    For anyone wondering about the screenshot in the thumbnail, it's taken from my new dream: Arena of Disco! Play it if you want to experience some first person shooter goodness!

    I love Dreams, but my favourite projects are always the ones that make me forget i'm playing dreams.

    You should definitely consider using the mirror to create symmetrical things. Good tipps

    Me, 10 seconds into the video, screetching at my smartphone: "BLOODGULCH! He's making Bloodgulch!"

      Haha, I already wondered at what point throughout the video a Halo fan would notice what I was building! I'm currently working on a new fps character, and I set the gameplay of Halo CE as the quality bar I try to strive for. Thought I'd do a little homage by trying to recreate that awesome map! I'll probably not actually make a Halo related game though. Copyright and all that...

      @@intrattackout Very much looking forward to this project. I'd assume a Dream of the quality level of Halo CE would be fun and outstanding on it's own - no matter wether or not you're using Halo assets. Esp when looking at possible multiplayer in the near future!

      @@prinzlaser Exactly, if I do my job correctly, the gameplay should be able to stand on its own!

    Also, I totally agree with the walking speed tip. It enrages me so much when I can't walk quickly or run.

    quick tip
    everyone in the history of ever likes reverb. it's a great tool for adding a sense of scale to your sounds and music. it is also the center of the first mistake EVERYONE has ever made when making digital music. reverb sliders are almost always a slider that adjusts the ratio between dry sound (before reverb is added) and wet sound (after the reverb is added)
    DO NOT push the slider beyond 50%!!!
    the thing about reverb is that it makes things sound further away as you use more. this makes your music feel distant and makes it difficult to hear the nuances of your audio. generally, you're not gonna want to use much reverb, and you should wait quite some time before adding reverb to your music. give yourself time to understand how it changes your audio and learn how you can use it to your advantage.

    watching you try to make a structure without using grid or precise move is hard for me to watch XD good video though!

    • @intrattackout
      @intrattackout  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Haha don't worry, I've changed my ways. I've used more grid and precise move more in the last month than the entire year combined!

    Very good video. You make great points that I agree with and have often thought about when playing peoples games. Dreams has been a incredible experience for me. When I first got it, I dived right into the deep end and went straight to work on a open world game, which I learnt a lot with.

    SAY THE WALKING SPEED PART LOUDER FOR THE KIDS IN THE BACK. Better to have a game that is quick but memorable, rather than long and tedious.

    Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what was slowing my game, but now I think it is my enemies. If i emit them slowly it will improve performance?

    • @ericmihali9091
      @ericmihali9091 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the number of enemies loaded in the scene , you need to make so that they won't be too many at the same time .

    • @intrattackout
      @intrattackout  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What Eric above me said. Usually 7 or 8 puppets in total is the point where the framerate starts taking a hit. I controlled the amount of enemies in my game by placing tags on enemies and using a trigger zone to stop the emitting of new enemies if the total amount was 5 or higher.

    • @LewtonPL
      @LewtonPL 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@intrattackout Thanks guys, this sucks because my idea for the next game was four different heroes that you could swap and control, attacking different enemies.

    • @intrattackout
      @intrattackout  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@LewtonPL Yeah, that might give some problems. Keep in mind though, that this whole thing only counts for puppets. Or at least, that's what I think. I'd imagine that when enemies are just made from a couple sculpts, and animated by the creator, it would probably be possible to have way more of them on the screen. Don't forget that one puppet consists of 19 sculpts (41 if they have hands) with connectors between them! To calculate those physics for 10 puppets at the same time is too much for the PS4 I guess. Still a shame though.
