I lived there for about 2 years and I loved it! I was there for the spillway Internet, but other then that it’s a beautiful place. I lived on Mono Ave which is table mountain so waking up and seeing that every morning was so pretty and the sunsets everyday were AMAZINGLY beautiful
Thank you so much for your comment! It's always great to hear from viewers who can relate to the places I've driven through. I'm glad that my video of Oroville, California was extra special for you. Have you driven around the area before? Let me know if you have any other suggestions for places to visit in the future!
@@MR.OWENCALIFORNIA I’ve lived in Oroville since the Camp Fire. I’m a huge bicyclist so I’ve been pretty much everywhere in Oroville, Palermo, Gridley, and Durham. The Brad Freeman Trail covers about 45 miles from the Oroville Dam to the Forebay, Afterbay, and the Oroville Wildlife refuge. In 2020 I did 1,000 miles, including working for the U. S. Census Bureau, which gave me a great overview of Butte County.
OK so here is a list of cities I have lived in : Redwood City, Belmont, Burlingame (x2), Pacífica (x2), San Leandro( x2), Fremont, Tracy, Sonora (x 2),Tuolumne, Ben Lomond, Paradise, Oroville. I have worked in Fremont, San Leandro, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Scotts Valley, and San Jose. The many cities that surround these communities hold a special place in my heart. So thank you for your videos!
Yeah I moved from Austin to live there for 7 years of my life to be with a woman I had dated online. I lived in several places in and around oroville. I had a radio show there at the 91.1 korv and at the LP station at the aafcc. I used to have many of nights with my then girlfriend at the motel 6 and had dinners eating the patented broasted chicken at the cornucopia. Used to drink at the bar on Montgomery, and would use my daily free $10 at the gold country casino. I had some intimate time with a friend on top of tabletop mountain. I spent an entire summer camping out of my van by the lake and floating down the river. The autumn was the best time to be there when the leaves turned gold. I went to butte college for a time and would love the drive into chico viewing endless rolling green hills. I had a place up in the foothills and could see the entire town lit up at night. Shame that a bad relationship has tainted my love for this tiny but beautiful little town.
Not All is quaint and charming about Oroville. A resident several times since '82. My husband and I were evacuated in '17 due to the spill way debacle. Paul Preston an expert stated the dam is in Failure mode for several reasons despite the reconstruction of the spill way. I go way back and there was a large earthquake there in the late 70's. A fault runs under the dam. Fault line + enormous weight of the water = catastrophe. Now we moved to Mt. House after the camp fire; Concow only to flee from the Berry Creek, Bear fire conflagration in '20 to pause momentarily once again in Oroville only to leave for N. California for good.
I really like Oroville, I go to Oroville almost ever summer to stay with family, in fact you drove past my Grandpa's art gallery he helps run. It's called "Brushstrokes", it's that little store to the right of that clock at 3:25.
How is La well let me tell you it's a fast life the rent is expensive pretty much everything is expensive I like Oreo better because the rent is cheap it's not a lot of traffic in the town is very quiet but yeah maybe I will go back someday I don't know yet I'm trying I haven't decided yet but keep doing what you're doing you're doing a good job
i took a friend to my hometown of Oroville and he tripped tf out when he saw some tweaker guy riding a bike with no rubber on the tires. it didn't even phase me. lmao almost never a dull moment in that town.
