    When you check your eggs in the carton
    roll them with your fingers to see if they move.
    Cracked ones will be stuck to the carton.

    If your kids like to play with magnets you can buy MAGNETIC PAINT.
    Putting this paint on a wall in their 'play' room can help keep activities
    focused and common areas less cluttered. You can also put it on the back
    of photos and hand them up.

    We spend 1300-1500/month for a family of 7 but several things contribute to that: we have some food allergies, we buy 99% organic and whole foods, very little packaged processed items and that budget includes a monthly co-op order for dry and bulk goods as well as slowly and steadily building long term food pantry with each grocery haul. I shop primarily Aldi and Costco and then we get a handful of things from Sam's, Amazon and Azure. Buying organic is an investment in our health but it does all add up fast!

    • @heyikindalikeyou
      @heyikindalikeyou 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same. We are about to be seven and almost everything i buy is organic, pasture raised or grassfed. I never buy seed oils and go to our local farm to buy pasture raised lard and tallow. And it does pay off because my children have zero medical issues and neither does my hubby or me.

    • @Thegrocerylady
      @Thegrocerylady  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so happy to read that you're doing so well with organic, whole foods! That's amazing. I aspire to that more and more as I shop. I'm taking my time to get there. I have to go VERY slow with my fam. No co-op here that I know of, but I may have to look into it. Do you grind your own grains?

    For my flour and baking things I use the Mason brand craft and more 3 piece pop up canisters. They sell them at bed bath and beyond which is nice since you can use the 20% off coupons. They also sell them on Amazon in a 4 piece for a little more. I have noticed that they sometimes carry them in TJ Maxx and Marshalls individually. They work great! EDIT: for seasonings pick them all up at Aldi next time- ive heard they are actually McCormick in Aldi packaging. I buy them now and they are very good and for about a dollar you can’t beat it!

    I love Aldi I went three weeks a month when we lived in Virginia so I miss it. The Commissary is between Aldi and Walmart in price so I usually go to the Commissary to save money and they usually have most of the stuff that I need. I go to Sprouts for natural stuff and I love it. Bridget my daughter threw up twice this week and in her classroom so I have been cleaning up her clothes and both days we had to do the laundry so it's been a busy week. She just went to the doctor and they said she has strep throat and she has no symptoms for it so who would have known so I am glad we brought her to the doctor. Hopefully we can have a month or two without a sickness? Everyday is a big adventure in the Lavender household! Thanks for you're channel and thoughts, keep up the great work!

My last trip to sams there was NO choice as I was getting the very last one. It cost $18 and I was able to make soo many meals out of it. Give it a thought for a money saving tip

    You should try the cereal and lunch meats at Aldi. So much cheaper and tastes so good! I've been eating boars head at our IGA and the Aldi brand is just as good. If you don't like the one at Aldi, their returns are really easy. But I've not had any complaints on the lunch meat or cereal and I have toddlers, so taste is important in the cereal and lunch meat categories. Also, when I'm shopping at several aces, I like to have the apps on my phone to price check on the fly. Your milk was a little cheaper at Aldi. When I do my shopping list I check from my home computer so I can compare ahead of time. It's extra work but helps me stay on budget.
