I'm in disbelief at how Canon had nothing. I went from thinking "they must be cooking something huge" to "Canon can't keep up and is really letting the industry leave them behind".
The fujifilm GFX100 ii doesn’t have the things you mentioned built-in. However, that’s the point of the OFG Customs 65. Creating a robust closed system that essentially has built in raw recording and monitoring functions via the Ninja ultra. So there are indeed 3x SDI outputs along with 2x HDMI outputs. And false color is present in the ninja. Whether you want atomos,Arri, or even EL Zone false color, it’s built right in. There’s also custom electronics to power on and off everything with one button, along with enabling remote run/stop via 3-pin Fischer.
I wouldn’t say that the Ursa Cine 12k Full Frame is BMD version of the Canon C500 mark 2 or Sony Fx9. I believe this camera is on an entirely different level, cinema / creative wise.
I only clicked the TH-cam link to see if it went to who I thought it did and I was correct. Media Division is the best. No modern day bs influencer style fluff. Just a straight hour of top notch video.
My humble thoughts on this... As an owner of a C70, C300, C100 and 3xf305 I'm confident to say that there is no point comparing BM cameras to Canon; if anything they are competing with Sony who has the bigger market share. Look how the cameras line up: BMPCC=FX3, PIXIS=FX6 URSA=FX9 URSA Broadcast=Sony PMW ENG cameras URSA 12k=Burano URSA 17k=Venice. Notice they have exactly the same range... BM also compete with AVID and Premiere on workflow products NLE, cloud storage and broadcast, and Atomos on interface devices and monitors etc. And this is the thing nobody discusses - Blackmagic is now the ONLY supplier who can provide an end to end experience for all areas of video, from solo to multicam, film to broadcast, from the entry-level beginner to ENG and broadcast camera ops and to IMAX level productions once the 17k URSA is released. They now even supply the network equipment needed to route from camera to playout. I think that Grant Petty is a strategic motherfxcker!
You look so sharp it's mesmerizing. Between that and the contrast it's like you're 3D. The image really looks better than most youtube content. Also, the DJI lidar range finder has been out for years, they basically just added more track points and rebranded it
Thanks! I'm glad you dig the image. I did review the lidar system on the Ronin, it was a lot of work to get it rigged and working. I'm not surprised they just combined everything into the 4d. Hopefully this new system will be easier.
Is the UHD signal sent out by the PYXIS SDI 8bit or 10bit? If it's 10bit, I would think this would be a decent enough to record via an external monitor, no? This would give ProRes workflows a chance in using this system, right?
You know… I found this video annoying. BM doesn’t need comparison to Canon, your choice of camera. The Pyxis and Ursa 12k are cameras in their own right by design and purpose. What’s with everyone ragging on BM when they are one of the few companies listening to their customers and users and not crippling their cameras with say lack of film tools like false color and providing free updates that feel like you’re getting a whole new camera? The filmmaking community is worse than the car tuner community at this point
I love BMD. Their cameras aren’t perfect for what I do (yet) but as a Davinci fan, I’d gladly convert. If they make E mount w/ usable AF they will dominate a whole market segment that they currently don’t tap into. While I’ll always necessarily compare their releases to the Sonys I currently use, I’d not do it in a disrespectful way as I agree that BMD’s products just get better and better every year and are priced insanely well to put amazing capabilities into the hands of ordinary people.
There won’t be an E mount BM camera any time soon due to licensing. Also L mount is BM’s mirrorless mount of choice as they’re a part of the L Mount Alliance.
I have 2 BM cameras and I haven't been interested in what they've been offering in years. My last two cameras are Canon. When the majors caught up with what BM pioneered I lost interest. I want decent AF, reliability, and consistency. I don't want to buy 2 cameras of the exact same model and not have them match. Even Red gets autofocus as shown in the Komodo. BM ignores focus because it's something they just don't know how to do or want to spend time engineering. I'd buy a Red before I'd buy a BM these days. If BM is listening to their customers, they're not listening to me, and I have 2 of them. They're like a smart phone manufacturer that their phone actually works like an old flip phone. At least the car tuner community doesn't have cranks on the front of the vehicle. If BM is your brand and it checks your boxes, more power to you. I don't need Canon to produce a camera on the same cycle as others. I have no interest in switching to Sony and am in no hurry for the next GAS device. Comparing the filmmaking community to the tuner group sounds like a little butt hurt to me. I have the Ronan lidar too. I'm glad to see it doesn't require the gimbal and has been updated.
Fuji film should just make a cinema camera... still waiting :D Would be so freaking nice. Premiere pro should just work on stability first. No new features before they get better optimization. They should include noise reduction like Resolve does, maybe buy NEAT noise reduction company and include that also. Get som flicker removal inside premiere that works.. like "Flicker free" from digital anarchy. In general make it faster on slower computers, and make graphics card do more heavy loads.
But other competitors like RED and Sony and embellished their dr as well showing 2 or more fewer stops when actually lab tested. Whereas BM may miss by a half stop.
I was asking myself the same thing.. are we talking spec sheets or actual use? I use most of what’s on the market and i’m not sure what we’re talking about here
@@elizeusantos93you videographers are so uninformed it’s stupid. It’s attacking the red v raptor, Alexa 35 or Sony Venice. It has nothing in common with an fx9. It’s meant to be operated by a team on large sets.

Contractually every video on this channel must refer to Canon at least 5 times. It is annoying but it is what it is. He can’t help himself.

Personally I would have preferred the new full frame Ursa 8K instead of 12K. This would make the camera much more of a low light camera.
