    What knee brace/knee guards do you want us to test out next?

    I bought these, I personally tried so many times to get these to work for me. I love Alpinestars but these would always fall down on me, the straps were uncomfortable, didn't have the best pivoting motion. I decided to try Leatt Dual Axis Knee Gaurds, they worked so well for me! Never fall down on me, straps have comfort layer so it doesn't dig into your leg. (I wear long MX Socks that go up to the knee too) I love the pivoting motion, it doesn't suddenly stop and move away from my leg like the AStars do at full extension. Knee Gaurds do not offer hyper extension prevention or knee support, mainly impact protection, so it shouldn't attempt to limit hyper extension, which the Leatt do not. Overall, they just work better for me, but that's only my opinion. I'm a motocross rider and I don't ride without these. I love Alpinestars, so nothing against their other products.

    I've got knee braces and my knees definitely feel better at the end of the day but I'm 54. My son uses the Leatt version of these knee guards and loves them. Whatever feels comfortable for you.

    How does this compare to the Rev'it Scram level 2 knee guards?

    I use the Leatt Dual Axis Knee guards, and I really like them. These Alpinestars seem pretty similar, and I would consider them in the future.

    Those Alpinestars ones broke first crash, me and my son use the leatt ones. Like em. I quit braces when I tore an ACL wearing them, just couldn't justify the 600 bucks after that.

    I used to use the leatt dual axis guards. I haven't used these new a stars, but I think is prefer the leatt version from what I'm seeing in this video. They were good I just wanted slimmer and went to the tp199 instead, verdict is still out on them, not much seat time so far with them.

    I wore these for a few rides, but found that the inside of my knees would rub raw. I ended up having to put a cheap knee pad on the inside of the guard, so that I had some inner knee padding.

    can you explain how wear knee braces over knee pads and wich brand do you use?

    Wanted to buy these but only having 2 straps, and no wider piece behind them, was a deal breaker. Astars could have done better...

    Fox titan has 3 straps and has saved my knees a million times. They are bulky though.

    • @vitalmx
      @vitalmx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've also worn the latest Fox Titan guards and I like them a lot. Unfortunately, I've had two pairs which both have broke from normal use, not from impact. I'm currently talking to Fox Racing about a fix to the problem.

    Have the same sizing problem with the Evs tp199s, between the s/m and the L/XL. I’m 6’3 185lbs what size would you recommend?

    • @vitalmx
      @vitalmx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its really hard to say because it depends on leg size more than overall weight. At 5'9" my skeletal structure is not really big or bulky, therefore my actual knee circumference is smaller because there is no muscle or fat around your knee cap or behind your knee. But, right above the knee, because of moto and cycling, my thighs are very large (plus some dad bod pudge as well) so I run into the issue of matching a knee cup and hinge width to my actual knee, but then have the thigh section much too small. Based on being 6'3" I'm assuming your knee is probably bigger than mind and would fill in the knee cup area better. I'd start with the L/XL, but try before riding in them. RMATVMC and Motosport have good return policies if they are completely unused.

    CTi knee braces, only. Only thing I did not injure in over 40 years of competitive racing!

      The CTi OTS braces are some of my favorite by far. Check out our full knee brace comparison here. th-cam.com/video/bITPDc4W-Ac/w-d-xo.html

    Maybe not these, but the tp199s are solid!

    • @vitalmx
      @vitalmx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've worn the TP199s and the comfort level is very high, the problem I have is that they have little to no protection above the knee. My whole thigh is exposed and I've taken bars and impacts to the thigh that have caused permanent muscle damage.

    I have raced and ridden bikes for over 40 years Including Baja... braces saved me from having several surgeries. I blew my Asterisk's completely apart multiple times and all I had to do was send them back for a rebuild... and haven't had a surgeon rebuild my knees once, just sayin....

    • @vitalmx
      @vitalmx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree, both have their place. Knee braces overall have a much higher protection level. But, cons are cost, comfort and bike feel. Every rider has to decide for themselves what balance of protection and comfort they are looking for.
