- Help me get to 1200 subscribers or I will put banana in your tailpipe . if you open the shifter cover you will be able to change gear in 5 minutes, no tools needed just pull the cable by hand. Don't spend $600 at a dealer you can fix it for free in less than 10 minutes no tools needed for emergency fix . If your shifter does not change because the retainer is broken. easy to do ..
14055 doorman part . use this guide for emergency on all vehicles including Nissan Titan Nissan Armada or any vehicle with same design. If the cable is not working when you shift the letters on dash do not move so look at dash and see if you can move from P to D if the shifter moves but the letters do not then use this video you do not need tools or parts to fix this problem temporary. Here in USA you may buy the part mentioned earlier at auto zone. Please pay attention as you are working the Truck may move since you have to Get it out of park. The part is very flexible and will not break squeeze it in.

when putting the plastic part in ,you may want to shift the gear to get a better position and when you finished to put the cover on you need to put it in N to be able to complete the job.

Stopped at mailbox, got back in to drive and nothing happened. I googled the problem and I found this video. I fixed in 5 minutes with a zip tie. Thank you for taking the time to put this video up!!!!!

This video helped me yesterday more than you will ever know. It's a long story but you saved us from being stranded at the lake with a boat tied to the dock and my 2004 QX56 and boat trailer stuck in the parking lot. It was getting late and before calling the insurance company, I decided to see if there was an easy fix online. I knew I was in trouble so I said a prayer and your video came up. I live in Texas too and it was hot yesterday so this really saved us. I was able to get the boat loaded and get back home. Ordered the part last night and installed it a few minutes ago. My whole family thanks you! My mom's 2007 Nissan Armada had this problem today. We were preparing to tow it and I found your video. We popped the console and located the issue you pointed out. This was exactly what happened to me in my 2005 Armada, at a gas station. Thank you for this video! I didn't have a drill so I ended up zip tying the gear thing to the things it's suppose to be connected to . (If that makes any sense). I was stuck an hour away from home with my baby at night. Anyway got home safe, and now ordering that part! Thank you!!
it happen to me one hour before dark on Friday . .made four calls and got no body on the phone so I tried to fix it and I just put the ring in and drove home in less than 10 minutes . .my first call back took one hour and by then I was home .. drinking some cold water since it was a hot summer day . you are a hero because you can fix things . .when you get the clear plastic things squeeze it in it so flexible it will not break .. in the old days we put the shoes in with a shoe spoon and forced the shoe in .. you have to the same thing .. force it in by using whatever you can find . .it will not break ..

works great one suggestion i can make is use a pair of channel locks with a couple pieces of tape over each side of the teeth and then you can simply squeeze the bushing into place. then use the handle end of the channel locks to then press the assembled cable end and bushing onto the shaft. worked SUPER easy that way. a but of silicone grease when done will keep it from ever binding. thank you for posting this

Man, you just saved me. I just pulled up to my PO box got my mail and when i tried to leave the stick was moving wherewhere but not nothing would move the car. So I just did what you showed and be able to switch the cable from pulling it from the P to R the D..heading home now with cover open until I get the little plastic thing tomorrow ...thank you so much

Great FIX, wife'x Xterra had it and the Steelership stole $900 from us and then my Titan broke > USED this method for $12 at Advanced Auto Parts.

Dude! This happened to me 2 nights ago! Had AAA tow the car to my local garage. Next morning, they called and said "400$ for a temp repair, 1,000 for a cable replacement "! So, while researching what cables cost (38$ to 75$ on average) I came across your video...it totally saved me! Imagine the look on their faces when I popped the shift knob and the panel, pulled the cable and drove away! I ordered a bushing kit, it arrives in 2 days (Amazon) and I'm driving on your zip tie fix until then. Thanks for the video! I expected the worse, and you saved me! Thanks!

WOW!!! GREAT "FIX"!!... I WILL LIKELY DRILL A HOLE AND INSTALL A "COTTER-PIN", OR "TIE-WIRE", THRU THE ATTACHMENT PIN, SO THAT THE CABLE EYELET CANNOT "FALL OFF", BOTH IN THE CAB, AND BELOW, ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION!....
It worked like a charm. Dorman 14055 found it a local Advance Auto. Couple minutes later I was in my way.

Update - put the clear plastic in the round eye of cable first . it will not break so use force to get it in. second step is to put it on the shifter by using something flat like a strong flat wood and press it in .You just saved bunch of money and this is not even a Geico commercial . You can buy me a coffee or beer to celebrate your achievement by pressing thanks next to like button .

Flow Nissan in Fayetteville NC told me the cable is almost $140 by itself. None of the auto parts stores carries the bushings.
just to make sure - video shows part number and aviabilty in usa .. I think you are quoting the mech statement

Titan shown is a 2005 but use double zip tie till you find right part , it be good for several years. if this part worked for you let us know

Thanks...I'll be trying this tomorrow... I did hear something pop....it was stuck in reverse... So once I turned it off that was it... Boys pushed it back in front of the house.... luckily I'm in front of my home and have some zip ties until I get the part...update tomorrow... otherwise coffee is on me😊
if you move the shifter look by odomometer the needle does not move as you move the shifter , it means cable not connected . there is shifter under the truck that moves as wel in synch with inside shifter .

This was the same fault with my Nissan Xterra and this fixed issue. Although mine has not too tight fittings so i will use a good adhesive glue.
THE CLEAR PLASTIC rotates since the angle changes as you go to L1 to park glue may not be a good idea the clear plasticky will not break squeeze it in ..

update the plastic part squeeze it in .it will flex . my cable is working just right with no problemes
Will this work on a 2009 Nissan Armada? How does the bushing not come out from the shifter knob? Whats holding the bushing and cable to the shifter? The actually shifter knob looks smooth.
look at display if you shift but display does not move to p or d it is a strong possibility the Nissan 2009 has the same cable all the shifting cables are 90% the same on all cars with slight differences ..
there is a grove on the clear plastic

PSA: if this ever happens to you and you need to move the vehicle immediately without another person, you can pop the console off and use your fingers to hold the loop on to the stud and actually use the shifter like normal. I had to do this yesterday to get home from work when mine broke.
