Quality sparring! Yellow headgear is definitely miles apart. Once I saw him pawing at the jab in the first round and doubling up the hooks to the head and body in later rounds, I knew the other guy was done.
For someone that aggressive, occupying his high guard is necessary, changing levels and creating angles are a must and by all means, vary the jab...
I learnt quite a bit off of this and I have to be honest, im nowhere near even being a novice.
Ehima, I've been boxing for years and I never sparred alot and sucked at it but the way you were able to quickly notice detail like doubling hooks and jabs, how do you develop that because I notice when I spar I don't know what the hell is going on and I get brutalized, do you have any ideas how to develop or notice what too throw and what is going on like how you noticed with this match.
@@hansthroif you are talking one on one you can clearly see that black headgear had his guard half low(only on his chin)temples and in this case the left side of his jaw are open to hooks.
The problem is to find a hole in his footwork(some point where he just stands still or hesitates,in this fighter’s case right after close range exchanges and clinches) then try yoir luck with one or two,if they land start adding feints to make the next ones land since the opponent has caught up with the fact that you want to throw a hook.
@@hansthro I study a lot of fight footage to be honest. Sparring I feel should only be done once one has understood enough fundamentals and technical aspects of boxing. If not, it could be very dangerous in the ring.
As to how I noticed certain things, its about watching your opponent for holes in their game... Do they drop their hands? Does their high guard obstruct their vision? Do they have favourite punches they spam? Do they prefer to fight off the backfoot? Do they have shoddy footwork?Things like that. Boxing is both about offense and defence. You want to hit and not get hit.
Once you can identify those flaws, the next thing is to understand counters to those flaws and drill them vigorously till they can be utilized in the ring.
Knowledge and application must go hand in hand, because application alone without extensive knowledge can create a false sense of security in the ring.
I wish you all the best in your boxing journey and hope this helps a bit.
Fried and ehima thanks for quality info and ehima what should I start with in sparring is it something I just drill specifically for each situation because doing all that in live sparring is hard althought I've been boxing for like 6+ years. But in live sparring I'm left with just 1-2 or 1 or 3-6 but I don't know what I'm exactly looking for when I spar. Any more recommendations or things I should focus on or practice or drill and how exactly, essentially how to think and learn too anticipate, like before sparring do you have a strategy or do you just anticipate and adjust like low guard or bad footwork or combos to him freezing?
I love the positive community building on this channel. Thank you guys 🙏🏽
Beautiful inside work at 2:39. Definitely felt that body shot with the 6-3 downstairs and then went with 6-3 to the head when purple dropped his hand to protect the body.
It was actually at 6-11 then a 10-3. Head shots are 1-6, body shots are 7-12.
Good shit guys 🔥🔥
Purple gloves needed to use the jab more to keep the other boxer away, without a strong, effective jab you cannot keep a pressure fighter off you. Good sparring nonetheless
As soon as bro came out with the Winning gear I knew it was raps
I'd like to see him fight someone closer to his abilities. Looking good. 🇲🇽🍻🍻🇲🇽
If you scroll down there’s 2 vids of him back to back. Those are good too. Thumbnails with the gold gloves.
Gold gloves got that mexican style 🇲🇽🇲🇽💪🏽
That Virgil Ortiz style 👊🏽
W channel frl
Appreciate you G 💪🏽
Yesssssss sir!!!!!!!!
Great job Hector and Coach Carlos. 🙏🏾 #CoachSean
sometimes you gotta find your limit the hard way
hector a hella good boxer
Definitely agree with you there. Appreciate the support
Carlos Martinez and Hector Beltran's have the same boxing style and they look very identical.
When did purple start boxing? and how long has been boxing?
He must of asked for that one I’m thinking
Whats the etiquette here? looked like yellow starting throwing bombs and continued knowing he got him down instead of resetting? be interested to know what more experienced people think
Purple is smaller good work for him
Very well done from both champs, my only concern is the power behind each of those punches, I thought sparing was just the opposite. Why are they trying to kill each other?
You got to have good defense
They are 16oz Gloves. Good Groen protectors and Head gear. This is Boxing. You don't play Boxing.
Who’s gold headgear? I ‘ve got a similar style, trying to study
Names are on the thumbnail! Hector Beltran
Purple has no damn business in there
Purple gloves was lowkey cookin but yellow way too sharp w it
Cooking with cold grease Lmao
Why are we doing 8 counts in sparring….
I go to that gym and I agree with you lol
That gym I'd Irving Police Boxing. City pays the Bills. Maybe that's why.
@@jacquezpolk6113 arrest the ref pls
what is Hector Beltran's height and weigh?
Unreversible brain damage for a sparring.. idk
@@UKCOLAB highkey, man was going a lil too hard😂
I didn't see the Brain damage. How were you able to see it ? So I can watch again.
Anyway I can get the gold gloves ig?
It’s hectorbeltranjr if I’m not mistaken!
I find it unfair when people spar with different headgears. A facesaver quite literally takes the blow off most punches.
It’s harder to see with it tho
& who do I contact to come spar?
I’ve been told you gotta call the gym (Irving PAL) and set up the sparring that way
hi
what weight is gold
He fights at 147, not sure what he was at in the video
What weight class is they
I know Hector fights at 147 but if I had to guess they’re walking around in the 150s
Purple looks like he has 12oz gloves on? Not saying anything wrong but it look like gold got 16 and purple got 12
Yeah, the purple gloves are Rival RB7s, they’re bag gloves, not meant for sparring.
is that d'iverson?
Lmao HELL NO he would be so salty if he read that. That’s a fighter from Jungle Boxing Gym. If DI is fighting, I’m putting him in the thumbnail without a doubt 💪🏽
got it haha, but i will be excited to see how our defensive genius compete against mexican style bulls... that will be a interesting test of brute force vs high IQ. Just some feedback on future videos if you can add the boxers name/gym will be great!@@OfficialParallel8
the boy in yellow had too much ego anyway... it wasn't necessary to finish him off with a knockout... the boy with the black helmet had finally stopped putting up any resistance... it didn't really look like sparring
sparring or amateur fight?
Sparring lol.
this aint no way preparing for amateur fight... looks more they train ffor going pro... how they box.. calculated punnches and not that many... thats not amateur.
