I mostly have USB-C except for my iPhone and AirPods and Apple TV remote, I do plan on getting the 15 whenever the 16 comes out cause it will be cheaper
Kind of weird sponsoring a speaker review with another companies speaker. Your review of the Pill doesn't seem to have been affected by your sponsor, but this is heading on the wrong track if you want people to trust your reviews.
I agree, but I guess two things. First -- always honest reviews. That won't ever change at all. And I even film, write these spots before even necessarily knowing what video they're going into. But even then, these two speakers are so vastly different. The S600 is a charger and speakerphone. While it works great for listening to music or movies, it's main use is a speakerphone, conference phone, all of that. Not necessarily a "take to the beach" speaker. But I get ya! I'll make sure it's never something too close.
Most of my equipment is USB-A. Upgrading for its own sake is wasteful, IMO. I do have a few USB-C devices, for which USB-A to USB-C cables are readily available. I have a couple of iPods which use _only_ FireWire and they still work just fine. And yes, it seems weird to run a sponsored segment about a speaker that can charge your phone in a video about a different company's speaker that can charge your phone.
I use the new tribit x sound plus 2, and I think it easily beats the beats. It is cheaper at 70 dollars, with superb sound quality of 30watts. Plus it gives cover protection for the usb c and the 3.5mm aux port, Unlike the beats here has an open usb c port and No aux port.. I also have the jbl charge 3 and that is also great but I prefer the tribit with new features at a lower cost and greater louder cleaner sound.
I wanted to spread a little positivity here. I actually didn’t mind the speaker sponsorship you did here. They are similar but not too similar and I just like that the product is related. It catches me off guard when I’m watching a video about, idk, water bottles and then they start talking about an electric tooth brush or smart bed. Like what? 🤣 The product you sponsored is sure, speaker, but they are for different needs and it had different features, not to mention it has a whole wireless charger! Slight correction though, the dual speaker feature isn’t new. The previous generation had it also. You could also, using the Beats App, do a DJ feature where other phones could connect to your speaker and queque up a song. Pretty neat so they wouldn’t have to go on your phone to pick a song. Also I didn’t know it had a chip for smart home products. That’s neat! This release caught me by surprise. Just may pick one up!
After listening to mine for a few days, I realized that there is just no high, mid, or low separation. Ive done demos for multiple people compared to the Bose Soundlink Flex and everyone says the Flex blows it away. The clarity is just not there and its soundstage is not wide at all on the Pill. I bought it to compare to the Bose....Im returning it. The music quality to me just doesnt sound natural. The bass on the Soundlink Flex is MUCH better too.
I actually like the HomePod mini quite a lot. I'd have said the only thing it needs is a small bump on audio quality but now it needs a boost to support Apple Intelligence.
I just bought one and It doesn’t even take about 3-4 hrs to fully charge plus you can check the battery charge when u open settings in your iPhone n click on the beat pill or if u click on the power button one time the light will b green or red letting u know if it’s charged or low battery
I'm sticking with the JBL Flip 6 until I see how the new Beats Pill compares! Beats has been out of the game for a long time, giving JBL the chance to dominate the portable speaker scene. It's especially popular among younger people in the US. Practically EVERYONE who has a portable speaker goes with JBL! Beats will have to bring their *A GAME* to break into JBL' stronghold. And let's be honest, the fact that everyone's JBL speakers can connect with PartyBoost is a huge deal. Can Beats compete with that?
I mean, there are a ton of third party speakers out there. I'm partial to the Marshall Emberton II or the Sonos Roam! I just wanted to compare to Apple's!
@@AppleInsider I understand I’m half apple half Samsung in the tech bag so Wanted to know who would win in a head-to-head battle Apple or Samsung (JBL ) Since it’s time to upgrade, my Bluetooth speaker
@@Its_just_torrey This is definitely not Apple-specific. They use a custom chip that works better with both iOS and Android compared to like the AirPods.
6:49 be mindful while looking at this that the DB scale is not linear. Every increase in 10 decibels is equivalent to about twice the perceived volume. This graph is slightly misleading and the pill is substantially louder than it makes it look.

I moved fully to USB-C now. And I love it.
I got the black beats pill today. Loving it and goes great with my Apple devices
I got the New Beats Pill in red yesterday 🙂Very good speaker 👍🏼

Those ones are harder to change! Apple TV hasn't been updated enough to warrant just swapping the remote. Same with AirPods!

Ballsy to have a speaker sponsor for a video about reviewing a speaker lol. Lets see how it plays out
Bold move Cotton!
@@AppleInsider😅
why don't we get the pill XL back to while were at it?
Might pick one up! That gold color is dope 🔥
I have HomePod minis,2 HomePod 2 gen and this new black beats pill that I love too. I have all the Apple speakers lol 😂

I’m not a huge Bluetooth speaker fan but I have the jbl I’m cool with
Can it be used as a computer speaker? I have a Mac Mini without speakers. My HomePod mini would not work well because of Bluetooth lag.
And in this use case, is the microphone detected and operational over USB-C?
@@alcovaragood point. My HomeKit cameras can’t be viewed on Mac unless a microphone is connected
@@christianhotter I was thinking more on the speakerphone use case, to be able to use it for Teams, FaceTime calls, etc. with the Mac.

Can you AirPlay to beats pill and HomePod mini simultaneously? I noticed it’s on your Apple TV as an iCloud device. So I’m guessing this is possible.
No only Bluetooth. No air play
@@heelbeavans01 that’s unfortunate. It would have been bad ass to pair this with HomePod and even my PC speakers from my Mac.

That’s a true bummer!

Beats need to make a Max or Pro version. This competes well with Bose Soundlink Flex but the new Max needs a Beats competitor!
Im sure they're gauging interest in that! If this one takes off again, I bet they will!
which has better bass, clarity and overall sound? The Bose Flex or Beats Pill?

•can connect to more than 2 speakers
