Veruna wasn't conspiring with Teem here. His falling out with Palpatine and Plagueis happened much later due to issues regarding The Trade Federation. But he was a good antagonist nonetheless.
The Buildup to Teem's assassination attempt on Plagueis and his apprentice was very well done. 1) Plagueis changing his mind on helping Teem become Chancellor 2) Plagueis making a deal with Gardulla that helps her set up Podrace courses on Tatooine, taking attention and profit away from the Podraces on Teem's homeworld of Malastare 3) Plagueis making a deal with the Trade Federation to exploit Plasma on Naboo, making the Naboo and the TF a huge competitor to Malastare who is a big exporter of fuel and further damaging their economy 4) Plagueis pushing for the TF to have more worlds added under its banner in the senate, which is against Malastare's interest, with Palpatine's vote abstention working in Plagueis' favor. Teem clearly had reasons to be pissed. Unfortunately for him he was dealing with Sith Lords, lol.
He is hardly my master, Senator. Palpatine wasn't lying here. He's been manipulating Plaguies for decades, playing the dutiful Sith apprentice, learning his Master's every move and technique, rising in the political scene, all for the purpose of becoming Emperor. Sidious was always the true master.
That's taking it way too far. This is the same Palpatine who was too scared to confront Plagueis directly and was lucky enough that Plagueis was drunk. Plagueis was the one in control most of the time, until the end when things changed.
@@ranfan1820 I am having mixed feelings about this. When Zannah challenged Bane, she won the right to take over the mantle. So the argument is that Sidious didn’t earn it. But i believe a head to head combat isn’t the only prerequisite. Deception is also another factor. It is my impression and the impression of Sidious of himself, Plagueis dying the way he did was perfectly executed. Narratively and literally. Plagueis was getting sloppy to the point where he was injured. He barely escaped death's door at least 3 times because of his own clumsiness. More importably on two fronts, 1) he spent nearly a decade in seclusion playing around with midichlorians to become immortal instead of focusing on The Grand Plan set up by Bane. 2) He wanted to co-rule alongside Sidious which is not only contradictory to the rule or two but the Darkside itself. He’s repeating the mistake made by Lord Khan & The brother hood of darkness. There can be no equals among the Sith. Sidious masterfully points this out will he charred him alive. So I don’t think Sidious needed to challenge him. He’s already won. Plagueis just didn’t know it.
thats what i don´t like luceno should have make plagueis the true mastermind with is one of the things from the new canon that i like i don´t like plagueis being manipulated from the begining and palpatine backstory in the underworld script is better and i take that as canon but i still considered canon that plagueis was murdered by his apprendice the night before his apprendice was elected chancellor and i consider canon plagueis droid and the origins of plagueis droids plagueis master the origins of plagueis things that plagueis did before he meet palpatine in this book people he knew and i consider canon references to this book that are in the tarkin novel i don´t consider canon that plagueis lost his jaw and almost die and i don´t consider canon maul origin in this book and tcw i take maul origin from the adventure journal as canon and in my canon plagueis was more evil than he was in this book and he was more evil than palpatine during the time palpatine was his apprendice and palpatine only became worse later after he killed plagueis and i don´t consider canon that palpatine rejected and didn´t go by his first name and i consider sheev is first name in both new canon and legends
Palpatine was pretty much:
"Call an ambulance... BUT NOT FOR ME!"
Nice! Teem and Veruna were genuinely entertaining antagonists.
Pax Teem and Veruna have serious balls. Daring to kidnap Palpatine of all people. Grevious doesn't count. Palpatine planned that.

The fact that they don’t know he’s a dangerous and powerful Sith Lord makes this that more amusing.
Well, they don't know he's a Sith Lord lol
Pax and Veruna didn't care about Palpatine's rich family or political talent.
Palpatine seeing himself as invulnerable is really insightful.
“We intend to KILL YOU.”
Lmfao Teem sounds so hammy when he says that. Love it.

Luceno is king!

YES! I've been waiting for this!!
That man is in complete control.
