I can't imagine having to shop for a family that big. The house is beautiful and I've never known anyone to have a salad bar in their house. That is really cool.. I hope this for just a quick put things away and maybe they use it so fast it doesn't matter, but pulling the old food to the front and stocking from behind is a good practice.

I'm not Mormon and may not agree theologically with their beliefs, but I have ABSOLUTELY LOVED learning about how the church urges them to prep for their families. It's just my husband and I now as empty nesters, but we've built up quite a pantry. We are both federal employees and we have been furloughed in the past. But it's also been a blessing to be able to cook for families from our church in the event of a death, new baby or surgery recovery or share groceries with someone who lost a job, etc. I wish I had your pantry room and storage. God bless you for sharing your life and expertise with us.
I was blessed to adopt a little girl that was 18 months when we got her, and she hid food around the house too. She came from a horrific situation. It took us a bit to figure it out, but we did. Also, the first day we had her, she didn't know how to eat off a spoon but literally dove off my late husband's lap to the floor to grab a french fry that had fallen. This is the first time I've heard anyone mention this. Kind of validating.

My mom also wondered why I was hoarding food, she was told, in the orphanage, we had to fight for food and hide it because it was either taken from older kids, or we didn't know when we would be getting food next. (orphange in vietnam during war)

I love this idea just for emergency preparedness. I have been thinking about being more prepared after having to be evacuated from floods last year here in Eastern Oregon. Now we are in Fire season and we have had two wildfires surrounding our town . Luckily they got them out quickly but it makes you really think about it .

Food storage saved us . The first year I needed to care for my mother full time my husband was laid off .I had always purchased larger quantities of food and house hold items when a great price .We lived off those supplies nearly 3 years .During that time I had a grocery and house hold budget of 50 dollars a month .

Actually not really but why not. Ive been a member my whole life and its been pounded in our heads to have a supply of food handy. As a child I thought for the end of times. But it can really mean for anything. Like a natural disaster or job loss or a health issue.

bags or cloth. I’m Australian and those plastic bags are illegal here . We also no longer have plastic straws or cutlery…it’s either paper straws or bring your own.
What do you scoop catlitter into without a plastic. Bag ?
@@melindasmith3713 in the netherlands we have a big trash bin for vegetables, fruit and garden trash, also called "green" trash, we just empty the litter box in that, without a plastic bag.

Wow thats a lot of plastic bags? Here in NZ we use recyclable bags for a while now.
Delivery orders this size are extremely stressful on the shoppers. I hope you tipped them well. You could also split in into 3 orders. Food/frozen/household.
That would make it way easier on the shopper. 🛒
Maybe a 4th order just for produce.
Remember to put in the back whatever you just bought and bring to the front what was already there so you don't end up w expire things in your storage. Not saying you don't do it, but didn't see it on the video. Congrats for keeping the storage!!! Also please tip well the grocery delivery, companies doesn't pay them that much 😉 (I'm sure you do) God bless your family!

Something told me starting in March of 2020 to start saving water. I happened to have a big box of empty vinegar jars that I saved from cleaning and home canning use. I ended up with a closet floor full of water right before the Texas freeze. We were on water boil after the freeze so I used that water through our countertop water filter pitcher for over 3 weeks while the water went back to normal. What did they have to put in the water to get it clean? I am so thankful something told me to store water. I will always have that water saved back.

Omg we had a hard 2020...we had food, the toilet paper part got almost rough 😝 but...our daughter got diagnosed with a juvenile pilocytic brain tumor, 2 brain surgeries & 1 other surgical procedure pertaining to...started taking chemo, now she is 1 yr & a couple months in, still likes 11 months. 3 1/2 months our first grand baby passed away from sids...so it has been hard, not to mention not getting to work at all with $0 money coming in...we had to take our retirement out to live on lol it’s been a rough but...with Gods help we are doing okay. Whew better times please come. God has been good through our troubles I have to say.

My mom has always taught us this! We had a huge snowstorm in 2011 where we were cut off from the outside world for practically a week! Luckily my grandparents and cousins all live 2 minutes away and my grandparents lived behind the police station so they were the first ones to get power so we could shower. But there were many nights of food cooked over the fireplace, playing board games, and telling stories. Luckily, my mom had emergency supplies!! Water, canned food, etc. Now we have a good chunk of cans for emergencies, need to get some water now that I think about it! So glad you have enough for your big family in an emergency!
I live in NW Florida and in 2018 we were hit by Hurricane Micheal. I had about 3 days of food and water. We were without water and power for 10 days. I have a gas stove so I could cook but I had to run around looking for water and ice. This system would have been nice to have. Especially the water tanks.

Loved this video. Love your food storage. We too have that (Sam church). We also love it when Covid hot we were good. We keep meds stocked up, TP, and Dog food stocked just in case. We live on an island, so we wanted to make sure we were good in case we can’t get across our bridge to the main land. Would love more hauls, good storage and such and budget stuff.

add 30 yr freeze dried foods to I get mine from 4patriots. Also store your flower in a freezer it will last 10 yrs. If you can't store then down at floor since heat rises. We had some isdues with our 25 lb bags getting weevils her in Colorado 2019-2020...👍😇

Consider using a small business personal shopper in your area, those apps upcharge everything! I have a business like this and save folks 10-20% over those apps! Plus they are very invested in you as a client vs someone shopping on a platform. I can give you some direction if you're interested and can't find one!

I’m an Instacart shopper and while you don’t want to push around 4 carts, they have to! And load their car, and unload their car…I hope you tip them well ☺️

before people come for her FIRST IN FIRST OUT. yess I love this when we lived in wv the food storage was about what we had for the whole winters. cause if we got snowed in it could be up to 3 weeks before the main road was cleared. we would stock up for 6 months flat. hope you have a wonderful days.

Hi Tiffany, Sams club has this really great feature on their app where you can order food and supplies that are not cold or frozen on and have it shipped FREE to your home. You just have to have the $100 sams membership. I have been using it for a while, it's really nice! You also earn money back on all purchases. Then every year when your Sams membership is a few months from expiration, they give you that years rewards. You can get it on cash or put it towards groceries, or renewing your membership. Totally worth it for a big family! It's well worth it for my family of 7. Oh and Walmarts app has a delivery option as well. They are often much cheaper than instacart. Kroger also does deliveries through their website, and brings everything in a refrigerated truck.

I store all my pastas, pancake mixes, flours, sugars, salt and peppers in 5 gallon buckets. I got 4 10 pound bags of krusteaz pancake mix in one bucket. You will save alot of space in your cupboards for canned goods or a baking section like cake and brownie mixes. I also buy beans in bulk and put them in buckets as well.
