Awesome to see Johnny here! Would like to see Tim or Masae next. Actually, it is possible to still get a Red Coin after the time runs out, but you have to be inside the room with the Red Coin, since the game doesn't let you go through a door when it gets to one second left.
Haven't played this before, seems an interesting game. I was never a big fan of Mario/Luigi games outside of handhelds for some reason. Any other games anyone would recommend?
Protip: if you play polterpup mode alone, you can farm cash to get upgrades earlier. When you find a polterpup, check furniture nearby the pup's furniture, but not the pup's hiding spot itself. You'll scare the pup out of it's hiding spot, and it'll spawn in ghosts as it runs away. This means you can get gold from these additionally-spawned ghosts, and a lot of it when capturing 2 or 3 at a time due to getting a gold bar from every ghost when getting 2 or 3 at once.
All mid-boss floors are 4 rooms each, and speaking of which, THOSE MID-BOSSES ARE EVIL! If you want to get 100%, you have to capture each mid-boss for the vault, and it's completely random! So you could hypothetically fight the same mid-boss 4 times if you're doing 25 floors. The mid-bosses themselves aren't very difficult but the amount of effort you have to put in to reach one is INSANE! And again, it could be one that you already captured!
Just done a 25 floor run on this mode and nailed it on normal on my own. The dark light goggles and the map bonuses help a lot. Dark light goggles mean you can see the tracks all the time and the map shows you what rooms they are in. Terrible teleporter has a couple of slight changes in the description on the Uk version but it's more-less the same.
I was like "eh another scarescraper mission, i might skip this one" and then boom a wild johnny appeared yay. And I get to hear both of their hilarious Luigi voices
Correction on what Chuggaa said about the vacuum multiplier: they don't increase the damage your bursts do. Rather, they increase the speed at which they charge, which can effectively double the damage you deal. big difference, since the faster charge can give you a noticeable damage dealing edge over the other players, even if you start capturing the ghost after they do.
I love all the Pokemon movie Emilie mentioned, but my favourit is Rise of Darkrai and the two that follow it. I like how they are direct continuation of that movie as opposed to something different.
Next you gotta find a Jean, clearly. I thought we covered this on the last Scarescraper segment, but whoever gets credit for the "kill" is the person that's physically closest to the ghost when their HP hits 0. Makes for an interesting meta game of "pull away from them to drain their health, but walk towards them near the end if you want some pounds."
Once when I was playing ScareScraper mode online, Luigi fainted. You can still call for help, which makes Luigi wave his hand. Because he fainted behind a table, all I could see of him was his hand as he waved from the floor. It was pretty funny-looking.
The closest person to the ghost always gets the ghost, regardless of who fought it first. This is good to know if you ever want to kill-steal (kill-stealing is a fine art in Luigi's Mansion), you just stop moving when the ghost gets to low health, and hopefully someone else will press A, giving you the ghost. Now you know.

Wow, Chuggaa's way too nice while playing competitively. Telling his rival where the enemies are, sacrificing his extreme advantage just to alert the person who he is playing with. Maybe it's all a trap just to weaken his rival's doubts...or it could just be how the game is played, I can't tell.
Teleporters are the worst. When me and my two friends fought them last, 2 of us ended up getting teleported into the floor of another room, which effectively trapped us and kept us from returning to the battle. A mission for 3 people became a solo mission because of those stupid portals.
