The corruption just does not end in modern America. It touches everything.
Just because Whitaker denies that he hasn't discussed the Mueller investigation with Trump or "Senior White House officials" 3:10 doesn't preclude the possibility that he has discussed the issue with other, non-senior members who would then tell Trump everything (as per previously arranged). The format of the questions by the Democrats is faulty. Also, 4:45 recusal is voluntary and it carries no real penalty if violated; consider Devin Nunes' "recusal" during the time he was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee - he violated that commitment constantly. It means nothing. Again, the framing of the questions by the Democrats requires refinement.
Having watch much but not all of the hearing, Rachel missed on important fact. The Democrats were amazingly disciplined. Asking mostly yes/no questions, they would cut Whitaker off if he rambled more than a few seconds, repeat the question and demand a yes/no response. After three non answers , they moved to the next question. This pattern never varied, except when the Republicans interrupted with nearly endless points of order distractions, which Nadler speedily shutdown.
I loved the whole thing!!!!!!!!! Whitaker sweats like a hog.

While technically true, Presidential appointment means the President puts forward nominees that share some ideological commonalities. Trump isn't the first one to do it. In fact, his nominee, Barr, covered up for Reagan and crew after the Iran Contra when he was Bush 41's AG.

He would have been better served by getting through it as quickly as possibly, rather than making a show of himself and becoming more of a target. He legally can not discuss an ongoing investigation. Dodging questions about it is a requirement of his job, as any discussion of it would comprimise the investigation. These congressmen and women know this fact.
Yet they ask questions concerning it any way, simply to attempt to force him to appear dodgy to the public. It's rediculous, and an obvious attempt to discredit him in the publics eye.
