Appetizer Worthy Deep Fried Okra!

  • Hey Guys! Welcome back to my channel! In today’s video I make some delicious Appetizer Worthy Deep Fried Okra. I was inspired to make this dish when Monte took me out to lunch at a restaurant in Greenville S.C. Now this was a very nice place with great atmosphere. The menu was great with lots of variety. My food was quite bland however and for the price I really expected more. They did serve this type of okra that was beautiful but it didn’t taste like anything. I decided right then that I was going to make it myself and improve on the flavor. My version came out perfect! I hope that you guys will give it a try and see how good it it for yourselves. If you’re greedy like me and Lauryn those long pieces of okra are going to hit the spot, just right!
    Appetizer Worthy Deep Fried Okra:
    1 1/2 Pounds Fresh Okra
    Wash and cut the caps off then cut the pod in half longways.
    2 Cups Cornmeal
    2 Tablespoons Hidden Vally Ranch Seasoning
    1 Egg
    1 Teaspoon Accent, optional
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
    1/2 Teaspoon Granulated Garlic
    1/2 Teaspoon Granulated Onion
    1 Teaspoon Parsley Flakes
    1 to 2 Teaspoons of Self Rising Flour
    Cooking oil
    In a medium size bowl add the cornmeal and ranch seasoning. Mix together.
    In the bowl of cut okra add all of the spices. Mix together.
    Add the egg in next and mix together making sure that everything is coated.
    Heat the cooking oil over medium high heat.
    Coat the okra in the cornmeal mixture and fry in small batches so you won’t overcrowd the pan. This will help the okra to fry faster and be crispy. Cook until golden brown or until it’s the color that you prefer. Serve hot and crispy. Enjoy!
