    On the interior panels: they’re made of ABS. ABS cement and fiberglass works awesome to reinforce and repair any cracks.

      good to know! I wasn't sure what the plastics were made from and it was trial and error to see what welding plastic rods worked best!

    Nicely done.

      Thank you. It was going to start as a resto mod. I have period correct race parts and a L28 at home. It was going to have 6 carbs from a Honda motorbike, I don't know what happened. I didn't like the idea of spending 20k to build the L28 and it making only 250-300hp, ( read: slower than my daily commuter) And when my friend was able to fully build me a LS1 for 6k that made 450hp, well, here we are!

      @@Dolfiusss I understand, cubic inches is always better than spending cubic dollars.
      You did some nice work repairing the rust damage and put a beautiful paint job on that 26 oz.
      I like to see craftsmanship on display. You've got it going on.

    Inspiring work. I've got an early 260z sitting in my garage just begging for this treatment. (Fantastically clean garage by the way!)

    • @Dolfiusss
      @Dolfiusss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks mate! Yeah I'm a bit of a clean freak! And if the garage is clean, my little helper can hang around me too while I work. What are the plans for your zed? Resto mod with the straight 6 or hot rod it like mine?

    • @TheSaturnV
      @TheSaturnV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dolfiusss I am aiming for a mostly stock restoration with a few old-school 90’s era mods. Original L26 with an ‘83 5spd. Might do the 4Runner disc brake conversion and I’ve got an R200 diff. Leaving the suspension stock with some lowering springs.

    • @Dolfiusss
      @Dolfiusss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheSaturnV That was my original plan too! I honestly don't know what happened and where it went wrong! I have a L28 at home, I have a trick 6x 42mm Mikumi carb set up from a 90's honda blackbird motorbike, modified for a L26 intake, I have a set of 6-1 stewart Willkins race headers, and I have a genuine Fujitsubo Legalis shotgun race exhaust from japan. Its nearly 5k worth of parts to get my L28 running, But here we are ha! I have the 4Runner disc brake set up too, with S13 silvia rotors and wrx brake pads.

      Dolfius' garage (or as I have come to know it "The Car Room") is cleaner than most hospitals I go to.
      That said, this is pretty surgical work.

      I'm a forklift mechanic by trade. Working 12 hour shifts covered in dirt and mud and garbage, the last thing I wanted to do was come home and get filthy under the car welding and grinding. Laying on the couch and relaxing won 90% of the time! 5 years or so to fix all the rust, Then stuck at the paint shop for 2 years, the last 3 years I had a kid which really slows things down too! I'll get there!
