so important for us to reflect on how easy it is to lose our human compassion, "a proliferation of hate in the world at the moment", is so true and need to make sure we don't !! Important talk, thanks Jon.
Compassion for ourselves and others is so important, and we need to be reminded, as we wear ourselves down, not only out in the world, but also at home. Thank you Jon for reminding of how important it is to care for ourselves and others, including those who hurt us and who might need compassion the most.
I was petrified of flying as a child. Watching loads of videos like yours, I was able to go to Greece after finishing exams at school. That was almost 10 years ago.. and now I regularly fly alone and LOVE it! I’m now training for my private pilots licence :)
We don’t like the idea that we could hate, and that’s why we’re so defended that we don’t learn about ourselves. I hope everyone watching is brave enough to examine what you’re saying inside themselves
Awakening the virtue of “compassion” is the 1st step. The key lies in knowing, being and doing. If we stop at knowing, no real change will take place in our society.
'awaken the virtue of compassion.' i never thought of it like that. one can 'awaken' ones own virtues and feelings. in other words, feelings are not just to be had, and feelings are not just to be used exclusively reactionarily, but also, "awakened" after they are switched on. i don't think i'm communicating this perfectly, but what i'm understanding from this comment is that one can feel something, maybe because of something someone did, or a problem, and then a natural reaction occurs, a certain emotion. but, according to this view, one can then awaken that said emotion, or, by the same logic, switch off that emotion, depending on their desire.
I love the idea of looking at how we turn off our compassion so we can learn how to turn it back on so we can throw Light into the Darkness. I wonder how the world would change if we all looked at doing this? Thanks Jon this is a great invitation to turn up our compassion.

Lack of self-awareness and personal growth contributes to most personal and relational challenges. When we truly know and value ourselves, we are better equipped to value others. The real challenge lies in healing from past experiences that prevented us from valuing ourselves in the first place. Often, healing means we become less tolerant of the people and behaviors that caused us harm. This can make you question whether it’s worth it, especially when we observe the unnecessary suffering that exists in the world. We live in a society where it can be difficult to escape that suffering, and when we do, it can be challenging to find others who have done the work on themselves and are capable of being truly good to others only then is when the cycle stops.

People project hate outward only because they are disconnected from themselves. Their unconscious self cannot communicate its emotions as facts, while the conscious mind can only recieve and communicate without critical thought such as a wild animal. He/she who has linear thought has no use for hate.
@Romans1162-y6x If there is Cynicism and or Condescension present, it doesn't exactly work.. I'm Not saying that IS the case and happenstance with such a response; but it's (unfortunately) a necessary scenario to be considered.. 🫶
I am indifferent to other people. I would help someone if they were hurt but I don’t go out of my way to connect with them. Probably because I have been disappointed by my fellow humans and I prefer to connect with animals because they don’t have any ulterior motives. I feel like half the population is vile and the other half have to clean up after those vile ones.
I mean Russel Crowe should know a bit about it 😅 Jokes aside, it takes less time to hate than to listen and understand. Especially if it includes admitting the falsity of our beliefs. Hate, unfortunately, is also a profitable element in our society. 🙃

With all due respect this conversation has little ultitliy given our current situation in the West. The REAL conversation we should be having is how pathological compassion can be weaponized by bad actors to a point where people can't even speak freely. You can't even challenge gender ideology without being treated like a heretic despite how much a Monster John Money was. We should be talking about how compassion, compulsion, and power can justify the use of force, especially on the feminine temperament side. Psychologist in Canada can't even question their patients identity without the threat of losing their job, so what that means is that our psychologists are mandated by law to lie to their patients in the name of "compassion" I saw Neil deGrasse Tyson on Bill Maher the other day and that's a good example of what I'm getting at lol These are the kind of conversations the elites would have so they can feel good about themselves.
