    Coming from a 52 yr old habs fan....Arpon is one of the best journalists I've ever seen covering the habs....so much sense and knowledge and reason without the insane emotion and....I guess I'd call it the "click bait" mentality....honest and sensible takes, not just crazy crap trying to generate engagement....my humble opinion....

    Omg Arpon, loved your comment about seeing Reinbacher literally skating into the glass, a stride short, early in camp, I can envision what you saw, that's funny, and of course, so cool that he adapted so very, very quickly. Cool comment, funny, and a, really relevant fact, thanks for sharing that nugget.

    Yeah, the retention slot is why I've hated the Petry deal since day one. It looked like it was made to not retain on Hoffman, but we retained on Petry anyways... I think Hughes gambled that one and lost.

    Great show, for next week’s mailbag You mentioned Gallagher can’t be moved, at what point does Hughes buy him out. I would be interested in your views. My view ….you have to ask what role on the team does he play, 3rd line winger, if the answer is no it is 4th line ..then you have to cut your loses and for his sake move on, let him go and sign with someone else.

    To be clear, playing a single NHL game has no impact on burning the 1st year in Hutson's case (same for Poehling's case 5 years ago). The NCAA player who is 20 or about to turn 20 (cutoff is either September or October, IIRC) simply needs to sign his contract that starts this season and this becomes year 1 of the ELC - happened with the Senators and Jake Sanderson 2 years ago. He did not play a game in 2021-22 yet that was still his first season of his ELC. Reinbacher does not require a ''paper'' transaction to play for Laval in the playoffs, it's the same situation as Heineman last season as both were signed players who were loaned to a European team and you have full control over doing what you want with the player once the season ends over there for that player and he can play in the AHL playoffs (like Heineman did).

      Ah yes that’s correct on Hutson forgot the age provision there. Thanks!

    The Habs need to consolidate their picks and prospects into NHL players.

    I think trading the Calgary 1st pick more likely, as that outcome is less certain .

    Nothing less than a 1st for SAvard. Otherwise keep him.

      ... hard disagree, if anything they overvalue them. Evans at 1.7 and almost always injured has negative value IMO.

      @@starkiller34 Evans' salary is a non-issue given the Habs' cap position. He's a solid defensive guy that weather storms and help out the young dmen.

      @@RandomPlaceHolderName.... we are talking about trade value, his cap is an issue for other teams, not the Habs. Are you replying to the wrong comment?

    • @RandomPlaceHolderName
      @RandomPlaceHolderName 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@starkiller34 Trade value wasn't mentioned in either comment. Plus, in the case of a trade, it's 1.7 prorated which many teams, even contenders, will have accrued in LTIR this year.
      If teams are worried about next year, they can just dump Evans this summer. He's worth 1.7m.

      @@RandomPlaceHolderName...You couldn't infer the obvious discussion? Have you even watched the video? And You think a contending team would go through that effort for a constantly injured 4th liner? C'mon dude lol, let it go, its ok. I too could change the world with 'ifs'.

    I never understood what's the big deal about burning the so called first year? If the player isn't good enough after a few years, doesn't make a difference. If the player is great, than he is going to get paid either way.
