In that case as long as they don't cut out too much of the story for a shorter runtime or drown out scenes with music that is overbearing & doesn't actually fit the scene then yeah sure I would love to see more B&W stories get colourised.
I genuinely thought this was the official trailer the BBC used until the very ending- then I xhecked the description and low and behold - it was you! This trailer is absolutely incredible~ I think this fits perfectly within the fast-paced structure of NuWho's core audience~ The music and clips were very well chosen ☺️ They didn't the entire story but it gives plenty to provide interest! Alas, as an American, I wasn't able to see the colorized version- it's probably best I didn't - with all they cut and the music the BBC added that didn't fit certain scenes, I probably would've just criticized the whole thing, haha; this is my favorite First Doctor story, after all As for your trailer, you certainly did this colorized version justice~ Great job!
Thanks ☺️ that's very kind of you to say. If this is your favourite Hartnell story I would say probably best to avoid this new edition they were way too excessive with how much that was cut from the story & there's definitely moments that would infuriate you that they changed/ altered to fit to the 75 minute runtime. The colourisation does look nice little bit too saturated though but a marvellous achievement nevertheless.
I love New Who however after the Timeless Children ruined the show I've been slowly making my way through the OG Dr Who. Hartnell is amazing, I've been waiting for the first season to be rereleased on Blu-ray. Right now it's only half available on DVD and in black and white. Seeing it on color just makes me want it more, it looks so amazing.
Great to hear your dipping into classic Who, you have a lot to look forward too. The editting choices are quite bad for the colourisation, & they have removed a lot of the heart & soul of the story but the colourisation is good.
Yeah that was already made in colour. This takes the original B&W episode cuts down the runtime by more than half, adds updated CGI FX & colourises the B&W episode. To try & make it more palatable for a modern audience.

Shame they cut 60 minutes of the story to throw together a hashed up cut to death version in colour. I watched it and couldnt believe they would allow such a great classic to be hacked to pieces the way it was, missing out very important parts of the story. Glad i didnt waste money buying it on its dvd release. Yeah its great tbey colourized it and added updated effects, but whats the point of releasing it in colour when half the story is missing??? Not impressed at all.
@@stevecallum7933 now I always thought that at 7 episodes it was a bit too long but in this way too much has been cut out & it's edited very bizarrely, with constant flashback sequences to remind the audience of something you just saw 3 minutes ago & scenes that are put together into montages. It's not really made for the classic Who fans we're not the target audience. It's made to attract fans of nu who that can't watch B&W.
Tbh i was sorta insulted the story was pretty week as they cut too much out the music was great apart from the scene where it’s slapped together to make it more intense the music was pretty awful in the scene it was great seeing them in colour and it was a good job just sad it was butched if they make more i hope they stick to 4 episodes ones and keep them in tact
Yeah honestly I hated the editing cutting out more than half the story really does hurt it. The scene were Ian goes inside a Dalek so they can escape the city was done in a really horrendous montage & I hated it. The music was too bombastic & drowns out a lot of the dialogue. The colourisation was great great although maybe a tad too saturated for my liking.
@@thewhoview the that’s the scene haha also I was surprised it looked as good as it did in colour it was nice seeing all the hard work that was put in back then in the way it should of been seen some really beautiful scenery
Whilst this is great, I just wish that the money would be spent on animating other stories not yet released with Marco Polo a very popular demand from fans.
I swear Marco Polo has gotta exist. It had more copies made than any other episode & yet nothing. Someone has got to be holding on to that or at least some of it's episodes. And yeah if they took most of the budget towards this & put it into the animations we would totally get 1 a year. You'd think that would be a better sell than these colourisations would be.
The first doctor is sooo good I wish he would get more recognition nowadays
I so hope they re-release these in colour it would be a whole new experience
They are releasing physically it comes out the end of this month.
@@thewhoview Suspect he means ALL the black and white episodes in full.

I do want to see season 1 colourised
This is BRILLIANT. Fantastic work. The edit from the red Dalek eye to the lift shaft was really creative. Good work!
Greatly appreciated 🥰
Ooh I like this, great edit!
Shame I can't compliment the actual colourised story in the same way 😂
That was incredible! The added new soundtrack really added to it as well.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it. 😊

Can’t wait until this comes out here in the US. Thanks for making a trailer
Amazing edit! Love the use of the modern 'extermination' effects.
To quote the 9th Doctor: “Fantastic!”
Looks fantastic. A complete new lease of life. Looks like an 70mm movie.
No it doesn't. Have you seen what the 4K restorations of the Cushing Who movies look like? Worlds apart from this.
Was hoping someone would make a trailer for this!
I wonder if there will ever be a call to "black-and-white-ize" colour TV? 😅
Just turn your colour settings to very low and voila
There's actually quite a few modern movies that have Black and white versions. The Mist and Godzilla minus one come to mind and their quit good.
That looks cool, like the gun effects, would like to see the whole story.
10/10 video. Chills everytime.

Great trailer, love the music used.

Funny seeing you here!

Does the blue ray disc also come shipped with the obligatory sofa to hide behind? 😂
No that's sold separately 😆
Nice job, very intense and thrilling!
Thanks
Be cool if they can. Especially they are finding old episodes.
Incredible!!
60 years old, and still far better than that brainless drivel I watched over Christmas.
Omg absolutely no comparison. I will say that if you haven't seen the new colour edition they have changed it quite extensively & chopped a lot out.
AWESOME!!!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Cheers mate

But i thought the first doctor, was a little black baby girl. Where did this old imposter come from. (Sarcasm not my thoughts really!)
Oh god don't remind me 🙄😆
ok all good
Is it wrong that when I heard the scream you edited in for Barbara, I immediately thought of Sonic.exe (the original version)
I mean it is just a generic MP3 sound of a woman's scream I used.
@@thewhoview I know that, but it’s just hardwired into my brain

Didn't they already do this with Peter Cushing?

A testament to the modern recast of the first Doctor: I legitimately thought you'd used David Bradley in the thumbnail.
