  • In this video, we travel all over Western Colorado looking for the best fall colors.
We drive over the famous Kebler Pass to Crested Butte, visiting Lake Irwin and Scarp Ridge on the way. Someone told us the aspen grove on Kebler Pass is the largest on Earth. We hike to the top of Scarp Ridge and get views of numerous fourteeners, Snowmass Mountain, Capitol Peak, Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak.
We drive on Highway 550, dubbed the Million Dollar Highway, to see the fall colors on Red Mountain Pass. Near the pass we visit a waterfall and view Crystal Lake as it catches the reflection of Red Mountain.
We visit Telluride, checking out the town, then Alta Lakes and Bald Mountain. We see Wilson Peak, a 14er and the mountain on the Coors can, from several angles.
We visit Owl Creek Pass, even catching the sunrise on Chimney Rock in the exact meadow where John Wayne filmed a scene in the western movie True Grit.
We visit Dallas Divide, catching the sunset on the aspens and on Mount Sneffels, another 14er.

Ok, a few things. Great video. I look forward to a future 14er hike with Carrie carrying a chicken the whole way. Lastly, had you thrown a rock into that lake in front of the guy with a camera it would have been a huge jerk move but I’d have laughed pretty hard!!

This chicken idea is not horrible and they aren't as hard to catch as she made it look.
And yes, the rock idea would have been hilarious! Haha!
