Hi Jason, To match the type of popcorn, look for “Mushroom” popcorn kernels. They pop into round(ish) balls, and don’t explode like a flower (called “butterfly” popcorn.). Love the video. 👍🏻

I love the kitchen contraption reviews! I'm a little behind on the times discovering them...but I hope there are lots more...I haven't looked, yet. Both hilarious AND informative! From...a person who is constantly searching for carnival food machines.

Hi Jason...you needed to put the popcorn with the caramel in the oven for an hour stirring every 10 to 12 minutes to get the caramel to get to hard crack and then it will be just as good as the Garrett's and not chewy. Not sure how to help on the cheese side.

Also...you need to use mushroom popcorn. This is a special type of corn bred to make the outside of the popped kernel smooth thereby maximizing the surface area. It is a lot easier to get a decent coating of caramel on mushroom corn. You can get the kernels from the same place you bought the cheese powder (though that stuff is pretty gross).

Good tip! But I found the flavor was off on the caramel as well

Dude, great video! You had me laughing and you helped convince me on which popcorn machine to purchase after 2 solid hours of reviews and comparisons... Thanks a whole lot for that! I'm subscribed.

You don’t need the machine at all ... just get a big enough pot like the size of the popcorn tub that you have there the only thing you need to make sure is to keep the pot moving and a lit so it doesn’t go all over the place... and but the mushroom style popcorn it’s the kernel that will pop into that awesome mushroom shape

If you still have this machine can you confirm if your stirer rod that rotates on the bottom of the kettle has both ends bent up or just on end and the other is flat.
I just got mine and made a few batches, but I didn't notice and want to make sure it didn't break on one end or if one is supposed to be bent up and the other end just flat.
    Thanks
