You’d get much colder air by putting that cone filter into that box these things are engineered to get colder air from stock doing that with the air intake youre just getting a lot more engine bay hot air opposed to putting the cone filter inside of that box and sucking in the air from behind your headlight outside the engine bay.

Brother, in your opinion who is the best custom tuner? I have a Diablo I3 Platinum tuner. I own a 2007 ram 1500 SLT 4x4 4 door with (used to be) a 5.7l. I have bored and stroked it to 397ci with molnar 4.080 crank, 6.125 I-beam rods, and CP Eagle pistons (9.6cc dish) and installed an Inertia cam (I have cam specs). MDS delete, Eagle heads, and will be installing the 6.4L intake manifold and some sort of CAI. I have 392 injectors, pacesetter long tube headers, no cats, and a pacesetter 3" Y pipe. I would like to adjust shift points, MDS delete from the ECM, raise speed and rev limiters, and adjust for tire size (35x12.50x18). Can you suggest a custom tuner? Is it better to find a local dyno shop and have them tune it? I'm in the Dallas area. Thanks!

#4 show up to dragstrip with 4 gallons fuel in the tank. Bring full 5 gal can to get to gas station after. Roughly 8 lb per gallon of fuel for each gallon not put in.
Get yourself a second engine belt for bypassing your AC unit. When you race. It's actually 5-7hp gain. Don't take 5 min to change your belt. Just ask for your belt according to engine without ac at your parts store
All the stuff your tearing off the vehicle I have a 2008 Dodge ram 3500 with the cummins in it and I was having problems cause I need to get my heater core fixed so I took the thermostat out engine runs a lot cooler
I just got a 2019 RAM 1500 Lonestar. Can someone give me a list of what parts/kits I need to up the horsepower. Not a drag truck, just a fast ass highway truck. I’m thinking supercharger, K&N cold air induction kit, flomaster exhaust/high performance CATS, super chip…anyone know of a list with the recommended choices for these things or alternative mods?

What does your truck weigh after dumping the excess weight. My 2012 bighorn 4 door 4 wd full interior with a cap and gear in the bed weighs in at 6250 with driver.
a few more free mods if you are really trying to break records. drain 2 quarts of oil out, remove rear brakes and rotors and plug the lines, remove serpentine belt (for the pass only), remove sway bars and front shocks, remove entire exhaust system, remove fan like you said and as long as you have a 180 thermostat with or without tune it wont get hot at least in my experience even when towing, 80psi of air in the front tires and normal in the rear.
@@josepimp404 a lot of times with no thermostat you’ll find that the water will be moving too fast and it will take a long time to heat up. when it does finally heat up the water won’t be staying in the radiator long enough to cool off and it will run hot. In most cases anyway. I won’t say every vehicle will respond that way but that’s been my experience.
@D E I guess every bit of weight counts but Iv always heard the older crowd at the drag strip say it makes the oil run hotter which will make less oil pressure causing the oil pump not to drag the motor quite as hard.
