I love this reasoning and I am in the same category. Let’s be real we may not be broke broke, but in the category of people who invest in precious metals…we broke yo.
Buy what you like, love, want! Who cares. It's your money, your collection. I buy Numismatics, slabbed Libertads, Eagles, Kookaburra's, Krugerrand's, Mexican Onza's, etc.. I buy Dragon's, Panda's, Elephant's, Leopard's... I buy Germainia's, Libertad's and other high premium coins. I buy 10oz Kookaburra's, St. Helena, Engelhard and Johnson Mathey. I buy anything and everything I want and can afford. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE "experts" SAY.... I buy what I like. Keep it going, brother!
Another note.....what do you do if brics crashes the dollar. A one once coin might put you in the reportable range when you try to sell it. Now youll have to pay capital gains rax.
I wonder why you don't buy palladium while it's even cheaper and far rarer on the earth. Both of them are very important catalysts in synthetic chemistry. Nickel is very similar to platinum metals as a catalyst. Just like copper is very similar to silver and gold. But, palladium has made some really interesting and advanced chemistry possible.
Palladium isn't far more rare than platinum! Also palladium bars and coin are still more expensive to buy than their platinum counterparts. But the most important reason is that there are no 1/10 oz palladium coins!
I just got my first 1/10 in the mail Sat. 22 BU Britannia. She's tiny but beautiful.
Now I've got platinum fever!!!

Sound reasoning lol! They don't make them anymore. Heck they don't make the 1 oz anymore either!
