nor word of faith devotees.
    The alternative to this is not John MacArthur and no spiritual gifts but their right use in the local church to build up the body, not massive meetings with a contrived atmosphere and celebrity healer doing weird things. And yes I have been to a few in my time wanting to believe this stuff was genuine.
    I gave up on Hinn with the 9 persons of the trinity nonsense, as well as getting disillusioned with being 'slain in the Spirit' which is not in the bible, and mostly if not always the result of being pushed or feeling you need to go over to look 'spiritual'.

      Winger used a clip of Benny Hinn from around 1990 where he taught an aberrant view of the godhead, a view he quickly retracted and hasn't taught since. Winger was using Justin Peters' video where JP quoted Benny in a 1993 interview with Charisma Magazine where he discussed the erroneous view that he taught. The issue isn't whether or not Benny retracted that error, but whether or not he was joking when he taught it. Both Winger and JP will acknowledge that Benny hasn't taught that for over 30 years.

  • @mombythesea2426
    @mombythesea2426 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Ok, let’s do this. You made a lot of claims but had no real evidence to support them. Your whole video is showing Mike give an argument, and then saying it’s wrong. But where is your evidence? I listed 15 things, and since you claim to be an objective Christian who likes to analyze arguments, I want your actual feedback on these issues.
    1. 30 years back for evidence. How far back is acceptable? At what point is information irrelevant?
    2. You insinuated that Mike does this for money, when many videos like these of his get demonetized. He also releases 4+ hour videos all the time, which is not at all best practice. He’s spending hundreds of hours researching to give people hours of video content. If he was in it for the money, he would be telling people to tithe so they could receive their healing…
    3. You said he’s making money attacking charismatics, but he IS a charismatic.
    4. You said he’s trying to repeat a lie so frequently that it becomes the truth for believers. He’s a small ministry on TH-cam. Benny is one of the wealthiest and influential Christian celebrities in the world. I don’t think that strategy is effective here, considering Benny has a much larger platform.
    5. Bethel absolutely encourages fake healings. I worked near that church and I worked with many kids who went there. They talked about this and how healings worked because they went to the bethel school of ministry. Plus, a few years earlier, Mike did a video on bethel and wasn’t ready to say they were false yet. He later came back and said they were, but he gave them a fair chance and did more research.
    6. Your stories about knowing people who supposedly were healed does not negate Mike’s point. Deuteronomy 13 says false teachers will come and perform real signs and wonders, but it is a test for believers and a judgment on those who follow the false teacher anyway. A few true healings in a false ministry is a test to encourage discernment, not proof of a person’s legitimacy.
    7. You quoted someone who said an experience does not bow to an argument when it comes to God. That’s biblically false. We should trust the truth of scripture, and recognize that our experiences are subjective and not authoritative.
    8. It’s not always Gods will to heal. Sometimes it’s His will to flood the earth or rain down fire from heaven as a judgment. Sometimes it’s His will to bring calamity to encourage a testimony of faithfulness. Christ even tells the people of His hometown that God fed one woman during a famine, and healed one man of leprosy during an outbreak. So, it’s not always His will to heal. And we don’t get to change that with declarations.
    9. You misuse the “believe and you will receive” verse. This is in the context of God’s will. Not just believing something you want.
    10. Declaring a healing “in Jesus name” absolutely IS making a claim that God declares a healing. This is addressed in Jeremiah 23 when the false prophets are going around claiming God said something when He didn’t. The entire belief of Word of Faith is that this is the will of God and you are declaring and agreeing with God’s will. So, to claim something in God’s name and it not come true would be evidence of a false prophecy. Remember, a prophecy isn’t just a saying about the future, it’s also teachings and words from God.
    11. The verses about us being healed is about our supernatural healing from the power of death. It doesn’t mean we will always have a miraculous healing of a broken leg or stomach flu.
    12. You’re using William branham as an example of a true faith healer. That’s crazy. He’s a demonstrably false teacher and cult leader.
    13. Benny doesn’t allow anyone on stage who is obviously ill or injured because he can’t heal them, and that would be obvious. Only allowing “healed” people on stage means he is never exposed as a fraud. Christ healed people in front of crowds to prove there was no doubt of His power and authority. Benny doesn’t have that power and authority or else he would definitely use it to make more money.
    14. Mike's assumptions about the woman with pancreatic cancer line up with the video and with previous evidence of how Benny manipulates the on stage performance. The woman said she wasn’t healed when she went up there, and Benny cut her off by pushing her down. Of course Mike is mad. Rightfully so. Benny just hurt a woman in the name of God as a performance that will make him money. Not only leaving a hurting woman hopeless, but deceiving millions and making millions in the process.
    15. Mike’s speculation about the guy speaking in tongues lines up with the evidence he has presented so far. Also, before he presents his opinion, he says it’s only his opinion and he would like to hear the thoughts of others. This is an educated opinion; he did not present it as a fact.

Two hours is sufficient on most matters... if the subject requires deeper analysis, make a series. What I don't appreciate in many cases is the analysis of a short clip of XYZ preacher with absolutely no link to the full clip to make sure the context supports the commentary.
      Unfortunately, Winger and others like him (Ruslan, Allen Parr, Brylan Riggs, Todd Friel, etc.) often will make comments on a 47 sec clip with no context, no link to the full sermon, and no spirit of charity towards what may very well be a brother/sister in the faith despite the discrepancies. That being said, Winger normally gives a fair bit of latitude but in this case, he appears to have a bee in his bonnet. I watched the majority of this video and I find it odd that your title is the objective believer. So I guess I am going to put that to the test. Obviously you don't know me from Adam, so I need to give you some of my background. I grew up in a pentacostal church, one that placed significant focus on the spiritual gifts. I accepted Christ at an early age (11), but I would argue now that was more due to peer pressure than anything else. I was cognizant of a need to be saved though. As I got older, through my involvement in youth groups, I went to a meeting where we had a "slaying in the spirit" training. This very much bugged me in the fact that it seemed very dishonest. It actually led me to question the faith and many of those who were leading us. Don't get me wrong, I did have some very good leaders who set a foundation. But it was one of the factors that led to me walking away from the faith before and while I went to university my first couple years. Thankfully, God was able to reach me there even in a very ungodly atmosphere. I won't go into my full story, but suffice it to say I have learned much about and from God even to the point of getting a Masters. I believe whole heartedly in the gifts of the spirit. But even in my own gift with tongues I have questioned it because of how it came about. However, my reading of 1 Corinthians (for which was a major focus of my studies) and specifically chapters 12-14 taught me a important thing. That edification, exhortation, and consolation are of primary importance when it comes to the spiritual gifts. However, those are are secondary to the preeminence of love. If we love someone, our primary desire is to not even see someone healed. In fact, it might even be better for someone not to be healed if it moves them to the place in relationship with God that is needed. Those might seem like harsh words, but they are not. Our primary desire as Christians is that someone comes to salvific trust in so that they eternal relationship with God. If you disagree with this, then there is no more need for discussion. Whether someone gets healed on this earth or not is of secondary importance to that leading that person or others to Christ. I have a problem with any ministry where that is not the focus. I don't see how Benny Hinn's or any other spiritual gift focused ministry is. Christ Himself gives us the whole purpose for miracles and healing in Matthew 9:6 - “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”-then He *said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” When we place the focus on all these gifts, we give place to error because it is stealing the focus from God and His desire and will for us. Faith in God should not be dependent upon healing ( I don't believe you are making the opposite argument just to be clear). But healing "can" be evidence in our faith in God and Christ (the woman with the issue of blood). I can't tell you how badly I wanted to see someone that is close to me healed, but it has not happened and that is up to God and His plans and purposes. I don't question their faith in God though. I do believe that there have been those who have been healed through these ministries. That doesn't mean that it was because of those ministries, but very well could be in spite of them. God does some wonderful things out of evil plans and intentions (Joseph). A final point. You talked about bias in your video. Mike certainly has it and I certainly have it. But so do you and it can be seen through your handling of this. I don't believe you truly are being 100% objective here. My bias comes from personal experiences as well as I assume yours are. Those biases are not always a bad thing but it is good to recognize them and challenge them. Is this challenging yours? I feel a need to sum this up - my main point is simply that based on the passages I gave from scripture - our focus in our interactions should never be on healing or any of the spiritual gifts. Yes we should pray and ask for healing, but more so that if it comes it would be to the glory of God and facilitate eternal relationships with Him.

    • @truthseeker9481
      @truthseeker9481 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JewandGreek It is very hard to do that. However, there are two points to make here. In the response video, "objective" believer himself makes an appeal to his experiences. To me that makes it fair game. I am not going to try and exegete his experience or call it into question. There are many true healing experiences and I amazed at how God works sometimes. Secondly, there is other information in my post that could be exegeted. Everything I said is not simply based on opinion. It is interesting though in this response video that the poster used the word "assumption" in multiple locations. I could then go through this video and do the same thing. There are certain assumptions that the "objective" believer makes in this video himself. Don't get me wrong, Mike is not without fault, but no man is including "objective" believer. I agree that we need to be careful to not just follow along blindly and should test the things said by anyone. If "objective" believer is truly objective, he then challenges his own beliefs and tests them by the full authority of scripture. I have changed my "opinion" (I would say belief or perspective) on many things. That is why I am willing to engage in a discussion. I have someone from work that I have a lot of faith discussions with that is very interested in similar ministries. Many of the people that he talks about are focused in a specific area of ministry and he often is very hyped up. It is exciting to see God move. But we need to be trained for the peaks and the valleys. I have listened to some of the people he talks about and for the most part what they say lines up with scripture. But there are issues as well. My moniker is that because I won't put God into a box and Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. However, I am hyper-focused on giving the glory to the Lord and I am very skeptical when there are hints of dishonesty. When we leave no room for people who are not healed in the here and now and place that solely at their feet when they are asking and believing we are not giving God his rightful place to tell us no or not yet. To address a specific topic in the video the usage of Isaiah 53 also can have a now-not yet perspective and that is not the handling I am seeing by the poster. As Christians we are part of an eternal kingdom and need to live with that eternal perspective always in the back of our minds. By Christs scourging, we all are healed. That means now and/or in the future. We can live with the expectation that if not now, we will have bodies that free from pain and suffering. I understand Mike's perspective here on healing ministries. It "feels" like someone is taking advantage of the suffering of individuals and when someone maybe isn't healed in that environment the handling of it is "very often" (did not say always) questionable. Christ was not very kind to the moneychangers .... there is something to be said for righteous anger. However, getting back to my main point, how do these ministries support those who have not been healed? How are they encouraged and edified and grown spiritually which is more important than the healing itself?
      BTW - love the name. Harkens to one of my favorite writings of Paul. I Cor 9:19-23. I assume that was the inspiration?
