Two things. 1. enjoyed content, BG track perfect behind dialog enhancing not distracting. 2. You ask for likes at the end of the video after we have seen the content. EVERYONE, else hits us up front before we have even seen the content. You did everything right and I smashed the like button. Cheers.

Thats why im over here watching only your vids with regard to color grading
Because you focus on the actual craft itself
Its the same thing when I coach my motocross clients
If you understand the principles and craft, you can not only apply it, but once you understand them, this will allow you to contunually evolve your craft
    Thanks as always

6:56 Since you have multiple monitors, which one are you grading on? If all respond differently and aren't as accurate, would you grade on the most accurate one, but just look at the others for an idea of how it will look on different screens?

It's 32 inch, 2k (2560x1440), led backlit backlight, ips panel, 4ms respond time, 60hz(analog) maximum refresh rate. I cannot find the contrast ratio. Would it be suitable to run Davinci resolve? can we do triple monitors instead of dual screen!!! reason asking bc I'm in need of three monitors because I use three cameras for work. Thanks for addressing the display topic in this video Qazi. At the moment, my system is struggling a bit to keep up with colour grading tasks I'm learning from you, so I'm building a new Hackintosh with 19-9900k, Radeon vii and, probably 64GB of RAM and the MOST confusing area for me is the monitor. Of course all of this stuff is a massive investment, and I'm sure just like me, many people just want to do it right so they can just get to work. So what is best, in your experience to get? A BenQ monitor? An LG OLED TV? And why? And how does that work with resolve? Do you need Decklink? If I just plug the TV into the GPU will my image in resolve be consistent with what I export?

Can you tell me how you are getting the profile from the x-rite to display to the monitor, are you using a LUT box, or is it passing straight from the software? I am asking because from my testing, with the X-rite calibration, It only applies it's calibration where it can, browsers, UI, places like that, but from what I learned, the actual playback window and playback video inside resolve are not touched. Is this correct?

    • @theqazman

Could you make a video of how you calibrated the LG OLED? and also I have a calibrated Benq but I bought an X-rite i1display pro to re calibrate it, as monitors drift, and frankly I have not been able to get the new calibration anywhere near correct.. either with the xrite software or Displaycal.

Great video Qazi! I have a question. Do you use a Macbook Pro? If so, how do you calibrate it for DaVinci? I have the i1 Display Pro colorimeter and have used both i1 Profiler and Display Cal to generate a LUT for the 3D Color Viewer, but I’m not getting accurate results. My videos look different in the timeline vs the color page viewer vs Quicktime vs VLC vs TH-cam upload. I use TH-cam and the iPhone as my checkers since those tend to look the same. I have a BenQ SW2700PT monitor that is hardware calibrated, but I really want to use my Macbook Pro on the go and be able to rely on what I am seeing on screen. 😩 The struggle is real.

You're welcome. Calibrate your BenQ. Your QC process is correct just make sure truetone is off on your iPhone.
Try turning on the Mac profile option in there preferences when using MBP
