  • This episode of GearZ, Stacey tackles power gains at the air intake, modifies the computer and replaces the stock exhaust before addressing a 2” front-end suspension lift kit. He moves on to give the truck some extra height and support in the rear of the truck where payload weight can be a serious issue. After the suspension is in place, new wheels and tires bring the truck back down to the ground. Stacey also covers several tools that will help you get that old exhaust out from under your vehicle.

I can appreciate that shows like this are what I grew up on watching on the weekends. But man am I so thankful for better "shows" out there like Vice Grip Garage that are real and authentic. I'll always like Stacey's videos, but all they are is a 20 minute long commercial more or less.

the budget these guys have is usually more than the average joe can afford, love watching smaller channels because sometimes these get depressing, its good to see them tackle more down to earth projects.

So far on this build, I figure it's cost somewhere between 12 and 15 thousand $$$ to get there. Living in Canada, this would be at least 50% more than that, and you're adding even more stuff. Your definition of "a fortune" is considerably different than mine, that's for sure.

I understand the aspect of showing what you CAN install in a truck. But there was alot of money spent on the generator/compressor in the back of the bed, why did they then install another compressor for the air bags? When they could just run a dedicated line off the air tank, or just fill nozzles for the bag
Also for the few extra dollars of the tiny compressor, why not save that and do a full turbo-back exhaust system.
Love the show, just a few odd-ball questions
    Cheers

Great video Stacey, been waiting since February for full episodes of season 9 to come out. That big shop crane you use for projects like Heavy Metal, who makes it and how much would I have to dish out for one? I got a 1979 F350 4x4 that needs a cab replaced and heavy flatbed removed and would love to have one so I don't have to borrow a tractor or skid steer with forks.

Seen pics of turbos after many miles with k and n s on them.... didn't look to pretty. Flows more air and more dirt apparently

You're absolutely right about k&n I'll never run them again I had one in my old pickup truck and I send oil samples to Blackstone labs and they kept telling me I had an air intake leak because there's a lot of dirt in the oil I couldn't find an intake leak finally I ditched the K&N and put in a paper filter next Oil sample Blackstone said my oil is clean didn't have a bunch of dirt in it like before that the filter was the problem letting too much through the K&N is not worth the tiny bit of horsepower you get you're losing filtering ability

Stacey David is putting things on this truck that people might want to see but at what price ? And Napa is 1 of the most expensive to buy auto parts around ! Just how much where all those tool poxes you but on that truck ? I can guarantee they cost more then average guy can afford ! And along with all the other things you put on this truck !!! A guy like Vice Grip Garage is more based in reality then this !!! Vgg is more of a real man's needs and budget .... this show just reminds me of a rich man's play ground then a reality show on how to build or improve a working man's truck !!!!

K&N's are for racing because they let dirt pass pretty badly. In racing that's ok because engines are rebuilt regularly. Don't use K&N in your daily driver.
