This commercial had it all. Positive masculinity. Majestic nature. Diversity. Humor. And most of all memorable. I saw this commercial when I was a kid and to this day I still think about it every time I see Mountain Dew at the store.
I appreciate your playfulness, but there's one thing in your list that's arbitrary and unnecessary: diversity. The notion that it, itself, is beneficial is just a made-up 21st century concept. There was no call for it. that concept itself doesn't produce a tangible positive outcome. It's all based on artificial guilt tripping, paranoia and other unhealthy emotions. All we need to do is obey God's commandments and that solves any social problem one may fear. No need to make one fear that homogeny itself is evil. It's not. Let's say that all the males in this commercial had light skin, any negative implications one may draw from that sight would be completely artificial, existing only in the mind of the viewer, by their own paranoia and clearly not exhibited in the commercial. If half the males in this video had dark skin, and they mistreated one another, diversity would have no effect on the outcome; all light skin, diversity would have no effect on the outcome; three-fourths dark skin, diversity would have no effect; and so on. Only obeying or disobeying God's commandments affects the outcome. No need to impede one's behavior by piling on artificial, useless criteria to one's mind.
@@yougetagoldstar A concept being coined recently doesn't mean it didn't exist before. My point stands, back then a diverse group of friends in a commercial or movies or whatever wasn't a big deal. It wasn't until they started beating people over the head with it every time they do it like "like hey look we put in a black and brown give me them sweet virtue signal points" or "we don't have a single white person here are we good boys?!?". When I was young I barely noticed these things but now the mere mention of a diverse cast automatically makes me suspicious about the ulterior motives of the creators.
IIRC this was around the 1999/2000 time frame. When Mountain Dew was still a "country" drink. Just look up their commercials from the 60's until the early 2000's before the "Do the Dew" campaign took it in a completely differnt direction.
It's almost scary at 0:18 The way it makes that dominating look with it's eyes as if he's feeling superior. And i guess the way the face is made on a Ram can match that intimidating lool as well
The blast he takes in first hit. Is hysterically funny. Knocks him right on his butt. The whole sequence is absurd. Butting heads with a ram. Not a good idea. 😂
That was the funniest commercial ever made. That loud and echoing "crack" with old boy still standing was hilarious. But the sad part is that this is now a "vintage" commercial...... 😢
Ah, nostalgia! Jon Bon Jovi was right in the old DirecTV ad... 🎼🎵"YOU SEE WE GOT THE POWER TO TURN BACK TIME! LET'S GO TO TH-cam AND MAYBE WE'LL FIND THAT MOUNTAIN DEW COMMERCIAL FROM LATE JUNIOR HIGH WHERE THAT RAM BUTS HEADS WITH THAT CRAZY GUY! HEY, THAT'S THE POWER TO TURN BACK TIME!🎵🎶
I have a question. The bighorn sheep can weigh up to 500 pounds. A bighorn ram can withstand a blow to the head 60 times greater than what it would take to fracture your own skull. When two of the rams collide in battle, they often do so at a combined speed of 70 mph. Multiplying that figure by the combined weight of the two animals, (1,000 pounds) suggests an output of 4,000 foot-pounds of energy. Is that right? P.S. Remember, 500 pounds is 227.2727273 kilograms, 1,000 pounds is 454.5454545 kilograms and 70 mph is 112 kilometers an hour.
Nowadays it would be just a simple “happy” piano, a family made of an African American mom, a red-headed Norwegian dad, one child each from Argentina, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan, and an aunt from Mongolia.
Meh, I think he didn't really headbutt the ram while recording, as the studio filming the commercial either had a mechanism attached to the stuntman to make it look like he headbutted the ram, but didn't, and was pulled back, or the ram was a computer-animated ram.
And thus, why kids should not be attempting the dangerous things they see in commercials at home (in fact, that could be why commercials featuring dangerous acts and stunts nowadays have a warning in small print warning not to recreate said scenes and stunts).
This has to be one of the best commercials I've ever seen
U well fkn right #1k
THis was created when people had ideas.
agree. I love it, a human would instantly die trying that.
This and the mentos commercial where the spider tosses the guy around the apartment is a classic as well
Have you seen the original Mountain Dew commercial
2022 I still remember this commercial lol 😂 this was one of my favorite commercial!!

Diversity is never a good thing.

One of the most underrated commercials of all time
Still remember this commercial from who knows when. This should be in the commercial hall of fame

For a 2000s commercial they sure made this look hella real lol.
yup
This was back when they were still creative. They did a split composition and had him run with a wire harness underneath and it would yank him back.
Jurassic Park come out in 93
I saw this on 2000....I always remember it
Now this! This, is the G.O.A.T.
And the GOAT pun
They just don't make commercials like this anymore! Simple, easy joke that gets you to laugh right away and still remember it 20+ years later!
December 31st 2021, 9:30 pm and I was just thinking about this commercial so I looked it up.. brings back alot of good memories
August, 2021, and this commercial still makes me cry from laughing.

This always been one of my favorite commercials and the special effects, I miss Marty Stoufers Wild America show. Did my best to catch every episode.
This is a 30-sec mountain dew version of the PBS docu-series Wild America with host Marty Stouffer doing the voiceover narration
When commercials where fun to watch 😂
The best commercial in the world !
Absolutely agree with all of you guys..!!!!...This is one of the funniest commercial EVER!!!... Cant stop laughin' every time l see it...
I giggle every time I see this commercial. It looks real and the wildlife commentary was the cherry on top.
I saw this back then when I was a kid. Me and my sister laugh at this. XD
Best commercial of all time
I remember my dad watching this commercial just laughing
Classic ad, but I'm scared at the prospect of a human skull getting rammed by a bighorn.
Yeah...........a human skull would get demolished instantly by a bighorn. No joke.
That is true. Thankfully, this was back in a time when people were not actually stupid enough to try and imitate what they see on TV.
Man, this brought back memories.
It's almost scary at 0:18

Lmaoooooooooooo right!!!

I did type up "almost scary"
I never said anything about the 🐏 being completely scary
@@Lover-of-Creative-Priorities I know, thought your observation was funny that's all.

Try a Mountain Dew and that will seem like a great idea
Man I wish we still had commercial ls like this.
Awesome commercial!
My all time favorite commercial.
That was the funniest commercial ever made. That loud and echoing "crack" with old boy still standing was hilarious.
But the sad part is that this is now a "vintage" commercial...... 😢
I saw this, when I was a kid it was great times on TV
Gotta love those special effects
Ober 20+ years since i seen this commercial. Its as funny now as it was all those years ago.
That guy was Carl in Dazed and Confused (The freshman whose mother pulled out a shotgun on O’Bannion.)
Holy shit, you're right. I had this Mandela effect, where I always thought it was Aaron Paul. Lol.
I remember this one!
Por fin el comercial que yo buscaba!!!
At 0:19 THAT RAM😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is right up there with the Messin' With Sasquatch commercial series.
Ah, nostalgia! Jon Bon Jovi was right in the old DirecTV ad...

Can be heard for Miles when Rams are in the Rut Season.
Best commercial ever

Go find this guy. This is the new Wolverine.
Commercials used to be so fun.
Busta rhymes, break ya neck 😂

UNTIL NEXT TIME DO THE DEW!
Not bAaAad had me dead

Ohhhh the concussions we gave each other
Can't unsee randy orton rko.
800 pounds of force vs 16 liters of dew.
The stuntman must have a very strong head.
Meh, I think he didn't really headbutt the ram while recording, as the studio filming the commercial either had a mechanism attached to the stuntman to make it look like he headbutted the ram, but didn't, and was pulled back, or the ram was a computer-animated ram.
Rams are definitely NOTHING to fool with.
If you even try to fight a Ram, you're going to lose.
You've never had Mountain Dew and it shows

Dwight Shrute from The Office
Godlike loooool
What's funny is they got Marty Stauffer to do the narration who was very well known for his nature documentary show.
"fight for our product like you would fight for pu$$y in nature". These corporate types are deeply demented.
