Three and a half years since that fateful Champions League final Loris Karius has still not re-established himself as the goalkeeper that was once promised.
But where is he now? What happened to him since that game? Why didn’t any of the subsequent loan moves work?

Lmao that tone shift at the end from sad and reflective to gleeful was incredible 🤣
I'll never forget my dad's words when Bale scored his second "Oh my god...his career is over (sigh)..." 😔
His entire situation got worse when Liverpool got rid of him and replaced him with an actual world class goalkeeper and redeemed themselves by winning the CL the following year.
Karius really needs a hug man
Was really hoping he would get back on his feet at Union. I think you have to have a certain confidence to be a goalkeeper, and he lost it that night in Kyiv.
I truly believe Liverpool winning the next year with Alisson hurt his career more than him actually losing the final.
He’s making that Jack Wilshere mistake- he should 100% go and play for Basel.
As a former goalkeeper myself, who quit practice because I couldn't handle the pressure and bullying from team mates, I feel really bad for him. Gollie is the hardest position in my opinion, almost nobody remembers you in victory, but everyone reminds your mistakes. I hope he can find redemption, but most importantly, peace. One night does not define him.
People dont realise how good german football is at creating talent, back when karius, leno, kevin trapp, ter stegen, neuer were all in the bundesliga...truly the golden age of goalkeepers
"That was very sad... Anyway, shaving with this is very fun"
i can close my eyes and still see the final
The story of Karius is literally heartbreaking in my opinion. Everyone should try to remember that up until his mistakes at Liverpool he had put everything in his life aside for his football career, like all pros do. At Liverpool he did the same and all the fashion & holidays things are just a way to cool down for himself and to not get overwhelmed.
He should’ve move on to FC Basel when he had the chance earlier in the last transfer market. Rebuild his reputation & gain some game time while he’s there, and maybe he can get one last big move after some years there. But even that’s a big IF..
Nothing happened to Karius. GK's are always remembered for their mistakes and not their saves
As a madrid fan, i can't help but feel sad for him. It took one game to destroy his career. I hope he can bounce back.
I think Tifo need to do one of these videos for Phil Jones…
Hi! Karius isn't the youngest Bundesliga-Goalkeeper. Marc-Andre ter Stegen for example made his debut at the age of 18... and he's not the youngest Keeper either.
Unfortunately the reality is that one or two small mistake by a goalkeeper in most cases means they had a bad game. It takes more than one or two inconsistent passes for a midfielder to get criticized.
the guy was hella concussed in that final. way to much hate, just like De Gea.
I never thought id hear the Name: Andreas Luther , in a tifo video. He will always be a Bochum Legend and im happy that he is performing well atm.
