Happens all the time. we have it here with Vietnamese workers, owner puts them up in stalls in his basement, pays them almost nothing until they qualify for resident status.
Should shut down the restaurant. People only learn when you touch their wallet. Don't arrest to have free meal, free everything in jail, deport and close the restaurant.

Agreed, the lady admitted that she already had in her words, "two boys" from obviously a previous failed relationship? She further indicated that she would find living in India difficult if his visa was refused as all her friends and family remained in the UK. Given her age, the fact that it was not ascertained that she could speak and write in the native language within India if she stayed there and the biological prospect of having further children with a man who in all liklihood will be seeking this, then surely you would have the good sense to refuse the visa?

That doesn't mean it's sham marriage. Some culture don't show affection publicly. If I the British woman was not interviewed, he probably wouldn't have gotten the visa. But I think the woman was believable.

Being an immigrant myself, I feel sorry for the people that got rejected or expelled, however I take my hat off for the professionalism and the humanitarian way the officers conduct the whole process.

No one always get what they want, and the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Immigration doesn’t solve all problems, or majority of problems. A lot of immigrants end up immigrating again somewhere else in a decade or 2. Ending up with no good pension and end up harming their own interest.

Ignorance is an excellent defense. Trying to deny things will usually create logical holes which can then be contradicted later. Conversely, telling the truth will immediately land you in trouble. Ignorance remains the best approach.

It works great because the courts are based on "guilty beyond a reasonable doubt", so if you can instill a little doubt you're home free.

I cannot believe they accepted that as a true marriage, I know someone who worked abroad for 20 years, got married, been happily married for 14 years and they had a 12 year old daughter. Lost his job and decided to return to the UK. He and his daughter were allowed back but his wife was refused a visa. Total double standards, it depends on the immigration officer doing the paperwork, obviously the one in this instance was a lot more sympathetic.

I genuinely think that they are both faking it and by doing so the lady will probably get a substantial amount of money. Their whole appeal seems to be premeditated and thoroughly planned beforehand. Sure - it is sad but laws are in place to protect the rights and safety of the legitimate taxpayers citizens of the country they wish to enter.
Of course it is. There are some who put their own lives in danger (i.e. breaking into the back of and riding in a refrigerated semi truck, or stuffing their bodies inside of machinery) at an attempt to cross the border. The sad truth is that smugglers have no qualms about pretending to be disabled, injured, pregnant, or something else they're not, in order to get stuff into the country illegally. Unfortunately, immigration and border officials have the task of determining who's genuine and who's not......they can't always tell by looking at a person. It's not fair to folks like you, but they have to do their job. I hope things are a bit easier for you in the future.💕
