    Casey, I was intrigued by the "sync clips" idea, but it still doesn't quite help me with my (maybe unique?) workflow issue.
    I use OBS to capture my screen AND the audio from my professional mic.
    I use an a7iii for my headshot, and although it picks up my voice, I don't use that audio.
    So when I'm editing, I need to sync both video files first (I clap my hands at the start of each recording to assist on this front), and then editing BOTH clips simultaneously (using the edit page) so as to keep them in sync.
    Is there a way to do this in the Cut page? To cut both files simultaneously?
    Thanks for all your epic videos.

    5:18 When I click Source Overwrite nothing happens! Would LOVE to get this to workflow for dropping in synced clips exactly where they belong in the timeline. I followed the exact steps in your video but when I click Source Overwrite nothing gets placed into the timeline.

    Amazing, I was wondering after seeing the editing page what were the difference because before starting watching your tuto I was using cut (I started davinci 2 days ago) and then you said the magic word : multi cam, wich is exactly what I do when I film.
    And after that you made me the happiest guy when you said : sync clip with audio
    Omg am I in heaven

  • @Warlock_UK

      I spoke too soon, it doesn't seem to work for me. I've got two pieces of video and an audio file; The sync panel works great. When I add any of it to the cut page the source overwrite button does nothing. I can't drag the audio in either, let alone get it in position. I wonder if it's trying to sync based on timecode despite the clips being synced by audio...
      *edit* found a small workaround, once I went to the EDIT tab, there was a 'Media Sync' item that appeared in the pool which somehow isn't visible in the cut page. Dragging that got all my stuff onto the edit page. Then I had to untick the lock to be able to actually edit.

  • @editorialbrain
    @editorialbrain 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    thanks for this. The auto stringout thing is kinda cool. but i do wonder how trimming will be handled with a more complex sequence with like 20-30 tracks of audio like a feature film may have for sound desining well enough for temp screenings and such. It still seems to me like a pointless page and I'll just hang in edit page instead. Their top viewer in the cut page is kind of like Avid Media Composers timeline map you can toggle. Interesting concept but I think i'd rather jsut have that view avilable in hte edit page. Maybe they'll let us open that viewer there in later versions.

    The multicam thing is super cool. I need to try this 100%. I have an annoying thing in cut page that I know there is a solution for. The playhead always seems to show up toward the end of each clip. So I need move to the beginning for each clip. Is there a way to make it just always start in the beginning?

    Hey, Casey! I have a request, assuming you don't already have a video. You able to make a quick video discussing the V1 an A1 "buttons" in the edit page and how they relate to dragging content onto the timeline? I seem to struggle with this sometimes when i have multiple layers, and sometimes audio tries to overwrite existing audio instead of going to its own layer. I think these buttons and my lack of understanding are to blame
