For people who can't find "audio trim" button at 13:59 and is using DaVinci Resolve 18, use the "Enlarge Track" button on the left side of the lower video track (bottom left of the cut page).

I freaking love the Cut Page. I was a Final Cut Pro X user and was intimidated by Davinci Resolve. But then I read the Resolve User Manual and once I learned the cut page, I was able to work very quickly. Ripple Training is great. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.

I have been using DaVinci Resolve incredibly clumsily, some of these methods made me gasp 😂 It became immediately obvious that this is how it's supposed to be done. I could not live without the cut page anymore. Thank you so much for this video!

The very best step-to-step tutorial on the cut page of Davinci Resolve. Too bad that TH-cam doesn’t push it to a higher search priority. I hope I came across it sooner. Thank you so much for your clear and thorough instructions!

This is the Bible of Davinci Resolve Cut page. Only one thing that I cannot understand, that is, what the X key does. I will watch this video repeatedly until I put the Cut page completely under my command. At the end of 2023, this video is a little outdated. The interface of the Cut page on this video is somewhat different from version 18.6. It will be fantastic if you can make another updated and improved video when version 19 comes out. Congratulations for such an outstanding accomplishment! It’s a great service to the video editing community.

I did find a few differences between version 17 and 18.5, but I got through them. Great Video. New to DR 18.5 & Speed Editor. Had to slow down the playback speed / start / stop. Layout for some inspector tools are diff. on 18.5 Win. Would love to see a beginners guide for using Speed Editor with Cut Page. Example: Following along at the end when you said "Ctrl B" to cut. I can right click and cut with sissors, left side sissors icon, Ctrl B to cut. Pretty much every option except using the "CUT KEY" on Speed Editor. Appears to be disabled because indicator light on cut key doesn't illuminate. Probably settings or user error. Thank you

13:29 “In this case we’re lengthening the cruiser clip while simultaneously shortening the Ford Sedan clip. This type of edit is called a ‘rolling edit’.”
Is there a way to lengthen the cruiser clip while keeping the length of the Ford Sedan clip intact? I’d like the Ford Sedan clip to simply move further to the right without changing its length. And if there are any other clips to the right of the Ford Sedan clip, I’d also like for all of them to move to the right, unchanged. Is there a way to do this?

I failed to mention that I’m trying to do this on the b-roll track. On the a-roll track, the ripple trim is working as expected, but on the B-roll one, the incoming clip gets overridden. Do you know why this might be happening?

    • @rippleguys

Does that mean that Apple is slowly abandoning FC? I wouldnt be surprised as more and more FC users are moving to resolve. I love FP for its media management functions, multiple selections in the same clip to attribute various keywords etc.. but I hate the lack of easy collaboration with sound guys, color guys etc.. always issues with XML etc.. • @rippleguys

Apple is not abandoning FCP. OMF is going on 30 years now and is old school. AAF is modern workflow and can be done with this app - x2pro.net/

@@Superjeanmarc Not sure about the reviews, but I know many folks who use X2Pro with success and it's really the best option. As a second option you can export your project as XML to Logic Pro, then create the AAF files from there.
