Thanks for this video. I just fixed my own truck and saved whatever the shop would have charged me PLUS $150+ for the tow.
Temporarily, I just have a wire running through the hole I drilled. Tomorrow I'll get the washer and cotter pin.

Dorman part number 14055 the part is $8, Amazon $10, Autozone and $12 Orielys. It’s plastic bushing that’s it..

Same thing happened to mine today. I called the local dealer and they said this happens a lot with the Nissan Titans. They then told me that they do not sell the clip separate that I have to buy a whole new cable and I could use just the clip off of the new cable. Guys, the cable was $90...
so I hit TH-cam as I always do to find out my options. This is the type of fix I am going to do and was thinking on doing this anyway. Either this video way or maybe go to advance or auto zone and get the universal door window clip pack for $15..
I just wanted to stress how much those greedy dealerships rip everyone off! Haha
It wouldn’t have been so bad if the guy at the dealership hadn’t have said they keep a lot of those in stock because they sell a lot of them for that reason and kind of laughed under his breath about it.
Of course I gave him my two cents worth and told him there was no way I am paying $90 when all I needed was a clip and since they are the certified dealer it’s a shame they can’t stand behind their products and if it is defective give the customers a decent price.

Holy smokes! $90 bucks! That kind of stuff makes me question my brand loyalty? Just imagine what they would have charged to install that cable/clip? It gives us customers a great distaste for ever dealing with a dealer. Also, it is coming up on 2 years and my homemade fab job is still working.

Excellent video. Thanks for posting. Same thing happened to me today while I was out running errands. I used the emergency brake and shifted into drive manually to get home. Someone posted below about drilling through the shifter pin bracket. That's what I did. Drilled a small hole on each side of where the cable lands. I then used your idea of the #12 bare and ran over the cable and twisted together. The eye cannot come off the pin and the wire doesn't move so shouldn't wear. Price=free.

use a GMC bushing for $8 at auto zone and shave it to fit or go to dealer and pay $300, and yes a 10mm you can also use a piece of rubber from a tire sidewall force fit it then drill a 3/8 hole

You are a wonderful human being and I hope the rest of your days are blessed. You just saved hours of my life. Want to double confirm for everyone else reading this part number fits (the small clear plastic bushing is the perfect size). You saved me my weekend.

That was better than factory. Maybe the plastic bushing just wore out or disappeared earlier. Clever fix I probably would have zip tied it awhile until doing what you did. Thanks.
One good jerry rig deserves another. HA

Your Armada has the shifter in the middle console... the same thing happens to those cables but it's a different procedure to get to it... the vehicle in this video has the shifter on the steering column... WWW.BUSHINGFIX.COM has the part you need.. I have a TITAN and a QX56 and both of them has this issue.. easy fix.... HOPE THIS HELPS..

It amazes me that the stupid engineers who deigned this couldn't think of a better way to rig this piece...I just fixed mine today on my old 2008 nissan titan!

A Dollar Part a a Dealer??? 60 years ago, nuts and washers may have been a dollar. :-)

I bought a relay that goes in the IPDM and only paid @ $7 bucks for it from the Nissan dealer parts dept. You never know nowadays about the price.
