As a CEO, rather than a political leader, he had the freedom to practice what he preached.
No matter where he went wrong in his life, he kept focusing on building great products.
Politicians don't speak clearly because they're avoiding stating painful truths. The vast majority fail to tackle the fundamental issues. Very few have the courage to say "we're in a hole, and this is the way out". (If you listen to speeches by Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, you'll hear the same clarity -- he talks like an adult addressing adults, rather than a schoolteacher addressing children.)

he wasn't talking about people who ''think different'' in this video, he was talking about how marketing slogans are more important to a company than proving to their customers that their product is better. that's what he was about, not people, not making the best computer, but selling the most computers.

Versatile iIIusiox Look... I own a Mac and I love it, but that’s utter poppycock Have you looked up the cost of a Mac Pro VS an equivalent PC tower? It’s absolutely insane. And it used to be that Apple had all the creative industry - well, not anymore. I was a working editor and I’m sound engineer now btw. Sure there is a certain prestige to using Apple products but it’s not worth the premium anymore, and hadn’t been the case since Jobs left this world. Besides your understanding of programming is quite shallow. Web-progamming can be done on a Thinkpad from 2010, while AI/deep-learning development requires a multi-thousand dollars tower at the minimum, with likely more than one GPU. And it’s not gonna be a Mac Pro. Even in industries using Mac OS X, Hackingtosh computers have been in favor. Now that might change with Apple making their own chips in-house, but iOS been their primary focus and I can’t blame them. But walk into any VFX or gaming or software development company and you’ll HP Z’s towers and servers running on Linux Red hat or equivalent. OS X is a joke in reliability now and the user control is supidly broken, and anyone who’ve ever had to hack their own Mac’s kernel to fix something that should be basic can attest this. My MacBook Pro 2012 is one of the greatest laptop ever made for sure, and I can admit that, but you clearly don’t work in tech.

With federal impact money, I bought IPods for all my K-2 students (1to1) and IPads (8 per class) for 3-5th grades. I bought them because my son got one for Christmas and I was surprised what it could do and how easy it was to use. It started a digital shift in my school. In five years we were doing things no one dreamed of. I am and always will be an Apple guy.

Something new I’m learning is that the greats that push the world forward don’t always do it because there’s a “problem”. Sometimes they just do it because seeing things improve is such a satisfying feeling. And it takes serious courage to do the things you know you need to do. I’m working on this. Massive respect to those that have driven the world in such an amazing direction when they could have just gone home for dinner and pretended everything was good enough as it was.
Kudos to Einstein, Martin Luther King, Richard Feynman, Usain Bolt, Gwynne Shotwell, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Isaac Newton, Barack Obama, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Hedi Lamar, JFK, Neil Armstrong, Celine Dion, Serena Williams, whoever came up with Star Trek, and on and on and on.
Sometimes all you have to do is try. And I don’t mean to belittle it. Trying takes courage, but your odds of contributing your passion to the world go up immensely if you do.
Don’t let life keep you down, friends.

I think this is one of the greatest commercials ever and there’s another version of that that Steve himself narrated and it’s great. He didn’t want it released so it wasn’t but I like his version better. I like listening to him speak because he is direct to the point, and anybody can understand what he’s talking about. He makes people believe that if you want something badly enough and you are willing to work hard, you can achieve it. Because he did. His commencement address at Stanford university in 2005 I think it was, was one of the most inspiring speeches I’ve ever heard. I go back and watch it once in a while just to refresh. It’s hard to believe that next year will be 10 years since he’s been gone and I still miss him. I used to love his presentations when he had a new product to introduce. His excitement about it just lit up the room. My opinion Steve was one of the crazy ones and he did change the world in a really big way.

Jobs is the perfect example that a man with a vision can indeed change the world. In 1985 he was forced out of Apple only to return in 1997 after his company NeXt was bought by Apple. And he became CEO of Apple because he proved how much value he can bring to the table. The man stuck to his vision and didn't let anyone tell him different. And boy did this man dare to dream. And he made everyone around him part of something big. If you want to be successful, be like him. I don't own any Apple products, I used to own an iPhone 5 back when it really was something different and not just a continuity product of a brand. But I admire the great ones.
