What was amazing about Jobs is that he genuinely cared and wanted to make great products. That was his simple secret. He also had taste, knew what he liked, and had the vision. Vision and knowing their products is something so many CEOs lack. His presentations were simply, amazing! Almost no one can combine bring professional, and at the and time so casual on stage.

The transition of body language after the question about Java and open doc, is I think a him really going through those stages of acknowledging, seeing what roll he plays within the company. Within that role it doesn’t make sense, even more than that he could physically not know more about everything than all the people within his company, specialised in their respective disciplines. And I love to see him realising that and taking back control, by giving himself time to go through these phases even in a high dress environment in front of a big crowd. Maybe I’m projecting my own experience, just thought might be fun to share. Really enjoy learning from the best people on TH-cam, like Steve Jobs. rip

Right on the outset, I can tell you are looking at the completely wrong metric about what defined Jobs's success. The thing that others perceived as distortion of reality was natural to Jobs himself. That is what always happens when you very badly want to do something and you are convinced that you are right. You just feel it, before you put any net of calculus on top. And, instead of trying to define it with the outside metrics like body language and the way he talked, maybe ask yourself what is it that you really really want from this world? A moon from the sky? Go and take it, god damn it! Don't listen to what other people say or if you may to do so. If you want to kiss somebody for the first time, you need at least to try before asking first, right? Otherwise how much of the sincere feeling is it? And then, if you are sincere enough -- reality answers.

No I did not enjoy this. You concentrate on his body language but completely disregards what Steve actually says, and cut out important context.
It matters day and light if Steve is being a manipulator, or if he was plain and simple just right. You base your theory on him not properly answering a question the way you liked? Then I guess every politician is a master manipulator in your small minded worldview.

Its not about answer the right because result defined it in the form of innovation stev was really having outstanding communication skills he knows how to satisfied a team that can continueselly work again for a failure project thats important thing personally i tried to do many great things to build a team, i build it but they can't work longer with me without profit they all give up but i never. I build another team but i found finally that its a trust that people observe from profit not from vision thats why most of us can't do that kind of great work in our whole life its not about how much net worth you have finally when u succeeded. Its about how people love that product and think its really great. Salute to stev jobs as an Engineer. The thing we can learn from sir stev jobs is that as an entrepreneur our responsibility is that how we can satisfied the smart people for our vision and they can work together until its done. Understand the theory from practical not practical from theory. Even we know every thing we can't make it happen. Respect those great people who make this world a batter place to live.

Jobs is a great example of having little clue about anything but being able to make vague thoughts seem more complex than they actually are. Its the same mindset of many cult leaders who make it seem like they are pondering the unknown, but in reality they don't have an original thought of their own. Body language and smooth talking.

If I was SJs, I would have planted that fellow there with that question. This way he shows that he can handle adversity on demand. The questionnaire even looks like a disgruntled software engineer. Think on it. Of all the people he picked, it happen to be one with a long, specific and two part question? This is how ahead of the game Jobs was. He would never have allowed the possibility of a fumble after having returned. The stakes are too high. This is not reality distortion. Just good old fashioned theater and another mark of a great leader. I applaud it wholeheartedly.

The video explores how Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, mastered the art of controlling unpredictable situations and handling direct confrontation through various techniques, including body language, humor, and reality distortion. Here are the key points and takeaways from the video:
    1. **Managing Unpredictability**: Steve Jobs excelled in managing unpredictable situations, which is crucial in leadership and decision-making.
    2. **Body Language**: Jobs used body language effectively to convey his message and control situations. He maintained eye contact with his audience and engaged them when speaking. However, he also used subtle shifts in body language to deflect uncomfortable questions or change the topic.
    3. **Reality Distortion**: Reality distortion was one of Jobs' notable techniques. He could bend reality to motivate and inspire his team to achieve seemingly impossible goals. When faced with challenging questions or situations, Jobs often used reality distortion to shift the focus away from the issue at hand.
    4. **Example 1: Managing Uncertainty**: An example from the 1980s showed Jobs discussing a product schedule with his team. When confronted with challenging questions about the schedule and design, Jobs used body language and reality distortion to shift the focus to the importance of setting a firm deadline.
    5. **Example 2: Handling Confrontation**: In 1997, Jobs returned to Apple and faced confrontational questions from employees at the Worldwide Developers Conference. He used body language and a gradual shift in focus to acknowledge the questioner's points, regain control of the situation, and turn a negative situation into a positive one.
    6. **Effective Leadership**: Jobs' ability to manage unpredictability and confrontation contributed to his effectiveness as a leader and played a role in Apple's success.
In summary, the video analyzes Steve Jobs' techniques for managing unpredictable situations and handling direct confrontation, emphasizing the role of body language and reality distortion in his leadership style.

the famous questioner at the conference, which starts at 4 mins onwards here...
    "here it comes"
i think...Jobs was ousted from Apple long time back. Apple wasn't doing anything much under Sculley. Jobs was of course dying to be back there. And he lobbied and moved levers from behind. Obviously, he had enemies inside and outside apple.
This german-looking questioner at the conference...I think this man has got to be sent by those enemies of Jobs. AND JOBS KNEW IT!
He had already prepared for these kinds of questions. Not the exact questions, but the domains. So that, if a related question was asked, he'd be adequately prepared. I think jobs was fully prepared for these kinds of scenarios.
