It's NOT unusual for people - and even their dogs - to marry lookalikes! I wasn't sure if my West Highland White Terrier and I looked alike, but my late parents looked alike, and I turned out to favor my father's side of the family!

This is a primary example of how movies used to have the room to "breathe". The pacing isn't rushed and still manages to avoid dragging. And simple movements recieve a lot of focus because the animators were showing off how well they could make a man put on his coat. There were also pleanty of meandering moments like this in Winnie the Pooh and Robin Hood. Mind you, I have nothing against modern animation at all. Encanto is delighful. I just wish we had a bit more variety in the pacing, because I prefer slower films.
Yeah, I am starting to appreciate media with varied pacing. time to slow down to breathe and immerse in atmosphere and time to start speeding up when needed. I wish more media was allowed to allow viewers to be immersed without too much rush.
I find slow paced movies, if done right, to definitely be an experience. They leave room for extra character interactions, I think, which I quite enjoy. It allows you to take in scenes and plot points without quickening through them
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. After having three dogs of my own I really appreciate the animation even more! The animators got the scratching, yawning, stretching and all the subtle movements of a dog down pat!
It's only when you view scenes like these that you realize that Disney was more modern than ever back in the days than now. The impressive thing about Disney is that no matter how old or how many times you watch it, it never gets old and it always feels like the first time.
It's amazing how much I missed as a little kid. I mostly relied on visuals, as well as a few key phrases, to understand what was going on. For example, I didn't really understand what Pongo was thinking as he looked at those women in the magazines; only the pretty drawings, coupled with the phrase "human beauty," stuck in my mind. I did understand his judgments of the human and dog pairings, though, and thought they were funny. Ahhh, memories!
omg you described perfectly how I looked at all these old Disney VHS tapes. I’d watch them over and over, but would hardly get what they were talking about half of the time.
That's a fantastic testament to how well-made this scene is: it works, even just as visual entertainment, even if you don't know what they're talking about in the dialogue. The visual gags are just as funny as the dialogue; in fact they compliment each other, and one can still really enjoy this scene regardless of age. I didn't "get" this scene when I was a kid either because I didn't know a thing about "bachelorhood" or the like, but I remember thinking the dogs were very cute. :)
Although comparatively simple by today's standards, the animation of this film is simply brilliant, full of emotion and character. This form of artistic expression is often lost in computer animation. Really too bad..

Ross Murray that's so nice. I love it when I see people like you who just love the memories*. 😊 heartwarming. I also watched it with my grandmother...she passed on my birthday though..😖
This is definitely my favourite classic Disney animated feature.
Why is it that this movie hold up better than anything Pixar throws at us?
Doesn’t every other Pixar movie do well?
because it came out in the 60s
@@lemonballs what does that mean
I think a lot of Pixars movies have held up very well.
This was made before the mentality unstable people was everywhere
I dont remember seeing the original movies at all, but i have to say, this was very pleasant. Their voices were very soothing and charming, matched the music perfectly. And the animation was quite exemplary, it has a quant buy fun energy to it.
I should find a way to watch it in its entirety.
Pongo is literally me trying to find someone. Don’t act like we all haven’t been here 😂❤
Wouldn’t mind having a wingman like pongo
One of my all-time favorite Disney movies.
Pongo: Hurry up! Or we’re going to miss the hot ladies that I just saw!
NO! It was more like this:
Pongo: Roger, I found our future wives, and we better hurry or we'll miss them!
I absolutely *adore* this art style! This is *also* my favorite animated Disney movie!
The funniest part is that a songwriter could live on his own with a Dalmatian by himself.
This movie is so underrated as far as Disney movies go! I love it.
