    Dr. Bikman, I had an insulin test done, it came back as 14, the normal range on the test is 2.6 to 24.9. I was under the understanding 14 is too high, my clinician said it is normal. I have your other mentioned markers, Fasting glucose at 106, overweight, circumference for a woman at 35. His statement to me was lose weight by calorie counting and exercise. He is, in my opinion, out dated. When I questioned him he said many people are just like you, no need to worry yet!!!! So if I listened to him I would be the next diabetes patient. No wonder we have a huge problem, healthcare is not healthcare.

      I think insulin should be below 6 ideally, your glucose higher than 100 is scary, and you are in the very high risk category having waist > 34.6 in. What are your TG and HDL? You have time to reverse that avoiding ultra-processed food and vegetable oils, decreasing carbs (and sugar), and eating “real food”: low carb vegetables and meats. Good luck!!!

    Thank you Dr Bikman.
    I went to see a specialist 15 years ago for my hypoglycemia. He was surprised at how high my insulin levels were, but his only advice was to keep on trying to manage it on a high fibre diet. Move forward another 19 years and I was diagnosed with insulin resistance, but again, I was given no useful advice.
    I'm tackling this now by cutting out carbs but I just wish I'd had useful information at an earlier stage so I could have started earlier
    The health system just isn't serious about helping people to stay healthy and we all pay for this in so many ways.

      @@R.R.Brahma I was keto for four months, then switched to carnivore. My AST AND ALT were way up, indicating fatty liver, plus my fasting glucose was 117, almost to diabetes. I don't know what my lipid panel showed, as I hadn't been to the doctor in twenty years. The first blood test showing high AST/ALT, he didn't even ask the lab to run an a1c test.

      There are no proper studies on humans regarding carnivore diets. Individuals are practicing with a belief that animal studies can be applied for humans because humans are animals. It is logical thinking but not science.
      Ketogenic diets are scientific. If we follow them we can get the targeted results.

      Due to adrenaline during high intensity the liver releases glukose to the blood to fuel the muscles doing high intensity work. Totally normal and non problematic. During work muscle cells suck up the blood sugar without need for insuline.

    Dr. Bikman says Ketones range from low to very low. Please give a range with numbers. Please, I need a range with numbers to know how inflexible my Metabolism is. I have a Ketone meter (blood) but without the numbers, I can not decide. My Doctors are not very helpful, they think I am crazy! I’m on a Low-Carb-High Fat and Fasting regime. So how do we retrain the body to burn fat if we have insulin resistance? Do we just cut carbs out completely or do we have to have carb days and fat days

    • @doctorstotrust3552
      @doctorstotrust3552  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Good question. The body will do it automatically but needs a transition period. Ted Naiman suggests slowly adding animal protein in and taking carbs out. Also cut out all vegetable oils. No need to alternate days. do you want to get as low in carbs as you possibly can but in a way that you can sustain it as a permanent way of eating. The transition can take two or three months. Again, no need to rush because you want to build up to a permanent way of eating. You may want to contact insuliniq.com.

      Watch Dr. Ted Naiman on this. The body is taking in too much energy (fat and carbs). Cut out either one and things will get better. Easier to do when cutting out carbs though.

      If she eats fewer carbs less often she can reverse her type 2 altogether, sometimes in a matter of weeks. No more insulin needed. Once glucose goes down, then the insulin can be lowered and insulin resistance (which is cause of and/or associated with every modern chronic disease) can be reversed.

    You dont have to be fasted to produce ketones. Just need to eat very low or no carb. Remember, your liver makes all the glucose you need. Any you eat is extra and shuts down fat burning and ketone production. Also note ketones and glucose are not opposites. Both are fuel. When the liver is producing ketones, it is also producing glucose. The opposite is not true however.
