Brilliant. I was using a stand because my neighbour could hear darts on normally mounted board 3 rooms away upstairs. With stand and wispa he hears nothing in the room next door. Brilliant. I've given my stand to a mate that tours with a band
Thanks for the feedback. I agree its a really nice product and it solves a problem that many people have! Thanks for leaving a comment and hope you enjoy the content!
Does a stand make less noise
Had my board up 10mins for a New Year darts bonanza, and got the dreaded thud from next door up stairs tho? Like separate houses and rooms
So I’m thinking use a stand, in me kitchen, which has no attaching walls other than direct upstairs nieghbours kitchen ?
@@323v6No noise from stand at all just few wobbles, well worth it to be honest but I'm actually putting my board back on the wall just easier for me in terms of distance as I keep having to move my stand and remeasure
Where'd you buy this from, seems to be out of stock everywhere
Red dragon will have them soon
This is borderline parody gold 😂
This on a connecting wall to a neighbours house will probably be completely silent when there’s no door next to the wall and more brick etc.
Hi, will this week in conjunction with a Granboard 3S? Thanks in advance.
Target gonna release one called Aero.
My neighbours will have to put up with the noise, until the price of this comes down. Too pricey!!
Bro just use some xps material 5cm for 10eu and it’s all over :)
Well you have the best info so far even after watching the launch video. How does it mount to the board? i could not find any type of manual online. I know i should ask Winmau but is there a way to adapt it to other boards? So many plastic tip boards need something like this. thank you for a great video.
check out winmau's instruction video. th-cam.com/video/58wdpUHq-RY/w-d-xo.html
Is there a video on how to fit to the wall? Would it use the same mounting at existing Bkade 6?
The wispa is fitted to the wall by two screws on each leg of which there are 4. It works best with blade boards that already have the location pin holes but otherwise there are instructions on how to line up the wispa template to your board and insert the pins correctly for each segment you may wish to use when rotating. We have a video coming out tomorrow that explains the system a bit more so be sure to click the bell to be notified of that!
Yes they do. You just have to feel for them and pierce the carbon
Both of those boards were at different heights 😂😂 It is very noticeable
May have actually have been my camera not being set level!
Impressive. Sounds like a dripping tap. What weight darts were used?
Searle's
Bunting’s
I think they were a set of 23g from the launch but can’t be sure.
2 different boards. This should of been done using the same board as boards vary in loudness around the board from one another. Also if the boards were mounted in closer proximity to each other. Would of been nice to see a decibel meter as they are thrown.
I do like it but think it's expensive for what it is.
The decibel meter is from when they were thrown. Both boards are Blade Carbon boards and as I say in the video it's not the most scientific test I just wanted to do my best to show you the significant difference between with and without. It's one of only 2 solutions I know of for this issue and a competitive price.
Yes both are Blade Carbon Boards
@@ThaPinguI think he means they should’ve only used 1 board and swapped between how it was mounted on the wall
Can you still use the winmau light with this that goes all around the board
Wispa do a light that comes with it
What is better if you want to reduce sounds to minimum, this system or separate stand?
A stand isn't designed for sound dampening. If using in the middle of a room in comparison to a system on the wall the stand will likely be more effective. Difficult to answer as each setup is different.
Is your wall thin? It seems so in the video, and the sound difference is amazing. My board is mounted on a brick wall so it should be even quieter hopefully. Looking forward to picking one of these up!
Did you get one?
@@Mayhemz.95 Yeah, I think it works pretty good. From downstairs, you can hardly hear it. I’ve played a few times after 11PM and the neighbours haven’t complained.
@@Danny-eo6kdis your board on the wall directly through to your neighbour ?
@@thblzdknight1243 Yes, I believe their bedroom is on the other side of the wall as I often here television through the wall.
Does the scolia home fit with this
Check with our customer service team as its not something I have tried but they may no more!
Can a large koto surround go on over this?
You would have to ask customer services.
Where'd you buy this from, seems to be out of stock everywhere
There are still some weights available on dartshopper. We get stock in regularly so check back soon!
Does the Bulls lighting work with the Wispa system?
Not 100% sure. the surround sits quite tight into the wispa and so would need to squeeze it in and im not sure how easy that is.
Can you still use a bulls termote lightning system then?
As I understand it they have a special light specifically for the Wispa which is magnetic for the arms. Sorry we don't have the answer yet. If i find out I will let you know!
Decibel meters pick up the difference?
Hi. It’s not the most scientific testing but you can audibly hear the difference and the meters shown are through the editing software that shows the significant change in low/medium tones and the actual decibel volume. Try some headphones when I show the difference and it’s really obvious!
Can i ask if you mounted the wispa to a stud wall (plasterboard)? If so did you use the provided plugs or buy specialist srud wall fixings?
I can’t remember actually. It’s a plasterboard though and standard plugs should be ok but specialist ones may provide a greater connection.
@dartshopper thanks. How did you adjust the tension of the two wires? Did you hold the allen key still and turn one of the nuts??
What about when you want to turn the board? Do you have to spin the backing board round and line it all back up again?
The backing with all the multi coloured lines etc is fixed to your board accurately using the location pins on blade boards. you then add the pins to the corresponding lines for the segment you have rotated the board to. If you check my interview part 3 with Lee Huxtable it will give you a better idea! Hope this helps!
Can you use the system if you have a Winmau plasma lighting system?
Yes. The system behind Lee and myself during our 4 part interview has a plasma light fitted around the wispa.
Will that fit with any Sourrounds?
Yes, should fit with any surround with same dimensions!
Hey can you use the Winmau on a darts standard?
Do you mean on a stand? I am not sure as I think it would require you attaching the outer ring to the stand, which is doable but not with standard fittings.
If your using a stand you don't need a wispa. It won't get any quieter. I know one company selling the wispa claims a silent experience for the player. This is a false claim. Only one company claims this. I tried to tell them about it........
I’ve achieved the same dampening with a £8 foam board from screwfix
How do you apply that though? Do u just stick it behind the board or have to screw it into the board?
Any chance you can make a video lol
Have you tested that with a decibel meter from adjacent rooms. I've studied experimented for years and nothing is as quiet as a wispa except for a stand but a stand is a pain.
It sounds like it is not that much better in the room you are throwing. Is the experience better in real life than it sounds in the video?
it is a softer sound in same room but that will not ever change much as its still the sam product going into the board. the significance comes from the room next door and thats quite a big difference.
@@dartshopper I noticed. I think it was even louder in the same room. I installed and teared this down because it made my board like a drum with echo and noise amplified. I basically bought the wrong product. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the product itself.
Can i use it on a stand?
not sure tbh. the stand would have to have fastening points or a board that lined up with the wall fastening points for the system which i'm not sure they do...
No point using it on a stand. It won't get any quieter. Use a wispa instead of a stand
I had the problem that my Winmau Sourround didn't fit into the Wispa and was hanging pretty loose. and every time I pulled out my darts it swung extremely. That annoyed me extremely. Should that be so?
I’m not sure about different brands of surround. They are fairly universal though some are more snug than others. Is there anything you can use to wedge between them to make it a more snug fit?
Winmau surround should push into the wispa. It's snug but work it in
Which better the karella or wispa?
It depends really. I think the Wispa was better for sound reduction but rotation isn't as easy as the Karella
@@dartshopper I'm trialling a piece underlay between the board and wall filling the space. It's sounds less of a boom. Hopefully that keeps neighbours happy. Otherwise thinking karella
The underlay has reduced the noise enough to keep everyone happy. Result😀
My surround doesn't fit it's to big any help thanks
Surrounds are generally pretty standard as a fit. If you find there is one that does not fit it maybe easier to get one that is by the brand of the product you are purchasing... that said a lot of new surrounds are extra stiff new out the package and often need a bit of manipulation to loosen up. which surround is it out of curiosity?
@dartshopper was a old winmau about 15 years old lol
@@carpergolfergaz29 my surround is winmau with bdo on it. The surround should be tight in the wispa and snug round the board
Does this wispa system with any surround and also scolia systems
i cant speak for all surrounds but standard surrounds it should be ok. i dont think the scolia home will fit as standard as there is little room between the holding case and the surround. the pro should do as that is fitted a lot wider.
@@dartshopper which is the quieter system and best one to work with the scolia…
Karelia or wispa

Yea 👍
I think you should do side by side decibel test with the kerralla
Thanks for your suggestion. We always consider comments and feedback for the channel.
Is it worth buying?
It’s one of two sound dampening systems I tested and worked pretty good! 👍
@ Ooh Nice! Thanks for the reaction! Do you know if it works with the winmau plasma 360?
@mickybazelmans7118 yes it works with the plasma. Wispa is the quietest system the same as a stand. Other things like underlay and the karella do have an effect but the total suspension away from the wall is the quietest solution
@ thanks for the respond! I got it like 3 weeks ago! It’s a very good system! 👌🙅🏼
@mickybazelmans7118 what do you think?
Does this work with a corona light?
I have not tested this to confirm. It maybe a bit tight between the board and the surround. I saw it with the plasma light being used with the plasma accessory kit.
I can see it helps dampen the sound from behind the wall in other rooms, but what about the general thudding sound in the same room as the dartboard when the dart his the board? Is that quieter?
Thanks for your question. The first clip in the same room shows the change in sound. It's much clearer when using headphones to hear the difference recorded in the video. It won't completely dampen it as its still a dart colliding with a surface but it's a much quieter sound.
I’m in a 4 of a block, I’m the upstairs house… all walls are brick, I was go put my board in my kitchen and through the other side would be my bathroom of course I share walls with my downstairs neighbour but would this or the Karella be better to keep my kids asleep, Mrs happy and downstairs neighbours happy so they don’t moan lol, as I said it’s a brick wall
The wispa outperforms the karella. The reason why is because the karella has solid connection to the wall and the wispa is totally suspended away from the wall. I've been looking at this issue indepth and the 2 equal quietest systems are the wispa and a stand. I've given my stand away since the wispa arrived in my home. Genius invention
No more wobbles either. Its very stable
Who thought background music was the way to go?
Well too much I thought £45 but lol probably a way to make a sound deadening ..
The only comparative product on the market is the karella sound dampening board. It’s a unique piece of equipment to dampen your sound. More info on the product and the R&D involved in its creation will be in a video we release tomorrow. Click the bell to be notified so you don’t miss it!
You can still hear it enough tho so its hardly worth it.
You can hear it whilst throwing but my neighbour hears nothing. With normaly mounted board he could hear it everywhere in his house. It stops the shock travelling in the walls. Brilliant
@@DavidLee-te2oz fair enough mate
customer service hasnt been great,, still haven't heard back from anyone
help.dartshopper.com did you try here?
Over engineered. Just use some foam backing
cam you use Target Corona with the Wispa?
corona fits between board and surround. some boards are wider and some surrounds are loose so I can't say for sure on your specific setup but as the surround is flexible I would imagine you can squeeze it in!
@@dartshopper thanks
