    THIS, right here ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, dogs and kittens.. THIS is how a tutorial is done... told in a manner that is well paced, not assuming of our abilities and broken down in a cohesive, understandable and logical way of explaining things.... thank you MrWooshie, I have subbed with gladness and joy for finding you... please keep up the good work

      The best known tutorial maker, NeontheCoder, doesn't make tutorials that are comprehensible enough. Moreover, his tutorials are almost always complicated because he doesn't tell about more universal stuff but about how he achived his predetermined goals. So, MrWooshie is one of the best.

    Man... You know those "Star Trek: The Next Generation" scenes where they have to figure out some crazy work-around using hardware & software hacks to a computer system's Hysenberg Coupler and then re-calibrating the bio-magnetic containment field coil multipliers before re-routing it through the ODN relays to save the day? I feel like that... But it sure is worth it! :)

    I’m really thankful for these videos you are starting to make. Steps are quite easy to follow but I have a small critique of it’s ok with you. When it comes to the animation itself, the way you present it can be very overwhelming. The run for example, you give us a little advice on hot to move the limbs and assure that we will do a good job but then you move on you your next stage and that timeline is packed with tweaks and small animations by limb. What I was truly interested is the part you omit, which is how did you build that timeline.

    • @MrWooshie
      @MrWooshie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My apologies. The short version is that I created my animation through puppet mirroring and deanimating half the puppet at a time. I figured this wouldn't be the easiest to explain, because what I did was overcomplicated for what can easily be simplified.
      Each pose can be made as a full single keyframe, instead of breaking it up as I had done, that can be blended from one pose to the next. It's best to have the final pose be the exact same as the first pose to create a perfect loop.
      I also omitted any full on animation tutorial as there are amazing, easy to follow ones already on TH-cam :)

    Making a separate timeline for each part of the body - is genius!
    I didn't even think it would work properly this way .
    After a long animation I was exhausted, because these balls that shows recording animation prints covered the entire character and it was very difficult to see the process through them, especially any small elements like fingers, and I did not know how to disable it.

    Wow, very cool. Do you do you voice work while playing or later in editing? The presentation is very fluent and well done.
    When you chose to use a keyframe just to deactivate the other animation, I wanted to suggest that a not gate on the intended animation could do the same trick, probably easier. But then you used the same keyframe to adjust the runspeed, so it really was useful as a one on all solution for all further adjustments. Really nice to watch.

  • @shaunbradley7608
    @shaunbradley7608 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Love the tutorials soo far. And how theyre straight to the point without the usual youtube fluff..
    Gotta ask is there any reason you broke up the limbs into seperate key frames? Does this help or is this an ocd thing? Ive run into issues where limbs get splayed out all over the show just asking cause if the seperate keyframe per limb helps im going that way?

    • @MrWooshie
      @MrWooshie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For me it was just easier to break it up to make adjustments. I didn't go into it as I wanted to keep the video as short as possible, but basically I would animate a leg while having puppet mirror on, then make a clone and have the two duplicate animations placed on the big main timeline. I could then go into each keyframe and deanimate the leg that shouldn't be moving.
      So for one leg animation I would deactivate the left leg, and for the other I would deactivate the right. After this I would just move one set of keyframes around to have the legs move opposite of one another. The only reason I did this was because I wanted both arms and legs to move the exact same way forwards and backwards. This way was just similar to how I had learned some basic animation back in school :)

      @cyber-peacock-2374 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MrWooshie No. I'm pretty new to this and haven't figured out the animations logics yet. I've tried exploring the circuits in the puppets but am unable to find the default animation. The only thing I can find is the range of the arms during walking.
      And by break I mean it just goes limp and doesn't move.

    Can we also create allies in our games? So we can make medieval games with an army or can we only create up to 4 players and enemies but no allies who help you in the battle? And if we can, can we give them orders like following us??

    Why not just connect a not gate to the walking animation, which makes it so that it deactivates the very moment you start running? Thats how i'd do it.

    I see you used a deluxe puppet. How were u able to make his limbs so small? When i tried shrinking /stretching them to make a smaller character the characters preset animations like walk /run don't work any longer.

      I used the just stretch tool to scale everything down. I also turned off the preset animations and created my own :)

    You'd think the game would have a tutorial for this very specific scenario consider most people will want to know how to do this once they made a character and their animation don't look exactly right.

    Instead of the key frame you used to deactivate the first And gate couldn't you have just connected the second And gate into a not gate to the first And gate? Not allowing the first animation to activate because the second one is.

      I decided to use a keyframe for it's ability to have multiple uses within one gadget. With that single keyframe I was able to turn off the first run as well as alter the puppet's speed :)

    I have a question mrwooshie and idk if you can answer it. I'm 100% new and confused at this logic and im working on a melee type character. I have my 1st animated punch keyframe but I want to make others and chain them into a left hook, right hook, kick combo. But im struggling as to how to setup a square button combo chain without all the animations going at the same time. If you can spare a tip or two it'll be appreciative! Thank you
