  • In this video I review all of the Warhammer Plus releases from the last fortnight, including the first Age Of Sigmar animation. Find out if it was worth the wait or not.

    Decent summary, let's hope they can keep improving

    I was trying to find the word to describe this episode, but it was spectacular to say the least.
    The facial animations were great, and the animation overall was the best so far in H&B.
    The humor fit in perfectly, especially the (gryff hound's?) reactions.
    It was a real treat.
    I love the Legion of the Damned and it would great to have a Loremaster episode that reveals a bit more about them. I've got a few squads of the fine cast models, but it's awesome that they are releasing plastic ones. I hope they focus more on them.
    Thanks for another great video!

      I loved it, I was transfixed!
      I’m sorry, I think I misled you on the Legion of the Damned. They were from 2010 and finecast - I just assumed plastic. My fault.

      @@TheHalfDoneHobbyist lol, no worries at all. My wallet is relieved. Still, it did inspire me to get out my squads and finish them up!

      They're still lovely models. I just can't deal with Finecast!

    The H&B for AoS was a cheeky little story and a nice change of pace...doesn't have a whole lot of re-watchability, as they're all usually pretty one note for the stories. Wouldn't mind seeing more, especially with the more obscure AoS factions to make them more well known...even if the Sigmar lore is convoluted, the different armies are cool. And maybe I'm just used to it, but the animation suited the episode pretty well.
    I think that W+ is getting smarter about cross-promoting and trying into what the releases are, especially recently with the Eldar paint tutorials, Ash Waste Battle Report, and topical Loremasters (now for HH). They're not doing much in the way of Blood Bowl or the epic scale games (Titanicus or AI), but it would be nice to see some of those...IDK why they haven't done a Battle Report series that's a season of Blood Bowl and have 8 players make a league, like the way that Play On Tabletop does their 40k in 40 minutes. Or a Necromunda campaign between 4 gangs, and they could do both in spire and wastes games. Those have to be the easiest to make, and they could bump up the content factor significantly with them.
    I do love hating on my W+, but it's hard to because it really has settled into what we should expect out of it - some animations here and there, some archival releases, and official versions of the usual TH-cam game, lore, and painting channels. Now that I see it as a supplement and not a streaming service, it's more palatable and that takes the pressure off it being the next great streamer.

      I really enjoyed it and i'd love to see more. I thought the animation was far better than usual, so I hope they keep that up.
      I'd love to see a Blood Bowl or Necromunda series! I'm really hoping they start going above and beyond with WH+, instead of just sticking to their usual format every week. It'd be good to look forward to the next week, because it's semi-finals week, instead of just having a lot of largely unrelated shows.
      I'd agree on what WH+ is and i'm largely satisfied with it now. I'm not saying it's a throwaway amount, but it's not much considering what I spend on the hobby. I'm also happy it's not just on TH-cam, because I reckon it'd be forgotten about by now. There would be no pressure to output much if us, the fans, weren't pushing them.

    Hi there 👋good choice to skip a week and combine the review. I've not watched lore masters, but I love a recap on legion history. However I have to say I really enjoyed the H&B AoS episode. Right balance and I think it had a good story because I have not really read much about it. The pace was cool and it was funny. Looking forward to more stories from the realms.
    Are you going to do a painting video for your assassin?

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. 👋 I just got fibre broadband (900meg, up from 5!) so I may try a livestream for the assassin. I’m sure I’d release a video on it too if I do that.

    Alright with Hammer and Bolter getting finaly decently animated and the siege of vraks turning up in the vault, i might get tempted to actually get a month of wh+ just to watch and read the stuff that acutally interests me. we will see.

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was definitely an improvement and the Vault has given me a lot of entertainment recently. I'd give it a go, even for just a month, although if you're interested in Interrogator, maybe wait until that has completed its run.

    Not an AoS player, but really enjoyed the H&B this week! Great story and is it me, or had that ani style really improved?
    Decent Loremasters too, the 16th are rich pickings for lore.

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the animation looked much better than the standard Hammer & Bolter definitely.
      I’m hoping for more Legion-specific Loremasters. It’s all going in the right direction.

    I am starting to believe that the ones who stayed with WH+ for the first 12 months should be awarded a founders package. Like something really worthwhile. Think of it like a founder pack for some video games.
    The library is steadily growing and it’s looking more like a streaming service.
    I said “like”. It’s not quite there yet.
    Credit is due where it is.
    Interrogator was short. That’s too bad.
    Please no deep strike unless it is released along side an animation.
    Curious. Has anyone heard anything new on the Eisenhorn series?

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A founders package would be nice! It’s far more likely they’ll just let out a sigh of relief that they got away with very little for year 1.
      I agree that it’s looking a lot better but isn’t quite there yet.
      I haven’t heard anything about the Eisenhorn series for a while now. I hope there’s news soon.

    I have a personal distaste for exclusive models, especially from a larger company and double especially if it's a game piece. Like, I saw a Kickstarter one where there was one model they were making one of, because it's entirely handcrafted, massive, and made of special materials; that I'm ok with there only being one. But I hate how people use FOMO, and plenty of times, I didn't know this cool thing existed, otherwise I would have bought it three years ago when I could get it, but I didn't know then, so now I can't.
    Still, I get it, and it's not super frustrating in this case, and it's going to happen no matter what. I do think the model looks rad as hell, glad you like it, and as nice as it looks it was and is a hard pass for me. So everyone wins! Unless it becomes unexclusive I guess?

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I must agree, I’d be a lot happier if I could easily buy every model. There’s no chance for me to pick up exclusive event models unless I pay a fortune through eBay. You want me to put effort into collecting or something?
