When I saw the landers come out of the smoke stacks, I got a good chuckle haha. This is a beautiful and crazy mission! I can tell you've put a ton of effort into all the architecture, designs and camera work. Looking forward to the next part!
Hehe, thanks! I always try to challenge myself in finding new vehicle designs and aesthetics, both in the epic and... humorous kind. I appreciate the compliment, indeed it was quite a bit of work. Hope you enjoy the finale! :)
Hehe yup. The name of the launch vehicle is a bit of a nod to that effect... Glad you enjoyed it, fun to see you're still following my channel :) (its been awhile)
What an absolutely insane project. Cant imagine how long it must take to plan, build all the crafts, do all the manuevering, all the editing for youtube...not to mention dealing with the kraken
I'm doing something similar to this but I won't be landing on Io or Europa, only flybys, it will be interesting to see how the two missions compare given that I'll be doing it with modern, present day tech instead of 1960s/70s era tech, I'm sure it will be a banger as always TD.
Heh that should be interesting indeed! Note that due to the accelerated timeline I do have some more modern tech (modern RL-10s, advanced NTRs) available. Will the Io/Europa flybys be crewed? Would still be quite a bit of weight just to have the radiation shielding needed to survive.
@@TDChannelKSP yes, they will be crewed, they'll have a decent amount of lead shielding (10mm I believe), and I wouldn't expect you to be able to do any sort of Jupiter mission reasonably without advanced NTRs
@Reach did his Trappist in KSPIE style, very different to stockalike or RO style(though he limited himself from using FTL tech)and he did it six years ago when RP1 itself is still branded as lightweight modpack so I’m not sure if it’s feasible now

Please don't tell me that they're rescue rockets... Also please don't tell me that something will go horribly wrong that almost results in a mission failure, unlike what happened with the VAV in Project Tholia...

Correct! (well, Andoria, not Tholia) It's effectively the precursor to Seayuz, timeline-wise - switching to sea-based launches later once they realized massive land infrastructure was too cost prohibitive. It's also a reference to the first time I used it 5 years ago... th-cam.com/video/dsP-yQ17U88/w-d-xo.html
