  • After sea turtle hatchlings emerge from their nests, they vanish into the sea. Until recently, their journey was largely shrouded in mystery. Now, as technology advances, researchers from the University of Central Florida are beginning to understand where turtles go during their so-called “lost years.”

This was so AWESOME! brought tears of joy 😂; i would love to know if there is a follow up video seeing that this is 7yrs old.
Also the paradise that Jesus preached about wil help all the animals too; cause no selfishness of humans nor environmental harm of anykind will happen; oh how i look forward to that!

Such beautiful creatures, with complex lifecycles. A clear evidence of Intelligent Design.

Wonder why you have to identify each individual researcher over and over for the umpteenth time every few minutes. Gets really annoying and tedious.

Honestly, not very impressed with the tracking system. The solar powered transmitter with that lengthy rod wire poking out of it surely gives it a disadvantage to its life. Even then sanding it's shell to apply chemicals to it??? Seems fucking ridiculous honestly

A hearty AMEN !!! I enjoy videos about Sea turtles. There is no denying that they are cute and adorable. It is commendable that there are people who want to help, but what is lost in all this, is a lack of thanks to our Lord for creating them and us!!! He is the greatest artist of all !! Genesis chapter 1 verse 20 : God said " let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures. Verse 21: so God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abound according to their own kind.". Appreciate the creation but don't forget to thank the CREATOR.!!! And I'm tired of hearing about things evolving. Everything that we need for life, was placed in us at our conception whether it be man or beast. If you want to honor creation, study your Bible as well and consult the ONE who designed it all!!!

now how is that turtle suppose to mate with that thing on his back really im mad so bye bye....

    • @erkmonkey2

Hi Andra! The satellite tags don't stay on the turtles for longer than a few months, and judging by their size, most of these turtles aren't old enough yet to be anywhere near the stage in which they'd be mating. Additionally, even assuming most of these turtles were ready to mate, these researchers aren't tagging enough turtles to impact reproduction rates. Don't be mad, be glad! We're learning a lot of useful information about turtle migratory and lifecycle patterns through this technology! Take care!

Gluing is not healthy for the turtles. Also sanding and taking a chunk of skin. I'm not on board with this. I don't care if its for science they shouldn't be hurting animals.

Research like this helps pass laws to protect wildlife from things like fishing and underwater drilling. It also raises awareness about the state of our oceans. They get paid next to nothing and work insane hours, gtfo
