I'm so glad I came across this video while preparing for my job interview! I am currently a home health social worker and I'm interviewing for a clinical research coordinator position (Alzheimer's Research & Testing). Thank you for the insight!

Wow I’m so happy I found your channel ! Right now I’m just in my associates program in social work, but I’m trying to figure out how I can integrate my interests of social work, psychology, and research in the future. I would like to earn a masters or phd in the future and do different types of work, and your videos help me understand what I can do to get more experience and education to get where I want to be!

Thank you for this video! Would love to hear more about your experience transitioning from interpersonal practice to research! I’m getting my MSW with a focus in interpersonal practice in May, but have been working as a student research assistant for 9 months and I love the work! Looking at Research Area Specialist positions now. If you could also talk about the interview process and what questions were asked that would be extremely helpful! Thank you ☺️

Really informative video Yeonni! As someone who is about to get their MSW, it's really interesting to see a social worker going into a coordinator role. I'd be really interested to hear your input/knowledge on micro social work to macro social work roles :)

Thanks so much, Uyen! Ohh interesting topic! I don't have much experience in macro social work but I'll try to do some research / ask some colleagues about it! Thanks for the suggestion 😊

If I got a scholarship that fully covers tuition at the #10 MSW in the nation (Boston U), but will need to take out 20,000ish in loans in order to pay living expenses (rent, food, etc), is it worth it?? I have no other debt at the moment. And plan to work part-time + live as modestly as possible.. I have lived in the South my whole life and this would be a big change for me but it feels like such an incredible opportunity that I can't pass up. What do you think?

    Hi
I am currently looking into getting in clinical research. My background is in clinical laboratory and I have my masters in Public Health. It’s really hard finding a job. I feel they not taking me serious since my last position is a laboratory manager. I even had my resume reviewed. What do you suggest?

I'm in my university's social work program and I start field experience next semester but I don't know exactly want I want to do. Could you please make a video on how to narrow down paths and how to know which group (micro, mezzo, and macro) would be the best choice to work with for one's self. Thank you!

That's a wonderful video suggestion! I'll be sure to note it for a future video :) just a quick word of advice is, at least for me, I feel I was able to figure out my path by being thrown into different situations! For example, I worked with seniors during one field placement and I absolutely LOVED working with them! On the other hand, I worked a more mezzo role with less interpersonal work and I did nooooot like that!

I know this a late video but have you ever considered becoming a clinical research associate with your experience as a research coordinator?

Hello, I am looking to get into social work and I feel I'm losing time in pursuing my career goal. I have a diploma in social services and am interested in a Bsw and an Msw afterward to open my own practice for counseling. This will take a total of 6 years not including the work experience that is required. I am 26 years old and will likely finish at 34 years old. Do you think I have time to pursue my goals?

Hi there! I think it all depends on what feels right for you! In my MSW program i was 22-24 and had colleagues all different ages! One of my closest colleagues was in his mid 30's and after a decade of practicing law he decided he wanted to switch careers! I don't think there is a time limitation, it all depends on how much you want it and if you're willing to put in the time. Best of luck you got this 🤎

Wait I've watched a few of your videos so now I'm a bit confused you want to go to grad school, which is cool, but how did you do social work without having gone to grad school? Am I mistaken? Or are you now going back to grad school for something else? I know an MSW is needed for social work I'm assuming the PhD is for something else

Hi there! Yep I got my masters degree in social work in 2018 and am working on going back to grad school for a PhD in psychology 😊
