And now with all the lights, box's, air, and generator. You can now safely carry enough tools and spare parts to take the 6.4 to the local grocery store. Ha ha
Cummins swap kits grew so popular with this engine platform that companies came about doing swaps and selling these trucks as essentially rebuilt/modifies. Selling with a Cummins retrofit. Pretty neat
I'm definitely going to watch your episode when you mount the machine guns, smoke screen, and rear bullet deflector shield. Everyone should have those if they live close to the city.
That's a sharp lookin' truck! Lets go through the price list... Herculiner $75 DeeZee Headache Rack $350 Ecco Vantage LED Lightbar $775 Ecco LED Spot Lights/Flood Lights $75 each with 10 to make $750 Diamond Plate Transfer Tank from Napa $929 Transfer Pump from Napa $229 Diamond Plate Tool Box from Napa $374 Side Mount Tool Boxes from Napa $669 each to make $1338 Mi-T-M Air Compressor/Generator Combo $2500 Total: $7320 If you shopped around and didn't get them from Napa it would probably be a lot cheaper. As for the "working man's budget" he kept mentioning.... I don't think he made it.
In my view the best liner is a bed rug. Have one in my 97 dodge since it was brand new. Of course I have a shell. Even when carrying messy stuff I put down a tarp. It vacuums up and or washes off nicely. Adds sound an temperature insulation. When I decide to buy a new truck I will most certainly put another bed rug in it.
Since the 6.7 ford has been solid, and I would have a hard time choosing between Ford, Chevy or dodge. All three make a solid HD that will pull so much you need a CDL to get within 10,000lbs of the max towing capacity.
Some neat ideas, It gives me some for my project truck. I have a 1988 Ford F250 7.3 IDI diesel extended cab long bed truck. I've swapped the tired 7.3 with a good condition used one so far.
Hi Stacey , love what you do at gears every build you do is awsome, do you remember a while back,I'm thinking 10 to 15 years ago , maybe when you were doing trucks , you did a show case on an aluminum foldable crane that could mount to a receiver hitch or mount it in the bed of the truck ??? Hope you remember !
I generally like the info Stacy gives, but affordable went out the window as soon as he said light bar. A good one is a grand or more, and that many additional lights was likely another grand. LEDs are awesome, but good ones aren't cheap.
What he failed to mention is that the truck is a king ranch edition diesel. The bed is useless now for hauling anything with all the tool boxes, this is more work truck than dual purpose.
The F250 add ons turned it into all work not a dual purpose truck That’s were I struggle, Monday- Friday all work but weekends I’m camping biking outside having fun. So every Friday cleaning the bed of truck out & loading weekend stuff in.
Stacey, Great Videos for sure. Thanks and btw, we, my son and I have been a loyal follower for what seems decades. I have no idea how you keep looking like you did all those years ago. You rock man and thanks for sharing your passion with all of us from all over the world. -- Every weekend my son and I would race to the best seat in the house - the swivel reclining chair (I almost won once -- he might be younger and stronger - I;m simply Smarter. I don't think I'm such a bad dad because at the first commercial I would ask him to refill my coffee just to get in the recliner. I feel so guilty that next week I'll do it again cuz I just wanna make sure :) -- Anyhowz - when deciding on location for an air compressor and tank and a storage box against the back bed wall my son and I have different thoughts on this. He say's you have it on the drivers side on this video so we should do it just like you. My take is this is it's a TV show to help us gearheads and mechanics to give us a path to walk on and not a show that shows you stuff and tells you to go pay someone else to do it. -- You didn't put it on the passenger side because you need to show sponsor support, and you wanted to us what a finished job like this could look like and you would move it later to offset the weight and equal it out later after the show ended. -- My question -- Does it matter to position the air compressor and tank on an opposite side to the driver because of drive-ability and steering stability? Now doing this really shouldn't matter on the size of air compressor and tank. Using a 2 gallon or 20 gallon tank - i think it shouldn't matter. What matters is drive-ability and vehicle stability. Stacey - Your thoughts please?
The only problem with Herculiner is it is not UV protected, Yes they make additives to offset that but if you don't use them this stuff turns to chalky white in the sun. Ask me how I know...
Normally love these videos but they basically turned a truck into a work van I don't know anyone that these additions would even remotely help unless you're a fire chief lol
Ya cuz the fire chief needs diesel fuel to make sure the fire has enough fuel, and compressed air to blow all the smoke away so the fire has plenty of oxygen.
@@colekitten1367 I can think of uses for all that stuff too, but more useful would be to have some bed space left. The generator could be swapped for a power inverter, and the air compressor could be mounted under the truck.

Ha ha
The only thing you can do to increase the value of the 6.4 is take out the 6.4 and put in anything else.

I like these episodes of Beefin up your daily driver..
its about time we got full episodes
Love the transfer tank and tool box combo. Wish the side tool boxes were available to fit under a toneau cover.
The dog is the real star of the show.

Leon Wagner This is very doable by a working man. No you aren't going to do this in 30 minutes. It may take 2-3 years.
Well yeah if you're an idiot and think you have to buy everything here in one trip. Buy each piece one at a time and see this happen eventually.
Anyone else playing the Stacey David Drinking Game? Every time Stacey says "vehicle" or "now" you must take a drink. Good luck!

love the full episodes..................
That is a nutty amount of lights. And hate that back window is unusable now.
loving the full episodes
I love the idea of a fuel tank in the bed of truck
Stacey, you're awesome 👌 👏 👍
I suspect a lot of forward effectiveness of those lights would be absorbed by being mounted low on that double cab roof
The title should be "How to build a medium duty service truck" lol.
thanks for posting a full vijiah and not twelve 5 min videos, completing a full episode.

You should pour gasoline on it

It’s not a regular brand. It’s cheaper. I would’ve sucked it up and bought a new Whelen Liberty.
The best upgrade for a 6.4 is to sell it
Makes me wish I was a tradesman and had a use for a truck like that. Mucho bling bling!
Light overkill maybe?
Hi I love the Mopar you are working on I'm a Mopar guy
What would be cool 😎, would be to put taillights in the headache rack
I want that setup, that’s awesome
omg thank god u came back !

There is a reason why you have a diesel........to pull a trailer to haul stuff.

Love the show but how can I see all the episodes in a series ?
. Like the street sweeper. I saw two episodes. Where are the remainder?..?
Love the fact that everybody who works on cars sober junks on red bull 😂😂😂😂
Napa isn't a cheap place to get auto part's from ! They are the most expensive place around !
great show i would have added a cb radio
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Not everyone uses or puts a generator in there truck unless there a welder or something
Can the tool box even open?
First thing on the list: delete that 6.4 emissions system
That's a nice used truck.
What radial was that, kinda looked like lycombing rocker covers but I can’t tell
id love for him to build a import thats not getting v8 swapped or having an American engine dropped in
This is America, we don't want imports on our roads
so how long will one layer of that bed liner last? will it last as long as a spray in? perhaps do more than one coat?
So this was a commercial on building a service truck from Napa?
What light are those ?need them for my truck
Yo, how old is that Makita cordless drill you're using!?
Any way to get brand/prices info for accessories used for this project?
Needs more lights
How much did all that cost?
Stacey now you have to pull a trailer lol.
Does anyone have the link to the light bar?
This is awesome, but you're taking away alot of storage space of the bed
I wonder what happened to that truck after
You need bed space to carry things
then take the tools out of the boxes and remove the boxes when you need more space, genius...
Thanks
I just threw a old makita drill out by the trash can with 2 batteries and charger just like that one lmfao
Can I take my 1/2 ton and make it a 3/4 ton
It’s a 6.4 . The most unreliable diesel ever. Napa doesn’t have the parts to fix it
Never said it was a 6.4. May be a gasser
