You missed a HUGE PLUS to the browser. If you long press the "Find" button on bottom bar, you can customize what's in your menus and even remove/add different things to the bottom bar. Can also get there by going to Layouts& menus in the settings... My bar from right to left is... Tabs(Long press = new tab), Menu(LP = Settings), FW(LP = FW History), Back(LP = Back History), Bookmarks(LP = Add Page To), & Find(LP = Customize Menus). Makes doing things in Samsung Internet SUPER QUICK!!
Samsung have been improving their apps recently ,a lot of people also is saying Bixby improved a lot , Samsung is trying to distance themselves from Google and become like apple
The Samsung Internet extension is also available on Microsoft Edge's add-on store. What's great about it is that if I use several browsers, let's say Chome, Edge and Brave, I can have all my bookmarks synced between them as long as I have the add-on installed. It unifies all my saved pages in a single bookmark button, what a nice little add-on 😎
The only reason I use Chrome is because it has really good synchronization with PC and I am exlusively on my PC while at home so that's a massive deal for me. Plus I use a lot of Google services already. But Samsung Browser ain't bad at all and you can get an ad blocker on it.
For a second I was genuinely shocked by how at the end you laid your phone back on the table at seemingly the same position it was at the beginning, although it definitely wasn't the case, it was seamlessly close enough.
Never touched the app until today when i was trying to pay a bill and it wouldn't load the site in chrome but samsungs browser instantly loaded it. Chrome seems sluggish on my phone and I have the galaxy s24 so its not an old phone. Its very fast from my experience with it, kind of like how swapping from chrome to opera on PC helped performance immensely. I dont need anything fancy out of my phone browser so the built in browser works perfect.
Ive always been a google chrome user but i can tell you that samsung internet is 100% way smoother than chrome especially for samsung phones. I was actually surprised, just as smooth as safari on iphone. I just think they should give it a better interface
I like using whatever app are meant for the phone by the company. Samsung devices get app designed for samsung phones, my pixel gets all the google apps ect...
I recently bought S24 Ultra, first I ignored the Samsung Internet because of prejudice but then I decided to try it. I tried many Android browsers but this turned to be one of the best. Its button layout is convenient (much more convenient than Chrome), and the browser has all the needed features. Even in small things, in Chrome when you open a link in the new tab you still have to do one more tap to switch to it, Samsung internet does this by default (but you can still decide whether you want to switch by default) Now I am using it as my default phone browser
You can't. You have to use a separate browser that allows chrome extensions. Kiwi Browser, for example, allows you to use chrome extensions and even developer tools
I had some good times with the Samsung browser back when I had my Z Fold 3 but... ...after I upgraded to a Surface Duo 2 it was back to the browsers everyone complains about (but still use), Chrome & Firefox.
A browsers GUI is important but not as much as the security. The nicest brower in the world is useless if your getting malicious software on your device.
Ive never used or downloaded Samsung on my Samsung phones. All of a sudden. I can't get rid of it. No matter what i do, it's popping up over everything. The internet says if i uninstal it i lose all my photos on every device connected. Is this a virus?
I did the same thing you did. I stopped using Samsung Internet back when I had the S7, but I went back to it later because I saw a lot of people praising it on the Internet. Now, I can't go back to Chrome.
I'm liking it except for one thing. When I tap address bar to type a new site, it retains the current site address instead of being blank in preparation for accepting a new input. My other browser Vivaldi did this (had it blank) but I've had to give that up as it has been hanging on a premium phone. Any way to change the address bar issue?
I used to use this all the time. But the only issues i faced are it doesn't play well with many password managers, and sending tabs between my PC and phone isn't possible
Don't... Samsung browser keeps a log of your location and when you use a vpn, it uses that data to give to the webpage you visit for location. So you end up being connected to Japan for example and a tokyo ip, but the samsung browser give your real location to the website.
Is there any way to sync your Chrome bookmarks into Samsung internet on your phone? I know you mentioned desktop but just curious if you can import them without having to retype everything in.
@@StevealiciousTech I haven't found a way to sync the Chrome bookmarks to Samsung internet. You'd think there would be a way to copy them with it being the default browser. Because I do like the setup of Samsung internet.
@@StevealiciousTech Also on Apps Samsung Pass doesnt work good...google autofill always pops up. Even on Apples icloud keychain you can import and export passwords...
I understand some people probably use Samsung apps but I still think that Samsung's decision to basically duplicate every Google app is ridiculous. When I buy a Samsung phone I spend the first 30 minutes removing/hiding all the Samsung apps and replacing them with the Google ones that are either pre-installed or just need a quick download. We don't need 2 of every app.
I have used Samsung browser since the note 8. It is my favorite, only thing is some of my credit cards wo t let me use it to pay, I have to use Chrome.

Well, to be fair samsung internet on early stages/development was horrible experience it was slow buggy and unresponsive most of the times and at that time I was using the samsung s6. So I uninstalled chrome and use the samsung internet as my default browser on my samsung device!!!
@StevealiciousTech Samsung. For many of the reasons you mentioned. At the time, it also worked better with my Tizen watch, but it just keeps getting better!
I was pleasantly surprised!!
Context menu nerves me😡 It seems there's no way to rearrange it. Web search is hidden, translate button is first, and I never use it.
The big win over Chrome to me is the fact that Samsung lets us have an in browser add blocker!! Makes such a browsing difference!!
Samsung internet has BY FAR the best video player of any of the major browsers.
That's the main point for me too. And other features and personalization. But sad that outside of Samsung phones, extensions are not available

I am using Bixby routines good enough time to make things automated for more than 50 percentage of times for mobile and apps related changes

Chrpme does that too
Been using Sam Internet for several years and it's very good - Chrome still gets a look in, but not often 🐦
I can certainly see why! I'm late to the party it seems.
gotta keep chrome for that incognito mode, amiright?! 😎😁

🤔 thats weird, i have the s24 and i use Google/chrome over the samsung internet browser, everything works smoothly on my s24👍
Yes some gov or city websites works on sam app instead of chrome
Samsung internet have an advantage you can get darkmode on sites that don't have it.
yep i use samgsung internet. i really like the built in ad blockers and the dedicated videoplayer. its reallly nice.
Definitely! I've been loving it.
The dedicated video player is 100% what keeps me on Samsung Internet.
In 2018 when i was in high school i did use it a lot for the homeworks. Maybe ill start to use it again.

Whenever I think I’ll try Chrome for a while, I can’t get on with it. Very user unfriendly in my view.
The new AI on Bing is excellent by the way.
Absolutely. I agree!
The perfectly integrated video player is the main reason I use Samsung Internet. It's so good.

Search bar will dissappear when scrolling, but if you to a quick scroll up it'll come back.
I use it with BING - nice and intuitive. Samsung did this right.

Hmmmm, interesting. Not that I know of.
if you go to personalize you will see backgrond images.dark mode and weather

Is Beta better than original?
Does it have a reading mode? You know with dark background and no ads.
It has a dark mode and ad blocker you can use. It even can turn sites not designed for night mode into night mode.
Yes it has reading mode in setting (useful features)
Smooth, fast, functional features.... Issue is no support for Google password manager
Should I switch from Brave back to Samsung Internet. Been using Brave for the past few years.
I mean it's free to try at least so if you don't like it, you can always go back!

it just looks and feels incredibly unrefined
